The room was not to the Marriott standard that I would expect. It was rundown. Many things needed repair, painting and/or cleaning. We were very disappointed compared to our stay there several years earlier. Keys kept not working, had to ask for complimentary breakfast because other guests were taking too much and rooms were dingy.
I had a very peaceful stay with my husband and child. With covid, you must make reservations for the pool which was awesome. We were able to get the entire pool to ourselves for one hour. Their breakfast was great for a grab and go breakfast. I needed to stay an extra day and they were able to accommodate me in the same room.
We were disappointed in the cleanliness of our hotel room, the loud and heavy doors, and in the amenities. The shower curtain was moldy, pack n play dirty, the faucet and door loud with sleeping kids. The indoor pool was freezing cold and breakfast was only open until 9/9:30 even though it isnt served hot. Most of the staff was pleasant and the bed was comfortable.
Property is definitely older. Ceiling had cracks in it (most likely from leaks) and bathroom area was dirty (hair in tub, sink area dirty, etc) but nothing too bad. Stayed for almost a week. Breakfast was grab and go and nothing to write home about. Area is quiet so that’s a perk and close to many places to eat. Staff charged me taxes when I am tax exempt for work and had to deal with that every time and I had to wait until the manager was around to fix the issue.
The visit was pretty much average for travelling during Covid. However, I want to point out the exceptional service I received when checking in. Originally, we wanted a two bedroom suite and were told by reservations that this hotel did not have them. Upon check-in I discovered that they did in fact have them and some were available. Ricky, the gentleman working the front desk, helped me work through the rewards desk to get our reservations changed so our family could stay in the same suite instead of separate rooms. He didnt have to do that. He chose to go out of his way to help me.Thanks for everything, Ricky! You are First Class!
We love this hotel!!! We love the staff and all the perks the hotel has to offer. The pool, basketball court, and fire pit was a huge hit with our group. We also enjoyed the grill that we were allowed to use. The staff was very flexible and understanding. The room was very clean!
We arrived early as we needed to beat the party by 3pm . After a long journey we were desperate to clean up before the event. The hotel was coming off a sold out night , but the lady at the desk could not have been more helpful . She put in a request to get notification as soon as a room was cleaned and got us in early . The staff were amazing , they are a credit to your place .
We stayed one night with our two kids and our dog while our house was being shown all weekend. We needed somewhere to go during Covid and frigid temperatures, so this was perfect. Having a pool for the kids and a fitness center was a plus. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were even upgraded to a much bigger room upon arrival, which was great with two kids. The pool was being serviced the morning of checkout, that was a let down, and breakfast was a sad affair due to Covid restrictions, but I guess they did the best they could. Just a note, the pool and fitness center are by reservation during Covid, I do wish they had also let me know that someone At the front desk would need to let us in, they don’t want people just walking in.
We were disappointed in the level of noise coming from the room above us and the amount of noise the floor in our room made when we walked across the living room area. We heard every step the people above us made and I am sure the creaking floor in our room was a problem for the room below us. The cleanliness of our room was another area that needs your attention. There was dirt above the refrigerator and crumbs on the shelf where the toaster was kept. With Covid still being an worry, the lack of attention in the room cleaning was a worry. I understand that getting proper staffing is probably difficult during Covid, but someone in Management needs to be checking these rooms. On a positive note, the staff we encountered was polite, positive and helpful.
After being away for basically one whole year due to the Covid lockdown of the courthouse, I am happy to be back for my weekly stays. Although most of the staff has changed, everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. It was evident that all were following pandemic safety protocols. It was a pleasure to meet Rickie and Sabrina, great additions to the crew.
In town for a family funeral, spent three nights. Clean, well-kept, decent continental breakfast (except the coffee was awful), spacious studio - but I should not have accepted a studio with adjoining door. Guy next door was foul-mouthed and loud, even to himself, and walls are so thin you hear every dish, glass, spoon, cough, conversation. The adjoining door makes it much worse. At 1:30 AM on my last night I finally had to call front desk to complain about him. They took care of it immediately - but I lost a nights sleep. I like the form you sign at check-in regarding policies about noise and disturbances, but you really cant complain before 10 PM - walls should be better insulated so neighbors dont have to hear each other - and common sense consideration of course is rare. Outrageous pricing too - I paid half that rate at a midtown NYC hotel for the rest of my stay!
We had our wedding block at the Residence Inn & Courtyard and were extremely pleased with our experience. The rooms were clean, staff was friendly & accommodating, and all of our guests only had positive things to say. Special shoutout to Sabrina at the Residence Inn - you are amazing and we are beyond thankful for all that you did to make our time as seamless as possible! We appreciate you so much!!
My wife and I stayed here Aug 1- Aug 2, 2020. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful! Parking was easy and free, and they had coffee and light breakfast to go in the morning. The hotel rooms were clean, and large. We had a full size fridge and dishwasher. Very happy with this location!
I have lived near this hotel for years and did not realize it was such a hidden gem! The hotel is beautiful. There are so many amenities: fire pit, pool, fitness center, basketball court, etc. Continental breakfast which is always a necessity when traveling. Also, the ease of being able to DoorDash right to your hotel was nice. The staff was friendly and all of the guests were so nice to one another, which is a testament to the services they were enjoying at the hotel. We ended up coming back another night just to relax. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Even if you live close and want a little getaway, it is worth it.
My boyfriend and I reserved a king studio room for one night, with our two puppies, so that we could attend a wedding nearby. We loved our room, their pet-friendly nature, and the hotel amenities so much that we booked an extra night. We will most definitely be returning in the future and we highly recommend this location to others!
Their ventilation system is outdated and someone in my part of the hotel is smoking pot in their bathroom and blowing the smoke in the vent. They might as well be in my room smoking because it is so strong. Theres nothing the staff can do. Also, the rooms have little privacy when it comes to noise. My neighbor has a door that slams and I can hear his phone conversation word for word. Not very clean either. Found a used band aid in the closet door track. The tub has a hard time draing. Might just be a black cloud over me. Good luck with your stay.
I come here almost every year with my family for a week. I love the social hour.. the breakfast and the outdoor seating area. Also there is a young man who works breakfast who is the absolute sweetest and makes sure to welcome all the guests! The only downfall I can think of is I love going to the pool.. but it was ice cold. It was nice but I really couldnt get myself to go in past my legs. If they would just add heaters to the pool it would be 5 stars without a doubt!
Staff was very helpful shari (front desk )was awesome. The room wasnt clean the touch points were dirty, (cabinet handles, light switches) the vent above the cook top was filthy, the bathroom had feces in the toilet and above the tissue dispenser had a brown substance on it. I spent a large amount of time cleaning and sanitizing. It was a nice and spacious property but house keeping is doing a poor job. We are in a pandemic this occurring under normal circumstances is unacceptable. I work so hard as a Nuse myself and my husband are essential workers and we just wanted some relaxation for ourselves and our two daughters i will never stay here Again. Disappointing.
The hotel was perfect! Having been in meeting planner for 25 years, I can say this hotel and its team were perfect. From the cleanliness, to the spacious rooms, and the staff-we felt like we were in our own home. The Suites are huge and accommodated my family perfectly and I know it would be quite convenient for pharma business or relocation. My daughter loved the pool too!If you have to travel for business, it is perfect also. It has great outlet/charging devices in the rooms(no crawling behind the desks to find a plug). Also, they have great shower pressure and hair dryers, so that is important too. The staff was super friendly and we left feeling like friends.Thank you Residence Inn Long Island!
My family decided on the Marriott Residence Inn at the Islip / Courthouse Complex to bring together many travelling family members. The accommodations were excellent including the comfortable pillows (my wife and other family members said best sleep in a long time); breakfast was well organized and had a diverse selection which was excellent. The overall space to bring family together before leaving the hotel was bright, warm and friendly. Staff throughout were friendly and family like in their attention to be accommodating. Thank you for making our visit a beautiful experience everyone will remember. Everything in the hotel worked as expected. I will say one thing though that you may be able to enhance: My elderly mother, who was in a suite by herself, had difficulty managing the remote control Many family members had to assist her in getting to a few channels. I would suggest that this should be something front desk ask about when guests check in. Maybe a senior citizen Remote Control with easy to use channel selection and volume control would have been very helpful. She could not work the remote in light of the very small buttons and not easy to see lettering. This would be the only problem we experienced and did take away from my mothers overall impression of staying at your hotel.
The room was dirty - nothing was clean or even disinfected. The Kitchen was especially dirty - the were dirty dishes in the sink when we arrived and the kitchen table and counter tops were dirty. There was not enough towels or toilet paper for 4 people staying in a suite. There was no extra bedding for the pull out couch. No one ever cleaned our room - no service at all. Not too Happy.
Came into town with a few members of our family for a family reunion. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and were pleasantly surprised by the roomy accommodations. The staff was great and efficient. We enjoyed the convenience and quality of the complimentary breakfast. Happy Hour was offered on Week Day Evenings and was a pleasant addition that offered complimentary Wine, Beer and a different hot food item each week day night (this is not offered on weekends). There were numerous public areas to lounge. The lobby offers comfortable couch seating areas with tvs for watching current events and sports and the outside area has lovely outdoor furniture and a fire bowl (did not get to experience a fire as it was a summer stay and hot). Overall the rooms were modern, comfortable, and clean. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the smiling staff and all of the unexpected extras.
While this an older property, room was clean and well-maintained. Customer service was courteous and helpful to a fault, as others here have mentioned here. Minor quibble with room: Studio with King & Sofa has no night light in bathroom (like Springhill Suites) so the full light shines right down on pillow of master bed, disturbing others who may be trying to sleep. Breakfast is grab and go which is fine with all the COVID restrictions in force. Location is central for just about anywhere on the island with proximity to Southern State, Robert Moses Causeway to Fire Island and beaches. Nice having a kitchen.
I had a one bedroom suite. The bathroom door was absolutely disgusting. We had a roll of paper towels that had some type of sauce all over it. There was garbage under the sink. The staff was respectful but just the cleanliness has fallen off. This is bad most especially now with this pandemic.
I came to this hotel for a much needed weekend escape during the first phase of a home remodel, and I absolutely loved it! From the moment I stepped into my studio, I felt right at home. Having a kitchenette right in the room was wonderful and very convenient. And the bed was by far the best part-like sleeping on a soft, white cloud. I like that the covers are not too thick so that you do not get too hot. And the lobby is beautiful; I loved relaxing there and watching T.V. after breakfast. Hot breakfast is good, too, with a variety of choices. Staff are professional and courteous; this is the only hotel I have stayed in where the housekeepers actually smile and greet you in the hall! Definitely recommend!
We enjoyed all aspects of our stay here. The hotel looks and feels brand new. Everything is so well kept and immaculate. We loved having two bedrooms and bathrooms perfect for our family of 4. The rooms were so smartly designed with a full kitchen with all the appliances of a high grade kitchen. The iHome clocks were a great convenience. The pool was kept nice and warm. The fitness center featured really high quality equipment and the room was huge. Walls seem to be very thick. All the staff we encountered were hard working and attentive and made sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best free hotel breakfasts and offered a great deal of choices. The hotel is only about 15 minutes to Robert Moses State beach and about 10 to a few restaurants and a little under a half hour to port Jeff. Centrally located. Loved our experience here and wish we stayed longer than a night. Look forward to returning!
Overall satisfied, however, the weekend we were there so was an extremely large group of body builders staying there for a competition. It created an overcrowded and noisy experience when we tried to use the amenities provided by the hotel. We had reserved our room nine months in advance for a family wedding. The brides family reserved a block of rooms for their guests almost a year in advance, so we feel the management should have been more accountable to make sure there was enough space to accommodate all guests. When we expressed.our dissatisfaction to a hotel manager, she graciously apologized and comped us for one nights stay.
This hotel was wonderful for family gatherings. The staff was very nice and helpful, even suggesting restaurants. The lobby and breakfast area was very comfortable to relax and hang out. The rooms were very modern and comfortable. The gym and pool were both used and enjoyed. It was great to have the kitchens to bring lunches and snacks, as well as leftovers from dining out. There were numerous emails sent and using the app made the check-in and out process go smoothly. I would highly recommend them to anyone staying in the area.
We used this hotel for our wedding block for family and friends and for ourselves for the days leading up to the wedding and the day of the wedding. My husband got ready with his groomsmens at the hotel as well. I worked with Christine and year in advance to book the wedding block and she was easy to communicate with. Checking in was easy and the staff was amazing. The rooms were beautiful and my guests are still talking about them. Christine and the staff walked about with my 3 month old nephew and played with my 4 year old nephew so my sister in law and brother could eat their breakfast. They were amazing and made us feel like family. We could not be happier and we will be back.
My family and I stayed for five nights in one for there one room suites. It was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. There were two living areas, so everyone got some space to when we had down time. There was a kitchen table, a huge computer desk, a big comfortable sectional with a TV, and then a whole other one bedroom with a TV. It was a great space to get some Mom- unwind time. The hotel is super new and clean - which I loved! Also there was a fire pit with an outdoor patio, and an indoor pool for the kids. Also there was a coin indoor laundry, so while you were either in the pool, hanging by the fire pit, or in the lobby you could clean a load of clothes quickly and easily. There is also a small (get it and go) shop in the lobby, with dental floss, ice cream, drinks, and a bunch of other essentials. We loved our stay, it was such a relief to not have any problems with the hotel on our trip.
I have been back and forth visiting family that are staying at this hotel and I am very impressed. The staff are all extremely friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is very clean and has a very relaxing feel to it. The mixer on the patio is such a wonderful way to make the guests feel right at home. Keep up the great work! I highly recommended this hotel to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay!
Residence Inn exceeded my expectations. On the first night I desired an extra blanket and literally within minutes there was a knock on the door with a gloved man handing me blanket. Room service was invisible and effective. I never seen them and yet they came and immaculately cleaned the room even on the days that I slept in. I left a few dishes out and the dishes were put in the dishwasher. Refrigerator, Sink, Microwave, utensils, bathroom, and room in general, all super clean. No hassle extending my stay. Staff at check-in, Excellent. Staff at check-out, Excellent. Hot Breakfast staff Excellent. Super fast internet. Dreamy Bed. What was unexpected was delivered. And what was expected was delivered beyond expectations. In my opinion, simply could not ask for a better stay or a better team.
The hotel staff was extremely helpful in making the stay before and after my daughters wedding go smoothly. We rented the conference room for the bridal party to get ready. Rooms were ready for early checkin allowing our guests and bridal party get ready. We also were able to have a photographer take pictures in the lobby and the outside grounds. The rooms were spacious and clean. I would definitely stay at the Residence Inn.
Booked for family members from out of state who were attending a family party in the area. They could not say enough good things about the accommodations, and enjoyed their stay very much. The room was spacious, and comfortable, included a kitchenette. which they were very happy about. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the future.
I booked for the studio. It was clean, beautiful and modern in terms of amenities like the kitchen, bath, and bed. No complaints there. The pictures on the website do not really portray what the room looks like. Trust me its better. Staff is extremely friendly and kind. Dont be afraid to engage in conversation, they wont hesitate. Overall 10/10. The breakfast area can get a little congestion, but that only means the breakfast must be good right? (Also theres a waffle maker who can complain about that)
We found this Residence Inn is in a convenient location to town and other sights. The grounds are clean and inviting, plenty of parking. Rooms were very clean, neat and inviting. It is pet friendly, great for family and business. Very accommodating not matter how many in your party. Internet service is excellent. The Breakfast is very fresh and if they are out of something just ask and they will accommodate you. We had a large group and they opened the conference room so that we could be together. The Manager made sure that we had everything we needed. Staff is friendly and there no matter what time you walked thru the doors or needed service in your room. I would definitely stay there again.
I cant believe that it took me so long to check into a Residence Inn! The rooms were modern, stylish and very well designed. The one bedroom layout made it much easier to get work done, relax and rest without feeling like youre cooped up in a catch all bedroom. The evening my mixers were a very pleasant surprise. The staff were great hosts and made it easy for residents to mix and mingle over wine, beer and appetizers at no additional costs. Breakfast service was top notch as well. Someone always greeted you at the door and even missed me the day I skipped breakfast! The location is very convenient to local shopping and dining as well. I was able to move around pretty easy without relying on my gps...I work on Long Island frequently and This will be my hotel of choice from now on!!
My room was really nicely appointed. I like the large desk that looked out the window. I was able to spread out and work. While the hotel seems tucked away from other retail , a shopping center was only 1 mile away and the front desk had recommendations for food delivery. The Tuesday night happy hour was a nice perk. Very nice, open common areas. I do think the coffee station in the breakfast area is tucked away in an annoying spot. A line quickly forms as 2 people cannot reach it at the same time and the nearby seating makes it challenging to move around. Morning coffee is a really important start to my day and this area I found really aggravating. I would like a ice maker accessible to the guests instead of asking the front desk who was always very accommodating.
This is not the most upscale hotel on Long Island. This is a comfortable, clean, nice place. I travel on business so my needs are slightly different than a vacation/tourist visitor. This hotel provides everything Id expect and more. I cant say enough about the price vs the benefits of a stay here. We come frequently and have tried other accommodations in the area and this one always comes out on top. Yes, there are minor observations I could share, being a frequent flyer here but that would not be fair. This experience in lodging never fails to disappoint me and oddly it often feels like home-away-from-home.
We stayed for 3 weeks as our daughter attended a three week physical therapy program. All the staff made it like a second home to us. I cant say enough about them. The room was great, spacious, and the kitchen had everything you need for an extended stay. The social hour on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays were great, and it was nice the menu changed each week.
Great hotel experience. Stayed for two nights under two separate reservations, but the staff was able to link reservations and not cause me to move rooms. The staff were very friendly and the hotel is immaculate clean. They have lots of ammenities including dourdoor patio area, fire pit, half court basketball, nice sized gym, and pool (no spa). The rooms were very large and fairly priced with a full kitchen with stainless appliances. Bed was comfy (did not try the pull out) and AC worked great.Would stay here again anytime.
Great hotel! I stayed here for about 10 months after a house fire. The staff were always a treat to deal with. The breakfast was solid for a buffet and generally pretty varied. They had a variety of food offerings in the evenings a few nights a week as well. The laundry was much cheaper than any of the nearby laundromats. The rooms are well equipped as essentially apartments with a full fridge, stove top (some rooms apparently have ovens), dishwasher, pots, bowls, mugs, ect. Ive honestly never felt so at home in a hotel so quickly. You may want to make note of the Long Island Ducks baseball schedule before visiting. Games next door will create big traffic headaches in the area and on some nights theyll be using fireworks after the game.
Stayed here several times. Fairly clean. Modern rooms. Good beds. Nice kitchens. On my last stay despite my passengers handicap placard on display I got a parking ticket I now have to appear for in court hours away from NJ, I dont know why it was in plain sight. In addition, they charged my credit card for several nights I never agreed to and now demand 7+ days to clear the unauthorized pending transactions. Not just the room security, we are talking several hundred dollars of unauthorized trasactions they admit they made in error causing me problems. If that money is not released on time to my card Ill be filing a security lock against them. Oh and the last night the people in the room above us had 5+ kids stomping literally all night long and the front desk said nothing while we couldnt sleep.
Staff were friendly and ever willing to help any of our requests (we were staying with wedding guests). Rooms are spacious, well equipped, especially if you wanted to cook for yourself. Clean and regular room service. Decent selection of breakfast (waffle station!) and 24 hour coffee / teas.
My husband and I used this hotel for our NYE wedding weekend. We had a mix of international and local guests, and Christine and the staff went out of their way to make everything as easy and comfortable as possible for all of us (even finding some extra toiletries and such for one of our UK guests when her luggage was lost the day before the wedding!) We had our rehearsal dinner in the conference room there and it couldnt have been easier to arrange. Guest were also particularly impressed by the breakfast and 24-hr hot drinks station. From the initial contact right up through the end of our stay we couldnt have been more pleased with our experience. Thank you to Christine and all of the staff at the Residence Inn!
Value for money. Clean, well serviced, friendly staff. We were allowed to check in ahead of time when our room was available. The reception staff provided advice on a number of things we asked them about, for example where we could visit in Maine on the few days we took a road trip. Each room was a a spacious suite. We have stayed there more than once and will recommend the hotel to all our friends.
Hotel was welcoming. They had social events on evenings in the beginning of the week where the offered complimentary appetizers and drinks. It was a nice surprise. The complimentary breakfast was awesome with lots of options available and the dining area was very clean. The room had everything to make you feel comfortable while away from home. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We were down on Long Island for a family event, with a number of of our parties staying at this location. In the past , weve had very good experiences at Residence Inns (Alexandria, Va. and Montreal ) and this is no exception. This hotel seems to be fairly new with very nice design and furnishings. It is well maintained and very clean. Public spaces are inviting and lend themselves to socializing. We had warm weather for late September and did a lot of socializing (as did many others) in the outside courtyard/fire pit area each evening. Staff were friendly, helpful and relaxed and were very approachable. This is one of Residence Inns nicer properties (and most are very nice to start with). Lots of favorable feedback from our fellow guests. You cant do better than this !
To start, My Wife , Karen, needs to visit the Bayshore, L.I. area for medical reasons. We erroneously booked an overnight stay @ a local motel ( Windham Travel Lodge) . Upon entering the room, We immediately went to the desk Mgr. & DEMANDED a refund. The room was absolutely DISGUSTING ( insects, deteriorated walls, and the bathroom was a nightmare). This was OBVIOUSLY a flea bag, no-tell motel ridden with enough Health Dept. violations to be shut down immediately and brought to the local Courts! There was a shirtless Man, whom was probably a Section 8 tenant, making a drug deal just outside our door. Mind you, it was 20 degrees outside that day. Upon arriving Home, Karens Amex took care of our refund promptly. We met a Woman, a stranger by the name of Nicole who referred us to The Marriott Residence INN and even escorted Us to the Hotel. Upon our arrival, Karen and I were cordially greeted by a Ms. Sabrina Victor and a Mr. Ricky Quinones who thoroughly understood our plight and completed the reservation process within minutes. These two people were so very Sincere when they offered themselves to provide my Wife and I ANYTHING they could do to create a Great experience during our brief visit.Upon entering our room/ SUITE, We were ELATED by the spotless condition of the room and the MANY amenities (ie: Stainless FULL size refrigerator, High end appliances, Terrific T.V. with exceptional cable service, extraordinary shower and bathroom area, Perfect Climate Control and lighting and the most comfortable bed weve slept in during Many visits to all the Hotels weve visited over 25 years.etc., etc., etc.)!During our brief visit, We had the pleasure to also meet one of your dedicated Mgrs. by the name of Mr. Nick Ferraro. Mr. Ferraro exudes personality and a Sincere willingness to provide His Guests with a Terrific experience while staying at their Home away from HomeOur visit could not have been more PERFECT and We implore you to cascade this letter of appreciation to ALL of our aforementioned Staff and The Housekeeping Team!MOST Sincerely, Barry and Karen
Loved this place! Great location, easy to get to. Super clean and spacious. Full Breakfast and heated updated Pool surpassed all expectations. Large refrigerator in room was a bonus. Staff was like Disney staff! They came around the desk to show me how to get to the room and had my key waiting for me. Excellent hotel.
The hotel was clean and safe. The room was beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and affordable. The breakfast was very good. The staff were very nice and helpful, check in took about 2 minutes. The location is great, very easy to get to. I will absolutely stay here every time I go to Long Island. Only complaint was there was no safe. Other than that it was perfect and I’m kind of picky about hotels.
I began my stay here in July after a house fire left me temporarily without a home. Thank goodness for the Residence Inn! I am now in my 7th month being here while my house is being reconstructed, and I can honestly say that the staff here has made me feel at home. Im going to be sad to leave some of the nicest people at the best hotel I have ever stayed. Truly a hidden gem right in Central Islip!
The room looked like a storage room. The carpet looks like it has not been cleaned in months. For sure it needs to be shampooed. The pillows were old. The pool was dirty. The breakfast was ok the eggs were cold. However the staff was nice, very pleasant. Coffee 24 hours in the lobby was great as well.
Good hotel, staff are very welcoming and the apartment we stayed in was very nice.Location felt pretty rural, but if your booking a hotel in the area, Im would imagine youd already know this.Breakfast for a hotel Is unmatched, best Ive had.Would stay again, stayed with this hotel chain multiple times.
I feel like home every time I am in this hotel. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the service is excellent. The breakfast is like no other place I have visited. It is incredible good. You can get an incredible hot breakfast with sausages, bacon, eggs. You also can get different types of cereals, fruits, cheeses and juices. Very good for little children and adults. Also I liked they have hot coffee all day. All staff is very friendly. They are the best!
The room was beautifully set up and the amenities are excellent. The free breakfast was a huge bonus. Everyone working here is super friendly and polite. The only thing I thought was off putting were the throw pillows on the couch smelled super awful. Like someone sweaty sat on them and no amount of febreeze can ever reverse the smell. I say burn them and forget the decorative throw pillows altogether.
I was there this weekend for a wedding. When we arrived there were 200 people in the lobby. As my party was going to the elevator a scale was setup with these body builders were removing their clothing and getting weighted on the scale. The front desk person gave us the wrong room key not once but twice. One of our party was supposed to have a 2 room and they gave them one. Also one of our party had trouble with a sink and a toilet. My party headed down to the pool and we got stuck in the elevator. The pool was so cold it was almost impossible to get it and basically the towels were hand towels. The only good thing is they did comp us for one night. Very poor management here doubt we ever return.
I have stayed every Wednesday for the past 6 months. The staff has been consistently on point with my reservations, mobile check-in, and special requests. The evening snacks and breakfast are generous, well maintained and fresh. The rooms have always been very clean and comfortable. Nothing but an excellent experience with every aspect.
We booked suites for a large wedding group. Each suite had two separate rooms and separate baths, with a common lounge and common kitchen. The suites were very cozy, comfortable, and clean. The complimentary breakfast had various items to choose from. Cleaning services were prompt. I wish I had time to use the gym and pool. Overall, it was an excellent stay.
Beautiful hotel but the wedding we went for scheduled a shuttle service to go every 1/2 hour. When we tried to get on the 5pm shuttle they had us run to the hotel next door where they had no idea what we were talking about. Then when we ran back the man apologized but we still had to drive to the wedding which we had not anticipated. Only later did we find out from the bride and groom that they had paid for a shuttle to go every 30 minutes. Very disappointing and put a damper on what was supposed to be a fun and relaxing evening.
My family and I stayed for a week and had the best experience ever! Front desk is amazing and the housekeeping staff were great. Prices were reasonable. They have a great breakfast in the mornings and different nights have different social dinners. Overall we loved it!
This was the first time we were at Residence Inn. The staff made us feel as though we coming home. Deluxe accomidations and extremely clean. A delicious complimentary breakfast with everything that you could think of eating. I would recommend the Residence Inn to everyone and we will be back the next time were in town. Regards to the staff.
Overall nice layout and decor, but its only skin deep. Walking on the floors shows how sticky they are. My shoes came away with things stuck to them after walking in the kitchenette. My crawling 9 month olds feet were blackend with dirt after being on the carpet for only a few minutes. Ive stayed in lots of hotels with babies before and this has never happened. I do have to commend the staff for being prompt and courteous when my older son wet the bed. I do very much appreciate that. Hard to get over the level of filth though, since its still stuck to my shoes.
The staff, food and room is topnotch and I would encourage anyone to stay there. The only drawback was the internet connection was very slow in the evening because of so many people trying to use it at the same time I think. For an extra sum you can get high speed internet but it just felt about like what a normal speed internet connectrion would be. Everything else at this hotel is great. Clean, friendly and warm environment.
Except for one cranky front desk manager everyone was super nice and welcoming. The kitchen staff made us feel right at home right from the first morning we went down for breakfast. There was one cleaning lady named Janet who made us feel like she was there just for us and couldnt have been more pleasant, we always knew when she cleaned our room! Our family didnt want our vacation to end and the staff made it seem like they were sad to see us go. It was a great feeling, We cant wait to visit again!
Hospitality is often stated, but not very often executed. At our stay at the Residence Inn Long Island Islip, we had a terrific experience with the staff and accommodation. The staff followed through on our requests for a high chair and crib for our grandson. When we checked in, the items were in the room, clean and ready to go. In addition, the staff genuinely were concerned that we were enjoying our visit. They were always smiling and making us feel welcome everytime we came through the door, whether that was leaving in the morning, or returning late at night. They all did a terrific job, and Id like to thank them for their hospitality, warmth, and kindness during our visit.- Thank you!
When my in-laws sold their big home, this became our new home when we came to visit. The staff is VERY accommodating with a FREE breakfast and many little events throughout the week. Its not super fancy but gets 4 stars as its like an apartment you rent for a few nights.
We stayed in the two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite when vacationing in the area with my sister. Worked out great for everyone--the living room and kitchen made great communal space, but the spacious bedrooms/bathrooms ensured alone time and privacy when needed. The accommodations are clean and spacious--beds are super comfortable. The kitchen was outfitted with everything you could need.Breakfast has a lot of variety--each day featured different pastries such as pain du chocolat; there were always three hot dishes (eggs, French toast, turkey sausage, e.g.) as well as waffles, hard-boiled eggs, and all kinds of yogurt, fruit, etc. Kids in particular were enjoying the options of chocolate chips and Nutella to top their waffles. The indoor pool is roomy, and the fitness center well equipped. About the only thing missing is a walking path--it looks as though new condos are going in nearby, so perhaps that can be added at some point. The hotel really seems to have thought carefully about what a traveler needs, and provided it in abundance. The hotel is about a mile or so away from the Central Islip train station; with notice, the hotel will provide you with a shuttle to that station, from which you can make a connection to the airport train (at the Jamaica station).Staff were gracious and welcoming. Overall, an excellent experience.
I have been staying at Residence Inn locations more and more lately and they have been consistently enjoyable. This hotel was clean and pleasant. The staff was very helpful and professional. The fitness center was clean and had up to date equipment. There is also a nice patio to enjoy a cup of coffee or wine. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful.
My boyfriend and I went away for a romantic getaway close to home. The Residence Inn didnt disappoint. The bed was comfortable, wifi fast, breakfast tasty, and staff were top notch! We were impressed how clean, comfortable and quiet this hotel was. We didnt want to leave. Needless to say we will be returning soon. Our experience here were beyond our expectations!
We had an excellent stay at this hotel. Convenient to the LI Ducks Stadium (fire works included!) and both the North Shore and South Shore of Long Island. Rooms were clean, in great shape. Everything worked. Staff were very friendly, helpful and cared about your stay.
This property is not up to Marriott standards. Breakfast was not well run or organized, with food cold and not very good. We ended up going out for breakfast. Even though hotel is not that old, room was not that clean with rug getting worn. Reception not that welcoming. I have stayed in much nicer Marriott properties, if staying in this area would suggest Residence Inn in Happauge on Vets Highway which is newer and I gave 5 stars when I stayed a few months ago. Too bad, because I love Marriott as a chain and as an Elite member am used to better.
Excellent place to stay. The friendliest and most helpful staff Ive had the pleasure of encountering in 20 years of travel! The food is great and the rooms are modern, spacious and clean. You would have to look long and hard to find something in dis-repair and if you did the hotel maintenace staff would hop on it immediately. Very family friendly atmoshere there. Looking forward to my next visit.
Several wedding guests stayed in the lovely suites. All staff was concerned with our needs and comfort. We gathered post-wedding in the lobby to spend an hour of relaxing wind down time. Breakfast was delicious and the waffle station was fun. Our two-bedroom suite was quite spacious and comfortable. I wish I had more time to make use of the pool and fitness club.
We did not know breakfast ended so early and was open for such a short window on Sundays. 7-9:30. We arrived at breakfast at 9:35 and the workers were reaching over our food and making rude comments while trying to clean up. As mentioned, we did not know it ended so early and were not the only ones because there was about 7 other people who came in after we did looking for breakfast. Additionally, the people above us came back to their room at about 3 or 4 am and were very loud. Maybe not intentionally, but there was so much bumping and banging. So the walls are relatively thin. We travel with a noise machine, but the movement was louder than the noise machine. The hotel staff was friendly and the amenities were nice (pool, exercise room, lobby area etc.)
Very positive hotel experience, one of the best in the last 4 years. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us on our two rooms 4 day stay. Breakfast was good, and having chicken on the menu instead of pork the first day was a big plus and our requests were handled in a timely manner!
This hotel has IT ALL! Amenities for the guests, free wine, free beer, free wifi, free pizza, burgers, salads, etc. fully equipped with kitchen appliances and incredible staff. The bedrooms are as comfortable as one could desire. Centric location. Ample parking. Great continental breakfast.
I was very pleased with my hotel experience at this Marriott Residence Inn, this is not the first time I have stayed in a Residence Inn. I love how spacious the rooms are, the free buffet breakfast and indoor pool. I am always pleased with how clean and well maintained the rooms are and if I need to utilize the full size appliances I have them readily available to use. Keep up the good work
Overall a reliable, very good experience. The staff is terrific. The hotel is relatively new (under 5 years) and the overall condition and maintenance of the facility, grounds and rooms are excellent. This is a very well managed hotel where staff and management are always attentive to requests and issues. I have stayed at this property dozens of times since it opened and I can absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area.
My husband and I, along with other family members, have stayed at this location on multiple days over the last week and we were all extremely disappointed. There were 4 rooms rented and were on different floors but, were all of poor quality. Carpets were as old as us, handles were lose or falling off cabinets and furniture, mattress were of the worst/oldest quality and the wall paper was peeling off the walls. The front desk staff were NEVER at reception. You had to wait for them to notice you on the back room cameras to come out. On our last visit, we ended up at the end of the hall toward the stairs by the AREA OF REFUGE. The refuge area had 2 rooms with young adults partying, blasting music and yelling/screaming until after midnight. My husband called and addressed it with the front desk once and was told theyd handle it. It made NO DIFFERENCE. After an hour, I called and was assured hed already spoken to them and sent someone up. After midnight, the 3rd time and our 17mo baby waking to the noise, I personally went downstairs and spoke with the assistant on duty. He apologized and said that I hadnt been the only complaint, he would make sure this was it. Weve never been so disappointed as a Marriott member. We purposely chose that site because of the access to a mini suite/kitchenette with our baby. It is also within 15min of our family. We have ALL agreed that we would NOT return here.
Staying the weekend of Thanksgiving I expected a staff that was crazed and tired. Just the opposite, everybody that we interacted with was friendly and upbeat. Eileen at the front desk provided a take out menu for delicious NY pizza. The main lobby was stylish and comfortable. The suite was spacious and inviting. The complimentary breakfast was well stocked with many options.
After a long day of travel, to get to the hotel, we were greeted well, efficiently checked-in, and offered alternatives for dinner plans, to be delivered. You listed an amazing restaurant that was close by, that was fast and Delicious!Whenever we asked for help the staff were courteous and helpful. The breakfast food, for a hotel buffet was very good and nutritious.Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
I’d have to say I always loved the Marriott hotel for the cleanliness & look of it. It’s sometimes a bit pricey to get at times but when you find a deal you better take it the Internet was fast and quick. The kitchen was perfect ice machine was quick I asked for extra pillows they came quick to the hotel amazing! Love to stay here again when I catch it at the right price!
The Residence Inn is always a decent hotel. This one is not terrible, however, I dislike the parking lot design. The lot is confusing and the neighboring Hotel on the same property makes it worse. There is also a view of the courthouse from this property which makes me want to never stay in this hotel.
Clean with nice staff except in the kitchen. Kitchen staff was rude and did not welcome guest. I was left waiting for items because they were more concerned with their closing time, which there were 10min left. They didnt want to remove or add anything new for guests as they had to leave. Front desk staff was excellent. Housekeeper in the morning was great with an amazing attitude.
This property is absolutely amazing. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I booked as a last minute emergency need, and they were so accommodating. The staff made my kids and I feel so welcome and comfortable there. I will definitely be staying again, even if at another Residence Inn.
We stayed 14 days at the Residence Inn and the first week was great. However, the second week, either the staff believed we didnt need to be impressed anymore or they might have been overworked. Housekeeping took shortcuts and room cleaning was oftentimes incomplete. Once we brought it to their attention, the problem was fixed.Front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and comfortable. Its not the best location for socializing. But, the hotel makes a good attempt with their afternoon socials.
No restaurant on site is difficult when not wanting to leave the area. The bistro in the sister hotel next door is very minimal. No hot tub but did have a nice fire pit area. Difficult to find hotel during baseball game next door cause main road was shut down. Rooms were wonderful. Very clean and spacious. Great staff.
My family and I decided to stay here overnight because we had a early morning graduation and had no desire to drive in the hectic rush hour traffic. The best decision we made. We got there early and hopped then relaxed before having our busy day. We got up and had a great breakfast then drove 3 minutes to the graduation. Other family members who did not stay overnight did experience the traffic and accidents. Not us, we had a non-stressful experience.
Recently stayed at this property for 6 nights during a work assignment. The staff at this property is exceptional! The property is clean and updated. I had a view of the Baseball. Park and one night, there was a little fire works display. Pretty much everything about this property perfectly fit my needs.I love the local Food truck on Wednesday. I cannot recall the name if the vendor but it was great. My only complaint is when I usually check into a Marriott property, I am always welcomed as a Platinum member, asked if I would like points or a Market Beverage. This did not occur here. No acknowledge of my Platinum status upon check-in. After driving 7 hours to get to Long Island, I was looking forward to a cold Ice tea. I also noticed one day I was charged for 3 Market Place drinks and I only had 2. I should have reviewed my bill before I left for home.
The room was very clean and spacious. I had a studio and had plenty of room. There is a fridge and microwave available in the room. I had the complimentary breakfast which was pretty good, and a good value for the room.My complaints concern the flooring in the room and the dumpster emptying service. The floors are carpeted, but whatever is underneath the carpet makes a thudding sound and vibration every time you walk. I heard the person in the room above me each time they took a step. It is loud enough that you cant ignore it.My room was located on the side where the hotel dumpsters are at. The trash truck arrived at around 4am to empty the dumpsters. Obviously, these trucks are very loud and the process of the truck lifting the dumpster and emptying it is loud as well. I was awoken by this. I recommend the hotel relocate the dumpsters to an area not so close to guest rooms, or to schedule the removal at a time later in the day, when guests are likely not sleeping.Other than that, it was a good stay.
This is a great location . Very easy to get to but just far enough away from the major highways to allow for a quiet stay. Terrific facilities and lobby. Rooms are very clean and very large and comfortable. A perfect location for staying in central Long Island. I look forward to our return stay in September for my sons wedding.
This property is exceptionally managed. The staff were extremely helpful from the front desk to the maintenance crew. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was adequate and the 3 nightly socials which included finger foods and drinks was a nice option to relax after a long work day.
I have stayed at this hotel at least 1night per week for the past 1½ years. They have consistenly performed in an acommodating and professional manner. This is an execellent property for business or leisure. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean comfortable and practical for long or short stays. Pleanty of onsite parking. The location is not far from local businesses, beach and shopping. Great minor league baseball in the summer within walking distance.
While the hotel itself and the various areas were clean and well cared for, the complimentary breakfast left much to be desired. We were presented with horribly petrified scrambled eggs in the steam table, stuck together slices of Canadian bacon and of all things chicken sausage (ugh). The oatmeal was watery. The various compliments were plentiful but not well presented. As to your make it yourself waffles, the area was a bit of a mess and who wants to make their own waffles? The staff however were attentive and polite. You just need a better chef and an attendant who can cook to order as other hotels do.
Thank you to Eileen for making our stay wonderful! We were here for a funeral and Eileen went out of her way to accommodate us with everything. When your dealing with the loss of a loved one, there are many things going on, but Eileen took the stress off of us at the hotel, she took care of everything and she was very kind. I may never meet her again, but I hope she knows how much we appreciated her and that her kindness was so appreciated!
Booked your 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite. Invited 2 of my grand children over for a sleep over. We all had a ball. Brought in take out food. Went swimming, played games, used fitness center, played hide and seek, put them to bed watching 10 minutes of TV from their bed, and had breakfast in the morning. Great bonding experience.
My husband and I stayed 4 nights here and would definitely stay again. The hotel and our room was very clean and well furnished. All of the staff were friendly and professional. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job as everything was neat, clean, and well stocked.
Each time I travel to LI, I stay at this Residence Inn. Its always exceptionally clean and well kept. The social events are great - the complimentary food and beverage that save you from having to leave again is of great benefit. The staff is always pleasant to work with and friendly. Rooms are comfortable. I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
Maybe its a NY thing, but the staff werent at all friendly, any request or question seemed to be a bother for them to answer or accommodate, and this is the only Marriott property that I have experienced this at. Come to think of it, maybe its just this location because when I stayed a few nights at the Marriott Marquis Times Square the staff there were exemplary! So not a NY thing. The facility and rooms were very very nice, clean and beautiful, with very comfortable beds, but all Marriotts are like that. Ladies if you need to do make-up or make sure every strand of hair on your head is in place, you might want to use a mirror outside, the lighting in the bathrooms are quite low, but if you are basing your stay on cleanliness, comfort and beauty, this is the place!
Stayed at this Residence Inn to be near the beach. Very nice, clean, and friendly hotel super close to the beach. Shopping center on the same road with a Target and restaurants. Awesome location. My only problem was though the staff was nice, they may not have followed up on things. I asked for an extra towel in my room and upon returning later in the day it was not there. The next morning I housekeeping in the hallway and I asked them directly before heading out. It was there when I returned later that evening. Not a big deal, but I then arrived home and realized I lost my watch. I called twice and the front desk said someone from housekeeping would call me, but never heard back from anyone. Dont believe I actually lost it there, was just ruling it out, a return phone call wouldve been nice though.
Rooms are nice and spacious. Breakfast is good and has variety every morning. The Wifi (marriot member sign in) is terrible. I kept losing internet on my phone and work computer. It made it difficult to do anything. Front desk is friendly and greets you when you come and go.
No worries when you check-in to this amazing locale. With great access to Southern State parkway, this hotel is clean, spacious and the amenities all work. The staff are professional, courteous and really make you feel at home. I travel a significant amount for business and personal and I cant say enough good things about this hotel. Highly recommend.
This hotel provided a quiet and comfortable hideaway to relax. The hotel staff was friendly , helpful and accommodating from my initial arrival until my departure. The property is aesthetically beautiful and has a definite home away from home feeling to it. I will definitely return to relax throughout the year.
The location of this hotel is ideal for being central to many area. The staff were incredibly friendly; except during the checkout phase. I gave the sole person at the front desk one task - please have my portfolio ready for checkout in 10 minutes, I’ll come by then. Then I showed up, the ten minutes later, and he was on the phone in the back office, for ten more minutes. Then he came out, and first did the beginning of checking me out. The lobby was empty. It was 7:30 in the morning. He was totally indifferent to the inconvenience he caused. Only Mo-We does this hotel have lobby gatherings for drinks and food - this was very unfortunate because I arrived late Wed (it was over), and I checked out early Mon. So I missed it all the while I was there (compared to other R.I.’s, they seem to be cutting corners). I asked for extra towels on my reservation, but they weren’t there at arrival. My room key dropped its electronic re-entry, daily. I complained, and the front desk asked me if I had it near my cellphone (which I did not), then a different attendant admitted I was being shown as checking out “days” before my reservation had me leaving.
Wonderful new Residence Inn! Friendly staff, nice decor, outside fire pit, nice work out room. Convenient to the state and federal court complex. Left my phone charge and the staff found it and immediately mailed it to me! Evening social had nice food, beer, wine and soda...nice for a single traveler like me. Complimentary breakfasts were generous with something for everyone, highly recommend staying at this Residence Inn!

2022-05-01The check in went very smooth! The front desk has been very friendly and welcoming! Sabrina at the front desk made sure we were having a wonderful stay! It smells fresh and clean in the halls. The room was very clean. I love the amenities, specifically the gym and outdoor patio area with the fire place. It’s my first time here and I will definitely recommend and come back for future stays! The rooms are very spacious for families. They also have a basketball court provided with a ball at the front desk of the kiddies get bored.

2022-02-26Ive stayed at this hotel numerous times including before, during and current covid times. This and the building next door (courtyard) are some of the newer hotels around suffolk county. If your traveling and not a local, there is a target down the road and walmart and supermarket a little further down. Ive never had a problem with my rooms, always clean, ac or heat always worked, tv , shower everything was fine. No mold no bugs none of that. The staff has always been very nice. The only issue this hotel has seems to be in the warmer months or near holidays (valentines/4th of july) people having hotel parties.... during one of my stays last year there was a pretty big party but the staff had them removed. I stayed recently and there was not a peep! I would recommend, and will be staying again.

2021-10-14We did a wedding block with this hotel for two night and it was beyond perfect! All of their rooms were very spacious and filled with natural sunlight. The entire building is extremely clean and covid-19 compliance. Their staff are very kind and knowledgeable. We had the honor of working with Julianne during our wedding process and she made us felt at ease throughout. They offer a continental breakfast with lots of options! Our overall experience was everything we anticipated. Thank you!

2021-10-09We were in town visiting family after a wedding in upstate. We had the two bedroom suite which worked out for our 2 couple family. I was very shocked to see that discounts weren’t able to be applied to that suite but I appreciated the hotel working with us to accommodate our request. The room was very clean and offered plenty of space for us. The beds were comfortable. The sofa was a bit stiff and not comfortable for relaxing. The team at the front desk was always friendly. We didn’t have any problem with no maid service but did make a couple requests for towels and toilet paper but never received any. We made do though. We truly enjoyed our stay and will happily stay here again on our next trip.

2021-07-25Wonderful StayI arrived a few minutes before actually check in and was greeted by a very friendly and courteous concierge. She was very helpful in printing out information for my next day Fire Island trip. While waiting for her to finish with another customer she let me know coffee or tea was available while i waited. The aesthetic of the hotel entrance and sit down area is quite impressive. I truly enjoyed that my room had a full fridge microwave, oven and even a dishwasher. I was able to go to the nearby target and buy items to leave in the fridge to use in my time staying there.August 2020

2021-11-06This place is amazing! The beds are comfortable and the hotel is clean. The manager Sabrina attended to every detail of our stay and she did it with a smile in her face and a song in her heart. Derrick her mentee was also very kind and accommodating. I highly recommend this place and tell Sabrina she received high remarks in her professionalism.

2021-10-21In town for a wedding. Little mix up caused us to be reserved at this facility rather than 1 a little closer to the venue.Great luck for us. Place was spotless (gf is a neat freak) front staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Room overlooked the LI Ducks stadium - wish we could have caught a game :) I travel a lot and have to say there was ZERO wrong with this place.Id give the stay a 10/10

2021-08-24We stayed here the night before and night of our wedding. We also booked the conference room for the afterparty - the staff were exceptionally attentive and responsive throughout the whole process from the months leading up to the event (where we set-up the room block, booked the conference room) to just before the event (handing out guest bags, allowing us set-up in advance and store food in the fridge/freezer) and during the actual stay (super attentive to our party and our guests needs). All in all, the hardwork of Julianne and the whole staff really helped to make the event a great success

2021-05-17Great location close to our event. Seemed kind of dated. Did not seem very clean. We cleaned and disinfected on our own. We had 2 rooms. One smelled as though someone had smoked in the room, and it was a bit bothersome. Other than that it was ok. Cannot list this as a favorite by a longshot, and the price was a bit high for an event stay. But if you are a Marriot fan this is fine for a quick stay.
