We stayed at the Rosemont Inn for one night as a place to stay on a road trip home. We’re very glad we chose to stay here instead of one of the chain hotels closer to the 90 (the inn is under 5 minutes from the interstate). We stayed in the Othello room and it was very clean and comfortable and Venus was friendly and helpful. We don’t travel to Utica often, but would definitely stay here again!
This experience was a great one. I am from Texas and I am working in the area and wanted to bring my wife here for her birthday and escape the Corporate structure of Hotels. It was calm, peaceful, easy and very idealistic for a relaxing time. The bathrooms were amazing. The whole property was charming and full of history, and me being from Texas we thoroughly enjoy breakfast. The owner was very open to breakfast ideas each morning and made some astounding farm fresh items. Her special recipe muffins are the best Ive ever tried! Would recommend.
Rosemont inn bed & Breakfast was exactly what I was looking for. I had to take a early morning exam at the state building and live 4 hours away. I got there the day before and studied for most of the night in a nice quiet atmosphere. Rita was very nice and gave great recommendations for local dinner. Definitely recommend👍
The Inn is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, decorated beautifully. The new showers are fantastic. I was happy to learn that the pillows are sold at the Inn. I treated myself to a new pillow and have slept fantastic the last few nights. Breakfast is outstanding, from the quiche, to the muffins and baked apple , you will.be looking forward to the next morning. Rita is a wonderful host she makes you feel very welcome. I will definitely be back soon.
The Rosemont Inn is a beautiful and comfortable. Rita, the innkeeper is so lovely and accommodating. She really goes the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The beds were heavenly and the home cooked breakfast each morning in the charming dining room was such a delicious treat and a great way to start the day. We would absolutely recommend this beautiful Inn!
I stayed in the Othello and the shower was amazing!!! It’s a 2 person shower with a king size bed. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash was provided and I must say some of the best body wash I ever used! Order some that night to my surprise the package was there when I got home but it is made locally in VA where I’m from. Great selection on teas and plenty of coffee. They provide many French presses around to make the coffee and tea and I love there custom made mugs that I bought two. Breakfast had my day started right! You can tell they take pride in everything thing! It’s all in the details.I was there for my grandfather’s funeral but with the city and Rosemont Inn giving me such a home like vibe it made this sad occasion into a great memory. You definitely get more then what you pay for in my opinion.
My friend and I came here for a quick night away and had the best time! The home is beautiful and Ritas hospitality was warm and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and our room was quiet and allowed for a comfortable nights sleep. We would definitely recommend Rosemont Inn to friends and family and hope to be back soon!
What a lovely surprise on our trek to Vermont to retrieve my daughters belongings from college. Rita and Grace were wonderful...from greeting us late the evening of our arrival to our early departure. Our room was nice but the bathroom was exceptional! We left with our stomachs full of Ritas locally sourced and tasteful breakfast. Thank you so much...we enjoyed our overnight stay and truly appreciated speaking with you about the local area.
This is a charming inn. It is extremely clean and the innkeeper (Rita) is welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was a homemade frittata,, juice, muffin, coffee and yogurt with banana and granola. It was delicious. I had asked for a 9:00 time, but actually was an hour late because my clock had not changed from central to eastern time. Even though breakfast ended at 9:30, Rita still made mine at 10 and was very gracious about it. I got an excellent nights sleep and enjoyed the amazing shower in the Othello Room. The only drawback to this inn is its locatation. The surrounding areas seemed questionable to me. Despite this, I would stay there again.
The rooms were beautiful and tastefully decorated. The breakfasts were particularly excellent! Their signature muffins and chicken sausage were out of this world! The innkeepers were wonderful at accommodating our late arrival, and they were incredibly conscientious regarding my fiancé’s food allergy. There were thoughtful touches such as providing a variety of tea, coffee, other beverages, as well as snacks 24/7. We stayed in the Solitude Suite which was a wonderful escape! The shower was particularly luxurious. I recommend availing yourself of the two hour massage - Grace, my massage therapist, put together a treatment that was tailored to my needs. Everyone was very careful about keeping everything clean and sanitized, as well as ensuring that their guests were properly socially distanced without being an inconvenience or disrupting our stay in any way. We haven’t been able to have a getaway since Covid hit, so when we had to travel for work we looked for a place that was more of an “experience” instead of a chain hotel. The Rosemont gave us a delightful and welcome respite and we heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely, charming, romantic stay.
First of all I want to say that I WAS very excited to stay at the Rosemont because of it’s Victorian style, coming in from a small town outside of Rochester NY to visit former coworkers of my husband and I. The lady (owner) who answered the phone was very friendly and appeared be try happy that we were staying. We arrived and were greeted into our room, and showed around. There were a variety of people there with no SHOES no SOCKS walking around the house which I thought was quite disgusting to be honest. It was the owners family. I believe that if the family lives in the bed and breakfast they should stay in a separate are of the building and greet guests attentively and politely. My husband felt clearly uncomfortable. The smell in the room was quite bothersome. The beds were NOT comfortable there was creaking throughout the night. We had breakfast in the morning the yogurt parfait was lousy and the sausage with waffles were okay at best. For the price we paid we were disappointed. The owner was a lovely lady. I wish she controlled her family a little more.
I had a lovely, comfortable and welcoming overnight stop at Rosemont Inn in Utica. The house is a beautifully preserved graceful old Victorian era home, while my room had a thoroughly upgraded bathroom with all the modern attachments. The coffee station in the room was way above the norm that youd find in an ordinary hotel. I slept very soundly and woke to a delicious breakfast. Kudos to Rita and Grace, and I hope to stay there again.
A gem in the center of Utica, a culturally-rich city. The Rosemont Inn is an exceptional value: great breakfast, warm atmosphere, and relaxing rooms. The historic location hosts several rooms with updated bathrooms that add to the historic charm of the Inn. I enjoyed the stay as much as the the conversation with the Innkeeper. She knows her history of Utica and is willing to share. Well most certainly be back to enjoy another visit.
My husband and I stayed at the Rosemont Inn on our trip biking the Erie Canal. We absolutely loved it! The decor had been recently redone and it is beautiful. The bedroom was very comfortable and the bath was nicely renovated. I would definitely stay there again if we travel through Utica.I also had a massage by Grace after the third day of a five day, 275 mile bike ride. She did an amazing job asking how I was feeling and concentrated on the areas where I really needed it. She did some cupping on my shoulders to get into some deep knots that Ive never been able to get rid of before. I think having a great massage midway through my ride was a tremendous help. When we finished I wasnt too sore or tight, but my husband, who didnt have a massage, was sore for a few days after. I highly recommend Grace and the Rosemont Inn!
My boyfriend and I booked this place for a weekend for our Anniversary. Right during the second spike of Covid and had amazing time! We stayed at the Solitude suite. It was cozy, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom is beautifuly upgraded with all modern conveniences. Everything was very clean. They actually use UV light to sanitize on top of just regular cleaning. They had a cute coffee/tea set up in the room and two drinking stations in the house. Rita is an owner and keeper of the house and she was as sweet as helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. She also cooked the breakfasts for us and served in the beautifully updated formal dining room with a fireplace. She uses local fresh ingredients and it was as delicious, as pretty to look at. I gotta say, you really get a very good deal at this place. Not only you get a room for a price of a regular hotel, but the breakfast is included. We recently had a trip to finger lakes area and stayed in a few hotels. Because of Covid most places would serve a muffin in a plastic and some coffee, you wont get anything hot or cooked from scratch. So staying in this B&B was a real treat and a unique and pleasant experience! The house is beautiful, full of all charm. Rita did an amazing job updating the place while keeping the original details of the house. The house felt cozy and historic and at the same time was still comfortable, convenient and clean!
I was looking for a last minute booking as my partner and I were making a very long drive from Toronto to Hudson, New York. We had picked Utica as a destination to stop and rest before continuing on the next morning and the Rosemont Inn popped up on my google search. I’m so happy it did! Rita was extremely helpful on the phone and was nice enough to accommodate our late night/early morning check-in time. Our room was beautiful, the bed extremely comfortable and the breakfast was a tasty way to start the next day. I highly recommend this place to anyone passing through or staying for an extended period, especially if you value a personal touch.
I had the pleasure of staying 3 days here at the Rosemont. My room was Solitude and it was perfect for me, and afforded me the rest I needed. Rita, the owner was super friendly and accommodating. The in house massage by Grace was impeccable, among the best Ive experienced. The house was very clean and well kept, adequate parking, and delicious breakfast each morning. I have recommended this inn to everyone I know thus far, and will continue to do so. I hope to return someday soon.
Perfectly lovely stay with unique amenities at this historic B&B! Architecture lovers will be bowled over by the grand Rosemont Inn, which hearkens back to an earlier time. Foodies will appreciate Ritas delicious cooking, which makes use of local produce, dairy, even grains right down to the heirloom flour! A three course breakfast is worth getting up for--though Rita encourages late sleeping in--and afternoon treats are really special. (Ask for the homemade black and white cookies!) There were clawfoot tubs in our rooms, great for soaking, and Rita makes handmade bath salts complete with relaxing, essential oils. You might not think such a luxurious place would be kid-friendly, but Rita welcomes them, and even put an extra air mattress in one room so our kids could sleep separately. I hope I get to come back--we spent a great, memorable night at the Rosemont Inn.
Our room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. All the little extra special amenities (single serve coffee press in our room) where just wonderful. The breakfast was so yummy. Best of all our innkeeper and daughter made us feel so welcome. I highly recommend that if you are near Utica New York and need a place to stay and feel pampered you book a room at the Rosemont Inn Bed & Breakfast.
Great hospitality and lovely accommodations. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and updated. My boyfriend called ahead and requested my favorite breakfast items that were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend Rosemont Inn over cookie cutter hotels for proper rest, relaxation and a unique experience.
We had a lovely evening at the Rosemont. The host is knowledgeable and gracious. They provided us with a great recommendation for dinner. The bed was comfortable and there was AC in the room. AC was important that evening as temperatures were in the 90s. There was also a ceiling fan that helped keep us cool. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I recommend the Rosemont for travelers through Utica.
This was our first B&B stay and set the bar sky high. The entire house managed to be open and clean, while remaining charming and cozy. The highlight had to be breakfast! Rita was so thoughtful and accommodating to food intolerances. Every course was delicious! Many ingredients were locally sourced and/or natural/organic. I can’t say enough good things about Rosemont!
Much more comfortable than a hotel at the same price point. Lovingly restored old home in a great location. The staff was helpful and welcoming and the breakfast breakfasts were wonderful. The bedding was so comfortable that I had to check the tags so I can order a set for myself.
If I could give 10 stars I would. Just left here . Came for a long weekend for our 5 year anniversary . Everything was perfect, stunning home & property, great location, very comfortable room, that tub!, fresh peanut butter cookies & beautiful Roses waiting in my room. 3 course breakfast each morning was delicious, fresh fabulous coffee( best decaf Ive had) when ever we wanted it, even heating up our leftovers & letting us eat in the dining room. Our hosts were so accommodating & wonderfully sweet. Like staying with family.
Stayed here for two nights because of the excellent reviews. I dont stay in a lot of B&Bs so maybe its just me but I thought the stay was just average. The breakfast was good but not spectacular, the rooms were ok but a little frayed around the edges. The one thing that absolutely drove me mad was the bed. It was in dire need of replacement and caused both my wife and I to have back aches in the morning. The bed also squeaked loudly with every movement and the walls were paper thin so you heard everything going on in the next room... and I mean everything. The claw-foot tubs that everyone mentioned are great if you like shower curtains sticking to your body throughout your shower. Bed was a deal breaker for me and everything else just had some issue that detracted from the whole experience. Next time I will look for a more comfortable experience.
We had a lovely time at the Rosemont Inn B & B! On a freezing cold evening, they offered warm hospitality, great conversation, and a cozy, beautiful room for our overnight stay. They helped us with suggestions for a place to eat that evening, and served us a delicious breakfast the next morning. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back the next time we find ourselves in or near Utica.
Beautiful, comfortable, well kept house. Clean room, large windows with a spacious bathroom. Old iron tub with shower and steaming hot water. Breakfast. I had booked at the last-minute, and staff was helpful and accommodating. Wish I could have stayed for a while longer?
Owners were very nice, breakfasts were very good and they asked if anyone had any allergies, our room was very nice and the bathroom was huge. I like the clawfoot tub but not a fan of making it a shower. I dont like having shower curtains coming to me. We enjoyed our stay.
If you are expecting great service, try someplace else. After watching 2 women in their 70s struggle up the steps(no adequate handrail) the owner told us to get our bags before showing us to our rooms. When she heard me complain to my friend her response was If you needed help you should have asked! After returning from dinner we found an older couple sitting outside on the porch with their bags. They had arrived and they couldnt get in. There was a note on the door for them to text when they got there. They were from the UK and couldnt text. We texted for them and the owner came down to get the. I didnt ask them how long they had been waiting, but it wasnt a very friendly way to start their stay. You dont have a choice for breakfast. She serves what she wants. Not great food.
The Rosemont Inn is a beautiful historic home right in the heart of Utica. The room was quite comfortable, the sitting room very inviting and breakfast the next morning was excellent. And there were many good places for dinner up and down the main street, Utica has really embraced fresh local food.
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely b&b. our roo. was very comfy. the whole house is beautifully decorated. we had a yogurt parfait, an egg & veggie quiche and some toadt. the coffee was so delicious, possibly the best coffee Ive ever had. they even had room for us to pull our 5th wheel trailer in and park. the owners were so kind and friendly.
LOVELOVELOVE. We hosted a private retreat here for special needs moms, and it was AMAZING. The inn is stunning and well-kept, the innkeepers are friendly, kind, and generous. On-site massage FABULOUS, wish every inn had that! Will definitely return, no matter what time of year! Thank you Rosemont Inn!

2022-04-07We (couple) loved this place! We stayed only a short while. We arrived around 9 pm and called shortly before to make the reservation as we were traveling across the country. They were very accommodating and allowed us to bring in our mountain bikes to store for the night. The historic and Victorian feel were enjoyable. The decor and details are hard to miss. We stayed in the lavender room, which was super cute. The bed and bedding was soft and comfortable. In the morning, we enjoyed the loose leaf tea, coffee, and breakfast (root vegetable hash was amazing and they accommodated being vegetarian). We would definitely recommend this place and would stay again if we were in the area.

2022-06-13We loved this Inn! The Chantilly room was beautifully appointed and the the bath, with claw foot tub and soaring windows, was astounding. The breakfast provided by the owners was beyond imagination. The attention to detail throughout the Inn, from the individual Bodum coffee and tea presses, to the care taken to preserve the Inn’s Victorian details, to the gorgeous gardens and plantings, gives the Inn and area a new life. There was a bit of street noise from cars (on a Wednesday night). We would definitely return!

2022-03-21The rooms were very clean and the bathroom was amazing seriously the shower was just great. And Rita was the absolutely sweetest host ever! She responded to me in a timely manor when it came to online communication and We overslept and missed breakfast and she offered to still make it for us! We didn’t take her up on the offer since we were in a hurry, but it smelled divine. Would 100% recommend!

2021-08-03My wife and I enjoyed our one night stay while we visited a sick relative. Our first floor room was spacious and had a nicely appointed bathroom. We had a our German Shepherd with us and the room had plenty of room for him to stretch our on the floor and was convenient for access to the the large yard.Rita prepared a lovely breakfast and was kind enough to share the history of the house. It was nice to stay in a special place.

2021-10-07My sister and I stayed here one night on a road trip, and overall had a very pleasant stay. The B&B was very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic! The building is an old victorian and these buildings have their quirks, but I enjoy staying in them in spite of this. The guests above us were a bit noisy, and our bed was a bit squeaky, but super comfortable. The location was pretty close to an area with plenty of restaurants for dinner, and I felt safe in the area.

2021-07-16My wife and I have now stayed at the Rosemont Inn twice. Both times Rita provided the Lagerfeld room, which is delightful and comfortable. The house itself is immense and lovely. The parlor is a great place to spend an evening with friends talking or playing board games, not unlike what it might have been in the nineteenth century.Probably the best feature of the establishment is its breakfasts, the dining room, and of course, its proprietors, Rita and Grace. Each meal is a five-star offering every time. Rita is a polite, friendly joy of a person happy to converse with her guests or let them have their solitude.I highly recommend the Rosemont Inn Bed and Breakfast!Randy N

2020-09-15I feel refreshed and rejuvenated after 3 nights at the Rosemont Inn where I spent time for a Respite Retreat for mothers of children with special needs. This time was so restorative, amd Im grateful to Rita and Grace for the hospitality, beautiful clean space, delicious food, and amazing massage.I stayed in their room named Chantilly. The decor, in soft gray tones, was so comfortable and relaxing. The bathroom was large, with a clawfoot tub and shower. There was a nice sitting area, and an enormous tv that I enjoyed as I rested! The bed was so comfy, with soft satiny sheets and a wonderfully heavy comforter.Ritas breakfasts were fantastic!! She uses all local resources in her cooking, which you can taste. So fresh and delicious! Their hospitality was impressive, and I felt welcome as soon as I arrived. This is definitely one B&B you want to put on your list as must visit!
