Jonathan is an excellent and professional stylist! I have naturally long curly hair, and have been seeing him for a few years now typically for a “Silky Smooth Blowdry.” He never misses the mark with straightening and styling in a way that maintains hair health. What I appreciate most as a “curly girl,” is that his cuts look good whether my hair is curly or straight. I must note that on 6/4/22, I was originally booked for a curly cut only but, my plans changed for an event the next day and needed a different look. I called the salon in advance to notify them and Jonathan of the change. Despite the time allotment required for the booking (straightening being longer), he accommodated me. I appreciate the consistency and ease that comes with seeing him for hair appointments. Tip: He books up fast so, lock in an appointment with him as soon as possible or in advance of an occasion. I will continue to use him as my stylist for years to come…
Jackie did a phenomenal job on my hair. I have never colored my hair and the caramel tones against my dark hair looks stunning along with a beautiful haircut. The staff was so friendly and just lovely all around. Thank you, Jackie!!! I can’t wait to go back!

My mother and I have been going to this salon for some years now. Their service has deteriorated drastically. My mom is an elderly disabled woman, last Friday when she went for her appointment, she waited at the door, in her wheelchair, but no one bothered to help her. No one opened the door, put out the ramp so that she could be wheeled in. After waiting and not getting any service she left. It is disheartening that a neighborhood business cannot do right by the elderly and disabled. Weve been there before, and usually the staff is friendly and nice, but this last time it was pathetic. I went to the salon the following day to speak with the manager, and he said he didnt have a ramp, which is false. So, we will no longer use this salon, they do no care about their customers. What a shame!
Always love seeing Juan and he did everything I wanted perfectly! He educates me on how to care for my hair best too. & So fun to chat with :)
The whole crew- Jen, Arie, and especially Juan- were absolutely amazing with our 3 year old daughter who hates getting her hair detangled, washed & styled because she had a LOT of super fine tight curls that tangle as soon as you finish detangling. We were back in town visiting from Texas and the salon agreed to help even though she is 3. What we all expected to take 1 1/2 to 2 hours max ended up taking 3 hours and there were 3 people working on her hair for part of it. She was inconsolable and Jen came up with a brilliant idea to let her spray water at the mirror and aim at each of us while detangling was happening. Then Arie kept coming over to comfort her while Juan was trying to wash her hair and both Jen and Juan kept detangling. And when she was moving her head so much it was hard to get the two part twists done, Juan was so patient, kind and gentle with our girl. We stayed well past when they should have closed but never once did anyone make us feel bad. We couldn’t be more thankful for the kindness and care they gave us, especially this tired mama who needed the help.
Absolutely love what Diamond has done with my hair, she has worked magic with cut and color - and have had fantastic experiences with Juan too. The whole team makes it a great experience to be there!
Jonathan is my daughter’s introduction to having her hair cared for and he has set the bar high. She leaves him feeling great and also has the added bonus of having her curls poppin’. We keep coming back to Jonathan!
I called this place in the morning asking for a quick bang trim appointment in the afternoon, they were so sweet and booked me right away! Tiffany was my stylist and she did a great job on my bang trim! :)

I barely leave reviews but I feel this time is necessary.I visited 718-Myrtle salon this afternoon to get a bob haircut for my birthday. Juan, a hairstylist level II, told me confidently that he knew how to do bob haircuts. Before he did my hair, I showed him some pictures of the bob cut I wanted. A bob is a rather complex haircut that uses various tools to create a 45-degree angle from the nape of the neck. Unfortunately, Juan did a terrible job. The haircut he performed looks extremely sloppy and uneven; very poorly done. I had to ask him to stop cutting my hair because it was obvious to me that he did not know the technique to do this type of haircut at all! Juan even had the nerve to recommend that I visit Hair & Co BKLYN to fix the haircut he did! I was not charged for the haircut for obvious reasons. I doubt this haircut can be fixed. I am very upset and disappointed with 718-Myrtle salon. Based on the bob haircut Juan attempted to do for me, I really doubt he ever graduated as a hairstylist.7/11/22 - UPDATE - After writing my negative review, I received a call from Salon 718 - Myrtle and we set up a time for me to come back to have my haircut fixed. Jaqueline was the hair stylist assigned to do my hair, this time. Unfortunately, I couldnt have the long bob cut that I initially wanted, for obvious reasons, but Jaqueline did a good job fixing my hair cut. Jacqueline showed good customer service skills and was very professional. I will recommend Jaqueline to do my hair next time. I give Jaqueline 4 starts. I really do love this place & recommend for people who keep their hair platinum blonde! Ive been going here since pre-COVID and used to get my hair done by Kai (double process + retouches) so was sad to hear that she left. After she left the salon, I tried getting my hair bleached at another (very highly rated) salon in Brooklyn, but the color just didnt lift how I wanted it to and I wasnt satisfied. Came back to Salon 718 for my latest double process retouch. Alyssa did my hair this time, and it came out great! She managed to fix the unevenness in the bleach from the other salon, lifted my hair to a beautiful shade, and I left with my hair feeling smooth instead of crunchy! Will be coming back for sureEDIT/UPDATE: yes, i still love this salon. Liv was my most recent stylist and in the 5+ years of lightening my hair, i have NEVER had such a perfect and flawless lift to platinum as I did here recently! my natural hair is brown so im used to walking out of salons with yellow/orange patches in my hair and poorly toned blonde color, but Liv took extra care to make sure I got the color mix that I wanted and she blended my roots with the rest of my lightened hair so perfectly. I dont know why I ever try going to other salons, because at Salon 718 they get it perfect every time. They also use Olaplex products which work really well with my hair, and it saves me a trip to Sephora to stock up on my haircare stuff. As someone who usually is never ever satisfied with salon service for maintaining my blonde hair, Im blown away by how careful and skilled the stylists are here. The bleach mixture didnt irritate my head and still, Liv managed to lift and tone my hair to the most beautiful silver-blonde color. The salon is also inclusive of all hair textures and types. As someone with wavy/porous and color-treated damaged hair, I will always recommend this salon!

Amazing salon and I get the best haircut from Kai! Will definitely be returning! Super professional and doing everything they could to keep the place safe during these crazy pandemic times. Unfortunately, one client thought it was okay for her unmasked children to run around -- super disrespectful to the staff and other clients. Please, dont bring your kids if you dont have to.Update: Recently came back for a hot styling appointment before a wedding I was attending. Diamonique did my styling and made me look amazing!! I was client of Kai’s at Salon 718 for 2 years and always had an exceptional experience. Whatever salon she relocated to is very lucky. The 2 star review is only based on my experience with Tiffany. Salon 718 as a whole gets 5 stars!Today I came in after 2 years of going natural and wearing protective styles.I came in to retouch my roots black, wash/treatment, blow dry and finish with 2 cornrow braids to prepare for my next round of knotless braids. I ended up wanting a trim as well.My appointment was with Tiffany. I never leave reviews but I feel this is necessary. Her attitude was extremely poor. Her energy was unwelcoming, negative and rude. I still tipped 25% because the woman (LIV) who did my detangling and wash was amazing. I wanted her to take over my services but didn’t want to be rude by asking. I wish my tip could only go to her.I’m not sure what it’s called in the hair/beauty industry but Tiffany showed zero sense of “bedside manners”. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable while receiving a service. Much less a self care service totaling $359.22. What makes it hurt even more is that this is coming from another black woman. It really made me sad. There’s so much I could say about how negative her energy/attitude was.At one point she asked Liv about what the other girls were doing downstairs and told her to tell them to come up because they need all hands on deck (with attitude). Liv replied she didn’t feel comfortable getting involved and asked if she could “stay out of it” and take over blow drying me instead. Tiffany sternly replied “NO YOU CAN TELL THEM TO COME UPSTAIRS”. Liv comes back up and says that their shift didn’t even start yet, they still have at least 5 more minutes. Tiffany was acting as if they were on the clock neglecting the shop but didn’t even check the time. Let the girls prepare for their shift in peace.She ignored me multiple times, didn’t blow out my roots enough, they were still damp and didn’t trim my ends with precision at all. She also tied a rubber band at my ends as tight as possible. I had to ask her to take it off and she had to cut it off. Why would you do that? No way I could cut it off myself without cutting my hair so why set me up for that without asking? Poor communication. Poor service. I’m glad I had my dog with me for emotional support and Liv radiating positive energy. Thank you Liv! The shop is lucky to have you.I’m extremely disappointed. I hope Tiffany gets better training because it really makes me sad to experience service like that first hand and I wouldn’t want anyone else to feel the way I did.
It was my first time with Juan for a haircut and I simply loved the experience! Juan was very patient and showed a genuine interest in creating a cut that would be easy for me to manage. A big take away for me was he made me appreciate my natural wave. So so looking forward to my next visit with Juan!

I can’t say enough about Jonathan. A lot of people in service industries forget what an impact can be made by just addressing a client by their first name. The second I walked in and he greeted me that way I instantly felt at home. He bought life back to my curls on top of that. I am in love with my cut from him. He was super informative and took the time to listen and find out what my hair needed. I will most definitely be going back for my next cut with him.

Had a great experience getting a curly cut from Juan!! Im always really nervous about getting my haircut and having more taken off then I would like. I was really glad that I was able to get my hair cut dry, and Juan did an amazing job giving me the trim and shape that I needed and giving me some fun and flirty lift! Also appreciated the effort that the salon put into making sure everyone was safe and distanced during this time.
Sasay did an absolutely perfect job!! I had the best experience with her and her colleagues. I have never been good at describing what I’m looking for/knowing what would be best for my hair, and even with the little information I was able to give about what I wanted, Sasay went above and beyond and I left so happy with my hair :) I will definitely be back!

First off just want to say WOW and a big thank you to Juan who took care of me for my hair appointment. The Staff was extremely nice and friendly. Juan was definitely on top of his game and was super informative. I went to get my hair dyed for the first time in my life and being a guy I feel like that can sometimes be intimidating if you can’t pull off the look which was my main concern. However I walked in and voiced this Juan who immediately got me right and let me know as long as I rock a new do with confidence it’ll always be look good. He wasn’t wrong, I walked out of the salon feeling like a model who just got a gig with GQ.P.S my girlfriend went to Juan to and she loved her hair after the appointment!!

Dyed my hair at a salon for the first time! Kai did an AMAZING job with my balayage! The color looks great and my hair feels so soft.. Shes got magic hands and a great eye for color! She made me feel comfortable and took her time. You could see shes a true creative and a real artist. Great experience!!!

Kai is very kind, professional and does a great job with my hair. My hair is short and curly and she gave me a really nice no maintenance pixie cut that I really like. Juan gave an amazing massage when he washed my hair and is just incredibly gracious. The salon itself is quite nice too, very calming and serene. Great place overall. I actually came because my hairdresser at another salon was out of town, and I think I’ll be making the switch to this salon.
LOOOOOVE! Awesome salon - super clean and professional. I have gotten 2 cuts from Katie so far and have been so happy with the results. I have quite curly hair and she has just done an awesome job layering and bringing my hair to life. Ill back in the future for sure.

I had such a wonderful first experience at Salon 718. I felt very comfortable with all new safety measures in place. I had picked a time and was scheduled with Irving. He was so wonderful. I got a nice haircut, in the sense that I got what I asked for. I had an appointment, but had to wait for close to half an hour.Then, as she was finishing, my stylist cut my neck with the close, electric shaver! No sorry or any kind of acknowledgement, though it hurt & my partner noticed the wound immediately when I got home. Ouch!
This was my first visit at 718 Salon and it will now be my go to!!!! It was very clean and a great environment. Jackie, my hairstylist, was super sweet and amazing. Kai and Juan are superstars!!! Kai colored by hair and it looks AMAZING and Juan gave me a cut that made me feel like a million bucks. Jackie @ Salon 718 did the most spectacular job coloring my hair, she picked the perfect color based on my skin tone and it looks absolutely beautiful. I’ve received so many compliments and I can’t stop looking at hair in the mirror. Jackie is a highly qualified professional hairstylist who takes the time to listen to your ideas or concerns. I highly recommend making an appointment to see Jackie, you won’t be disappointed.Also, Salon 718 adheres to the strictest protocols with respect to COVID 19. Upon my arrival, the chairs I sat on were disinfected, I was asked to sanitize my hands and my temperature was taken, my gown came from a sealed plastic bag, the brush used on my hair was in a sealed plastic, all stylist and theirs customer was spaced out more than 6 feet. Super clean environment.
Kai and Salon 718 are incredible. I made an appointment as soon as I could and felt completely safe during my entire experience. Kai is caring and professional, so she made sure that every regulation was followed while also paying attention to my personal needs. Obviously my hair needed a lot of work, and Kai made my hair beautiful again. I love it!! Thank you!!
My name is Sophia. I had Kai as my stylist. She did such an amazing job with my color correction and hair cut she literally revitalized my hair. Kai is super professional & knowledgeable about her craft she made the whole process quick easy and relaxing. I have long curly hair and have had a lot of trouble finding someone who can cut it well in NYC, but Ive finally found my hair stylist! Juan—a tender twin with a pet lizard named Creature and an affinity for comic books—is lovely. Hes kind and empathetic and really listened to me as I tried to figure out what I needed for my hair. He cut my hair carefully and at a tempo that made me trust his expertise; he also explained what steps he was taking along the way, and encouraged me to provide feedback. He explained styling tips too, and gave a lovely scalp massage. What a sweet and interesting human being to boot. Thanks so much, Juan!
Irving was amazing! I felt like he knew how to handle my thick waves and understood my hair. He did a dry cut (which I always prefer) and then touched up after my hair was washed. He was so nice and easy to speak to and now my hair looks healthy and has a great shape and texture. Totally left feeling cute and pampered! I will be back for sure :)
Wonderful experience!!! Katie was great! I took my son in to get his hair styled and colored. He wanted 3 colors and honestly I was a bit terrified to see what the outcome would be. I got an amazing haircut from Katie this past week. She asked me what I was looking for that day, what my future hair goals were, and what my daily routine for my hair was (i.e. if I use a lot of heating products, styled it straight or curly etc). All of her questions led to me getting a haircut thats perfect for me now, and perfect for my soon in the future hair goals.She was also very social and nice to talk to. The haircut which took about an hour, only came to $86 with tax; which I found amazing for the quality of the cut, the experience and price for the location.

I was blessed by Juan the junior stylist! I am always very nervous to let anyone cut/style my curls, but Juan was so professional, lovely, and sweet. He instantly calmed me and assured me that I was in good hands (what an understatement!). He took the time to really figure out what I wanted as well as explain each step to me along the way. I went in for a long overdue trim as well as a fresh set of curly bangs...I left with a whole new confidence as well as bouncy, beautiful locks. Im so glad I came here and Kai was my stylist. She is wonderful! She is so comforting. I was desperate to get my hair fixed because I got too scissor happy doing things myself. She fixed my hair while still keeping my length. My curls came out beautiful and had alot of volume. She explained to me my curl type and how to treat my hair at home. I will DEFINITELY be coming back as a regular, especially to her!

Always kind and flexible, and a great haircut. Great service all-around at all locations I’ve been to (this was my first time at myrtle, I usually go to Dekalb) Highly recommend! I got my hair cut by Irving and he was just fantastic. Not only did he do a great job but he really brightened my day as I was having a particularly tough one! Apparently at this salon they will cut your hair and cheer you up too! Loved the positive vibe.
By far the best brow experience I ever had. L is very professional and explained what she was doing every step of the way. She made sure that I was comfortable and might I add, her brow waxing technique is literally painLESS! She asked me what my brow goals were and achieved just that and more! I love this place! My hairstylist was Kai both times I visited this location and she is amazing. I think I finally found my hairstylist! I told her what I wanted to do with my hair and she gave me advice on what I should and shouldnt go for. I have very thick hair so my bob always looked too big on the back side when other stylists would cut it. But she knew exactly what to do and guided me through what she was doing. My hair finally looks beautiful and how I wanted it to look all along. Definitely going back to Kai every time from now on :)

Irving has been my stylist for four years. Even though I don’t live anywhere near any of the Salon 718 locations anymore, I still travel to have my hair cut by him. Thanks to him, my hair always feels lush and full, but he has outdone himself with the new calligraphy technique. I’m honestly astounded by how soft and fresh my hair feels even a month after my last cut, through traveling and without adding extra product. Thank you, Irving, as always!!
I had a great experience with Alyssa, she gave me exactly what I asked for, a cut with layers along with a deep conditioning treatment. She was fun to chat with and super laid back. Irving has been a lifesaver and a pure joy to have as my stylist. He recently gave me a Calligraphy haircut. My hair is incredibly soft, super shiny, and actually looks longer then before the cut. My hair was also destroyed by bleaching gone wrong (I made the mistake of cheating) Irving brought my hair back to life in under 6 months. Back to a gorgeous blonde again! Love this salon. Been a client for years. Can not recommend enough.
My experience was great. Id researched pre-covid and now and have always thought they seemed like a clean and organized establishment. And covid-safety was taken seriously. No contact, freshly clean garments and tools used throughout session. None of this lowered the customer service experience. And, I love my cut and the natural curl set done for me!

Just to start I am terrified of hairdressers. More likely then not I leave disappointed so I havent been to get my hair cut in over a year because of this. A friend highly recommended this place so I finally bit the bullet and went because I was contemplating bangs for a while and it was something I didnt trust myself doing. I got the stylist Dayonna and she was amazing. She got exactly what my style was and explained every step to me so I wasnt sitting in fear. This is the first time leaving a salon and actually feeling good about myself in awhile. So thank you you goddess of a woman Dayonna. I will definitely be back! 10/10
Wonderful experience! ❤️ First, I called them in the afternoon to ask for an appointment that same night - which honestly I didn’t think would be possible. They were so willing to fit me in! Then, I got there and Allysa was so sweet. And seriously no one has ever been able to cut my hair as well as she did (I have very stubborn, difficult to manage curly hair). I’ve had this vision for my hair for years and she knew exactly what I wanted and delivered. I usually try not to spend much on haircuts and even cut my own hair sometimes (badly) to avoid it but now I don’t want to go anywhere else or do it any other way. For the quality and experience I received, it was wayyy worth it. But also please bring cash when you go! Their system doesn’t have a way to process tips on cards and they really deserve it - I lived nearby so they have me an envelope to come back. Overall, thank you ❤️ Exceeded everything I hoped for

This is the only place i go to get my curly hair cut. Irving is so sweet and absolutely knows what hes doing. He always takes his time and chats with you in order to ensure that you are getting what you want. He has done blonde on my daughter who has thick curly hair and it was amazing, her hair did not dry out and it still looks healthy. Once you get to the salon they give you a robe and offer you a drink, and they make you feel important not like your just other customer. This is my go to and i dont live that close.
This place was recommended to me recently, its close to my new office. The person cutting my hair listened to what I wanted, saved helped to make some suggestions as well. It was a great haircut, I week come again.

I have been going to this salon for over 3 years now. I DONT GO ANYWHERE ELSE. I have natural hair that I like to have blown straight in the winter and Cynthia the owner is hands down the BEST all around. I never really know what kind of cut I want, and since I let my natural hair go wild in the summer, and am ultra picky about what I like, knowing that I can go to Cynthia with only an idea and walk out looking super fly is a major relief. The first time you go can be expensive (not compared to some of these other salons that charge a lot and do nothing but burn and chop my hair!), but once you are a repeat client, Cynthia will do right by you!

Im writing this review after recently having a horrible experience here.Firstly, the woman at the front desk was extremely rude! In all of my experiences at a hair salon or any store in general, I have never encountered somone acting so nasty with a customer. The experience may have been able to pass had I gotten good hair service for a decent rate....but they are so overpriced its ridiculous! To top it off my the end result was my hair looking more like an ugly shade of greyish-yellowish than the honey-blonde I requested. It looked so bad. Honesty, overall worst salon experience EVER. I personally will most definitely not be returning...and I advise you to stay away. Save yourself the time, money and aggravation. Truly a huge disappointment.

My girlfriend recommended me checking out Salon 718 after she had a great experience there so I did and I really liked it! We recently moved to Brooklyn and I have been to a couple of places in the area and didnt love any of them until 718. Sat in Karinas chair, super professional and listened to exactly what I wanted. 2022-05-18Hi, true to form, Salon 718 provided another great experience. Everyone is so nice, has great energy and is totally professional. I saw Diamond this time for a keratin treatment. I have long, wavy, full bodied hair. She took her time to get every strand and days later it still looks like I just walked out of the salon. She is incredibly attentive and focused. One thing thing I especially appreciated is her candor regarding hair and styling— I don’t think she’d do anything that would not actually look great on you. So with Diamond you will always be in good hands!

2022-03-05Juan was great! He listened so intently to everything I said. He addressed all my concerns and questions with lots of kindness. He didnt overdo the cut (I have curly hair, and over-cutting is something I have struggled with with previous hair stylists). His knowledge on curly hair was impressive and super helpful to me. This was my first time here and Im definitely making Juan my regular hair person from now on!

2022-03-29It was my first time getting a cut (and exfoliating scalp ritual) with Jennifer and it was a perfect experience.Its clear that Jennifer is a great stylist. She worked with me to find the right length and curtain bang for an upcoming bridal updo and she shared lots of great information and tips for working with colored hair. She even gave me a short haircut suggestion based on my hair type for the next visit. She has my recommendation!

2022-06-11After a disastrous attempt at pandemic hair cutting, I went to see Jennifer with hopes that she would be able to fix my lopsided mistakes. What a wonderful human! She was very friendly and so professional. Not only was Jennifer incredibly attentive, she also gave me haircut that I asked for and was a pleasure to talk with. Will definitely be coming back. She’s given me plenty of tips to better manage my hair on the day to day, and she knows which products preserve the health of my hair.
