Sapsuckers in other cities:
I had an excellent experience here. The staff was awesome the entire night. I even got a free beer and humus with pita for an unintentional mistake on their part. Great draft and bottle selection of craft beers from all over the states. The food is amazing, especially the stroganoff with fresh made pasta delivered to them directly from the factory in Astoria. Ill definitely be back.
Sapsuckers is one of our favorite restaurants and bars in Huntington! It is our go to place on a regular basis for great draft beers and always dependable excellent food! The service is usually incredible, and they are very focused on having great customer service. They rotate their selection of draft beers, so there’s always something new to try, from their field of 20 or so. The staff is great at remembering us when we come in, and knowing what types of beer and ciders to recommend to my wife and myself. One of the hidden gems of downtown Huntington for anything from a quick beer to a complete dinner. Their chili is one of my wife’s favorites, and they have a great selection of burgers and the fish tacos are awesome. I happen to like their Greek salad with shrimp!
I love Sapsuckers! Been there a few times and the food, beer and service are excellent. It has a very laid back, cozy, relaxed atmosphere, I always feel comfortable. They used to make a really good fish and chips where the fish was made with breadcrumbs. It was delicious, I wish they would bring that back. The last time I was there, I had the Cubano sandwich and it was very good. This is one of my favorite places in Huntington.
Google is selling you guys short by limiting the experience to just 5 stars.Vinny the bartender is exactly what every restaurant owner wishes they could have on their staff! Efficient and fast but still makes enough time to engage with the customers at the bar. The Buffalo Brussel sprouts were fantastic! we come back again and again because the food it great, the service is the best in the village, and the beer variety always has a new suprise on tap!
The servers were great. The draft beer selection is decent. Bottles and cans selection is huge. The wings were good. My wife had the fried chicken which she said was overcooked, but good. I had the fish and chips which was not good. Fish looked and tasted like it was out of a box and it was way overcooked. There werent too many people in there so I have a hard time understanding why that happened. The fries served with the fish and chips were shoestring fries? No! There was nothing good about that dish.I shouldve stuck to apps. This is a comfort food type place-in my opinion, when a bar with comfort food tries to go outside they box, it doesnt work out well.
Food was great, Service was Great , Beer was great , So why the one star review ?? I loved the place but in the middle of hanging out the waitress gave me my check, Without even asking if I was done . If left alone , I would have spent another 50-100 Dollars on booze but I wasnt given the opportunity too 😂 Because I got a check Without asking for one lol ...
Weve come here many times just to sit at the bar after dinner and have a few drinks, but have only come here once before for dinner. We love their whiskey cocktails and selection, they also have some good beers. This past weekend we came specifically for dinner and was very happy that we did. We shared nachos which were perfect in all ways. A great portion size, the right amount of cheese and toppings without being obnoxious. I had a mallet burger which was cooked perfectly rare and came on a bun that didnt overpower the plate and some nice home made shoestring fries. My fiance had the harvest salad with chicken which she loved. Chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The salad was dressed to perfection and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our server couldnt have been better. Never did he hover over us, but was always there as soon as we needed him.We cant wait to return. Well done!
Delicious food and great service. My friends and I came here for lunch. We were greeted with a smile and seated. The menu has lots of choices. I had the Mallet burger with gorgonzola cheese, which was excellent. One of my friends had the barbecued baby back ribs, which he said were delicious. My other friend had the chicken sandwich with guacamole which was also very tasty. The waitress checked on us just enough while leaving us to our conversation. The place was quiet and the ambience was warm with the dark wood floors and walks. Great place for food and conversation on a cold day in Huntington!
Wife and I dropped in for a quick dinner bite. Great beer selection and really friendly folks. I had a BBQ Brisket Sandy which was perfect with a draft IPA. Wife had the carnitas tacos, which could use a little more flavor... but we used to live in Southern California so we might be a little spoiled when it comes to tacos and carnitas in particular... Either way we will be back!
Great food and great beer selection. Bar has two small TVs. Not a great place to go watch sports, but it will suffice if you end up there. I havent had an item off the menu that I havent enjoyed. Also the beer selection is very extensive. Bartenders and waiters are all very nice.
Quality happy hour bar with great selection of microbrews and wines. Food is amazingly fresh and local with the most delicious thinly cut fries. Staff was very inviting and on point for service without being pushy. Love going on a nice day with the doors open or even a cold day to grab a lager and chat with the bartenders.
Nice, trendy Huntington village place on Main St. The bar and dining area are relatively small but cozy. 4 of us had dinner and drinks. The menu has a wide variety of cuisine that are fairly priced for the quantity and quality of what you get. Burger, jambalaya, fish tacos, and shrimp tacos were all good. Large selection of beer and wine. Place was crowded and noisy on 2 visits. Interesting that there are pictures of Audubon original paintings on the walls...get it? Sapsucker? Birds? John J. Audubon? Im sure most diners didnt get it. LOL. Good hangout in a great village. Recommended.
We like a lot eating out. Yesterday we visited this delicious place which friends recommended to us. We spent a lovely time there with delicious cooking and a courteous team and an impressive chef. We added this restaurant in our list and we will no doubt go again soon. We deeply recommend.
I am still so confused by my familys experience at this restaurant. We were excited to try it based off the reviews but we were disappointed. The service was not great as we could rarely find our server. Our food was lackluster. Chicken and waffles looked like a Cornish game hen and Eggos. The Cubano was dripping in grease and was soggy upon receipt. The shrimp tacos were very bland. My sons kids meal was $14 for a plain hot dog and fries. They never mentioned refills were not free and 3 of us got refills so we were charged for 6 beverages. The ONLY thing that was tasty was the hot dog but not $14 tasty. Overall, super bummed by this place.
Best place in Huntington. With the feel of a NYC hot spot located right on Main St. It is a bit small but the table turnover is quite quick. The staff is friendly, quick to make a beer suggestion, and professional. The food is top notch. The appetizers are all good but I suggest their nachos to share or the hummus platter. When it comes to the mains, you cannot go wrong. Their Angry Rooster is hands-down the best sandwich on the menu. Its full of flavor and will leave you stuffed after eating only half. The Chicken Pot Pie is the perfect escape from the cold and will leave you reminiscing of your childhood. When it comes to their beer menu, the beers on tap are constantly changing , and range from a lighter pilsner to a heavy stout, youre sure to find something to your taste buds. Dont be afraid to ask for a sample before committing to a full glass.
One of the best places I visited while I was in Long Island. Kris was fantastic in his service and his recommendations. He recommended the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich and it was one the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. Their beer selection was fantastic as well. Kris recommended the Firestone Walker IPA and like the sandwich it was one of the best that I have ever had. I would highly recommend this place for great food and brews.
This is one of the best pubs I have been to on LI in a long time. The beer selection is *excellent* and the variety is outstanding. But the beer is only one aspect of this place. The food is AMAZING. The Alabama Sloppy Hammer is the best sandwich Ive ever had, ever. Period. Why are you reading this. Just go there. Stop reading.
Fantastic and diverse beer menu. Friendly and professional bartenders and wait staff. Delicious food. I love that they offer some dishes with free range meat, organic eggs, etc. I particularly love the Berkshire baby back ribs appetizer and the Saus-a-lito sandwich. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!
3.75? Upon arrival, the staff were super friendly and the decor was enjoyable. I felt like I was walking into a time machine with classic lighting and the paintings of various birds. My party of 4 ordered the nacho libre and it was okay. I just wished the cheeses werent in blobs. A lot of times I had to manually top the cheese on my chips. Is that weird?I ordered the mallet burger. It was a satisfactory burger, but I wish the bread didnt come out so soggy. Fries were delicious though! The whole plate was filling, but it was pricey for the okay quality burger.Ill probably come next time to try other food items!
Extensive beer selection, short but nice wine by the glass selection too. Cozy, casual ambiance and friendly, helpful servers. We had baby back ribs app, Greco salad, fish and pork tacos and flourless chocolate cake - all of which was top notch. Extensive GF choices. We were very pleased.
Sweet place to grab a brew and good food to boot. Its a small place and can get cramped quick. If you are looking to have a quiet conversation, look elsewhere. It gets LOUD, but they have tons of beer options. Tap and bottle, who needs to speak when your chugging brews.
Sapsuckers is reliable. Small but cozy space, range of menu options, and a wild assortment of tap beers, wine and bourbon.I have had amazing meals here and I have had meals here that have left me regretting my meal choice like crazy. The amazing meals WAY outweigh the regretful ones.Must try items include:- The Mallet Burger - SO GOOD. Great beef patty, brioche bun, lettuce/tomato/onion, and I ask for bleu cheese on top of that *almost* every time. Fries are thin cut, perfect array of crispy ones and soft ones, and theyre always seasoned just right.- Philly Cheese Steak - amazing. And big enough to guarantee you leftovers. Made the way a true philly cheese steak should be, tender cuts of meat and the perfect amount of cheese, onions and peppers. Mouth is watering thinking about it.- Shwarma - I live in Astoria. I work in midtown Manhattan. I should be able to find the best shwarma possible in either of these places. No. sapsuckers does it best, by far. It is made so incredibly I cant put it into words. If youre into that kind of flavor, you must try.Caution: the fish and chips are literal fish sticks. Not at all what I had been expecting. I didnt like them at all.Specials never catch my eye, not entirely sure why. The menu items always seem to blow them away, for me.Veggie burger is ok but VERY soft texture which is not appealing. A burger should have some crunch or solidity to it. This one does not. Still comes with the awesome fries so its not an all out loss offering the healthier burger.Try it. There will be a dynamic tap beer list, no doubt, and a number of wonderful food options. You wont regret it!
Cal - a - mar was disappointing considering this app is a pricey $14 ; small portion and small size squid. Fish and Chips also disappointing; overcooked cod (Deep fried strips) and skinny fries also overdone with too much salt. The Alabama plate used to be much better, now it reminds me of another boring pork slider on Ciabatta bread. Only reason I give it two stars is because they always have good beer. So go for the beer, not the food.
Food is very good; staff friendly; atmosphere very welcoming. Wish Sapsuckers carried one solid draft bitter such Smuttynose IPA or Hoptical Illusion or Breckenridge IPA, something that is true to an English bitter and is not so oppressively artsy-craftsy. Canterbury Ales around the corner usually carries a solid bitter, but the foods lousy. Cant we have good food and a great bitter at the same time?

2019-09-24Sapsuckers is a warm and inviting restaurant and pub located on Main Street. They offer quite the assortment in beers and cocktails as well as a tantalizing menu for both lunch and dinner. They have an excellent selection of appetizers, salads, tacos, and entrees. We started with their cheese and potato pierogies with a dollop-up of sour cream and caramelized onion. They offered a good-sized crisp caesar salad with shaved cheese. For our main course, we enjoyed their tender Beef Brisket, flavorful Philly Steak Sandwich, and an Alabama Sloppy Hammer. The food was five-star all around for flavor, tender, creativity, and taste.

2018-09-16Decent beer selection and food menu looked good. Had apps which were good. We did order two different beers in cans and they were quite old with canned dates from April. When they are charging $9 to 10 a. An that is unacceptable. But there was at least a good variety.

2016-09-24Really incredible rotating craft beer selection, with unique beers from all over the country including rare and brewers reserve selections. The staff is very friendly and James the Bartender will give the best beer or food recommendations. No matter what you get, if there are fries involved be sure to get the truffle aioli. It is to die for!
