Save A Lot in other cities:
I shop here bc its so close to my apartment. But also near by is another grocery, slightly farther. So we shop here for basics as they are cheaper. Heavier items bc we usually walk. But meat and deli products are prepacked. And fresher is of course better. So for specialty items, meats, cold cuts, etc, we take the longer walk
Good store. Lower prices so some brands are unfamiliar but most are comparable. Not always well stocked. Produce cheaper and doesnt seem to stay fresh as long but tasty if used timely. Some ethnic choices throughout the store. Sausage made in store by butcher. Very good and seasoned uniquely, not found in other stores both Polish and italian varieties.
The store is nice and clean and has a large variety of things that the other stores dont however I went there purposely to get the roast that were on sale and was told that they only have meat on sale on Saturdays which I think is really crazy. Saturdays are busy and crowded and Im partially disabled which makes it difficult to shop when everybodys pushing and shoving wont be shopping there again
Not as convenient as you think despite being located in a plaza at the corner of Genesee St Union Rd. Generally only 2 cashiers on duty, no express and no self check out. Picking up one or two items might mean 10+ minutes waiting to be able to pay for your purchase and leave.
Cashiers are always nice. The meat department goes out of their way to help you. I joked with one of the guys about wanting one of their in house sausages (chicken, spinach and feta its delicious) and he said ok Ill have it tomorrow. I went back the next day and sure enough he had made it. I go here as often as I can because of how close it is but also because I prefer some of their stuff and prices.
Great customer service, great food, but the only thing I dont like about Save A Lot is that there no nacho lunchables, theres mostly turkey and cheese crackers, ham and cheese crackers, and theres only a couple pizza ones. Other than that its a great place to get your food from.
Store is never stocked. Just went in to shop and no meat was out. Empty boxes always in aisles. Butcher doesnt know how to cut or stock his meat case. And on 04/15/20 there was no sanitizing wipes to wipe carts, noone was sanitizing carts, no employee wore face masks or gloves. During this virus time all that should be done.
Good savings on many products but you have to know your prices I found some that were cheaper elsewhere. Meats had a few good buys, like chicken drumsticks for .69/lb. Eggs, today, were 1.29 for a dozen of the large eggs. Pays to look around other stores too. Bargains are for you if you choose to shop around.
CHECK YOUR RECEIPTSNearly every time Ive been in there something has rang up wrong at the register. Now i get once and a while theres an issue with a price, but this place must be doing something fishy as the prices are always higher than they are supposed to be. Seems like some kind of embezzlement going on as Ive never had an item ring up for less than the displayed price.Pay attention to the prices or theyll get you.
The low key best thing they stock is thier turkey breasts. Awesome price and great slow cooker meal. Their meats department for how small it is puts in big works. If youre looking for a cheektowaga establishment that is old school dirty buffalo this is it. Great people. Look at them in thier eyes... They love you.
This is actually a pretty great store but I have 2 huge issues. Like other reviewers, have gone there and found them locking up well before closing (MADDENING!)My other issue is a bit sensitive. Keep in mind that Ive lived in such wonderfully diverse places as Toronto, LA and Honolulu and I thrive on that type of inclusiveness. But the owner of this place is asian and speaks barely a word of English and after this many years, its not only ignorant but insulting. Im good enough to take my money but not to communicate with me or even TRY? And, make no mistake, as great as the franchise is in general, Ive run into plenty of instances where they would do well to slightly bend a rule for customer satisfaction, but they do not. He LOVES his rules. Doesnt apply in reverse to when it comes to honoring closing time tho. GRRRRR. Guess Ill go back to the Lancaster store I always used before this one opened.
It was good would have been better if the cashier wasnt having a full blown conversation with someone who was obviously visiting she made no eye contact with me or anyone else in her line for that matter not to mention she was also preoccupied with what was going on with her cell phone just rude terrible customer service
I like shopping at the store its convenience near my home they have good prices but I would also like to see more variety of items in their store yet they dont have some of the other store that you can shop yet the price is right and I enjoy that very much I would recommend this store.
In general, this store is okay, but the people that go to this store seem to have attitudes from time to time. Parking could be a challenge at times, because many people have the screw you attitude. If it wasnt for the store being near my house, I would much rather go to a different branch.

2022-07-12My Experience at Save A Lot was very pleasant the store was clean and the cashier was friendly and funny. This is the place to shop, lines were short and prices were a little high, I guess thats the norm with the economy the way it is. Short wait time in line, got love this place.

2022-08-17Save-A-Lot does not impress me, and I didnt see any prices that were saving a lot. I walked out empty-handed.

2022-02-16First time in a Save A Lot. I was surprised by the amount of items they carried and some are very discounted when compared to other stores. Lots of name brands. My 4 is because the entry was rather dirty and unappealing. It could use a good cleaning but the rest of the store was organized and much cleaner than my first impression would have expected.

2022-07-18Under New Management so they are not honoring the sales that are advertised online or in the paper so you dont know what the sales are until you get in the store prices keep going higher every week you go in there they do have a lot of Asian and other ethnic foods now

2021-12-18Shop there often and spend a few bucks every week .. at least 60$+ twice a week … because of this bs mask mandate was told to wear a mask at the register when cashing out .. why didn’t anyone tell me throughout my shopping trip ??. I SHOPPED THERE BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER BEEN HASSLED ABOUT A MASK TILL YESTERDAY.. I told the cashier I’ll just shop somewhere else .. was told “Good”.. no more business from me .. I’ll take my $$$ somewhere else. It’s a shame I’ve been shopping there since the opening of the store. Shopped without a mask during the pandemic but now it’s a problem ?..I’ll shop where my rights are recognized .. won’t EVER shop here again .. lost a lifetime customer..

2021-10-23I really like the variety and pricing this place offers. The staff is great as well. However, this place has a glaring flaw in that is typically has lesser hours than other Save-a-Lot stores and once we hit the fall-winter months, those hours shorten again. If youre a person that works during the day, it is difficult enough to get to a store before 9pm given some work shifts. The fall/winter hours have this place closing at 7pm on weekdays and a paltry 5pm on Sundays. I love this place, but I frequently just dont have the time to go to it because of the tight hours of operation. If you have time to go during open hours, you will find a small but adequate produce section, a decent meat selection, literally tons of dry and pantry goods, and a frozen section that can rival a major grocery chain. And of course, some great deals.

2021-08-13Be careful. Some fridge food is placed in a very hot, non-working refrigerator. A lady Ive never seen before (thin White woman, guessing some manager) said they dont need to be refrigerated. But EVERY store (including them in the past) in many states & countries Ive lived/been to my entire life have ALWAYS had these items refrigerated. I worked at a restaurant & they HAD TO be kept in the fridge. Every person I know keeps them in a fridge. I looked it up, & they SHOULD/MUST be refrigerated for freshness & life/shelf life. Sliced/whole pepperoni & bacon. At least BY a cold fridge so they can stay cool. Nope. They were enclosed in heat. I instantly felt how extremely warm they were. It was just as bad as leaving them outside in the sun. Which would make them go bad in just a matter of time. Pretty much selling expired food. 👎👎
