Great local park right on the Hudson River, a true gem. The whole park is beautiful designed and landscaped. Theres a fair amount of parking and you could park at the train station too if needed. You can access Riverfront Park, Dennings Point, and Madam Brett Park with connector trails. All the pathways and trails are wide, flat, and well maintained.
Very pretty view of the hudson. RIght now under construction. Some people were not respectful of social distancing. Places to bring a picnic suggest bringing a blanket. People vandalized the construction items. No one insuring the safety of park goers. Since it normally isnt like this, I have it 4 stars. Plenty of seating and grassy areas. Hiking. Ferry $3. Boating must be on hold.
Beautiful trails for biking and walking that are right along the river, beautiful views of the river and surrounding mountains. Most of the paths are pretty wide and accommodating. Also a large green area perfect for a picnic near the parking area. Parking can be limited
Worth waiting 30 minutes! The staffs were friendly and really make sure that you’re enjoying your meal. Our server - Ivania, was on point with telling us the specials on top of her head. She was nice and always came to check up on us. There was another guy, don’t know his name - only way to describe him was he was bald (sorry man) but he knows his taco game, he told us which taco was when it came out (we ordered 10 tacos). The tacos and the empanadas were so delicious, no wonder why it’s packed and people wait. Can’t wait to come here again.
Beacon residents made a wise choice to preserve the Scenic Hudson landscape, now a local park. Resting along the Hudson coast, you will enjoy trailing along steady waves, geese, and friendly visitors to this preserved parcel of nature. Come and marvel at the view of Hudson Bridge--but please clean up after yourself!
Its a nice park with lovely views of the Hudson. And even a nice shaded area for snacks. BUT, I have been there twice and both times the garbage canister near the shaded section was never emptied! Garbage was overflowing and all over an adjacent parking space---which so happened to be a handicap space. My wife is handicapped. So, Im just calling it the way it is. Whats even stranger, the locals that live in the area, seem used to it. Never gave it a second glance.😣
This is my favorite Hudson Valley riverfront park. Nice views, great spaces to walk and sit. The addition of the new parking area and pavilions are really nice. Scenic Hudson really did a lovely job with this park. I highly recommend a visit, and even bring the doggy.
Can there be an any more perfect park in the Hudson Valley? Long Dock Park and its surroundings continue to impress me, even after years of living here and photographing the mess out of it. Its gorgeous, serene, and both relaxing and invigorating. A must-see spot when in Beacon or in the Hudson Valley! 👍🏼
Nice park. Very quick, easy access to the river front and boat launch. Kids had fun searching for tiny clam shells and making rafts out of drift wood. We see people fishing here, dogs taking a swim, and small boats and paddle boards. Beautiful view of Newburgh and a short stretch of the Hudson. Down side for the beach part... skeletons. We found a lot of bones of animals, including a batwing that still had the skin between the bones. That was a little ick, but also part of nature, so what cant be too bothered by that. The biggest problem, as it always is, is people leaving trash and glass bottles broken on the shore. If you want to walk in the water I suggest water shoes so you dont cut your feet. Parking here has been pretty good. There is a trail that connects with a few others in the area so you can spend a good chunk of the day exploring different aspects of the park. Well worth a visit.
This spot never ever gets old for me after 5 years in Beacon. The immediate and intimate connection to the vastness of the Hudson River in any season always seems to wake up my mind and my senses. The view of Newburgh is so close you feel is that you could reach out and touch it. There are people kayaking reading playing with children and yet there is space for everybody. It is a true gift that Beacon has these spaces available to the public every time I visit Im filled with gratitude.
Its a beautiful park site recently designed to be flood resilient. There are facilities such has kayaking, fishing pier, picnic areas, restrooms etc. The pavilion is designed to be food resilient and can hold education events, concerts. Public meeting etc. There is soft shoreline and hard shoreline designed to fight shoreline erosion due to sea level rise.
Spent the weekend in Beacon and wanted to get out on to the Hudson River. Found out they rented kayaks at the long dock. We rented a 2 person kayak. Just before heading out the guide told us which way the current was running! Very important!!! He recommended that we paddle up the current, that way the paddle back wont be bad. Really enjoyed being out on the water and would definitely come back the next time were in town.On the other end of the parking lot (away from the water), there is a bike rental with what looked to be some decent bikes. Probably try that the next time were in Beacon.
Long Dock Park is one of my favorite places. You can take a lovely stroll by the river, sit and enjoy the views and the wonderful breeze thats usually present, and maybe even rent a kayak and explore the area on the Hudson River. Highly recommend to visit if youre looking for a beautiful place to go. You can even picnic here and take in the fireworks for the 4th of July.

2022-06-30This is a pleasing little park to take a walk in or to admire the river or the wildflowers. There is a dock that goes out to the Hudson and you can fish there or simply sit and admire the river. When I was there there was a man with several poles out in the water who didnt speak much English, but he managed to tell me he was fishing for carp. You can stay on the paths or you can leave the unpaved paths and get right down next to the river. There are no concessions; kayak rental starts in July, I think, but was closed the day I was there. There are no water fountains. The only bathroom facilities are porta potties.

2022-01-22Nice place to spend the eveningSome great views of the Hudson river in the evening. Would definitely recommend when the skies are generally clear.Theres some watersports facilities nearby so it looks like you can rent kayaks on calmer days. Winds around here can get fairly strong, so definitely wear a windbreaker on autumn and winter days.

2021-08-25Nice spot to see the river and some wildlife. We saw ducks, seagulls, butterflies and grasshoppers. We heard frogs but didn’t get close enough to see them. There are some seating areas and some nice little walking paths.
