Hi, having contacted Serragos to learn to swim at 56 years old has changed my life. Six months after starting I did my first Triathlon with a 800 yard swim. Since then I did a half Ironman Triathlon where I swam 1.2 miles. I never would have thought that was possible just years ago. Through swim training and Ashley’s personal strength training I have become stronger, fitter, and faster. I’ve qualified for National Triathlon races and have also set course age group records in Duathlon. I prefer to make “investments” in my health and it has changed my life. After 2 1/2 years of working together I feel better and feel younger. I can’t recommend a better Coach than Ashley.
We started our special needs swim lesson with Ashley for my 3 year old. Ashley is just amazing she made him feel so comfortable right away. She is very calm, patient and uses lot of communication in water. We loved our lesson with singing and lots of fun toys and activities. Would absolutely recommend working with Ashley and specially if you are looking for special needs swimming. Don’t look further ! The happiness and smile on his face speaks for everything Ashley works for ! We could not have asked for a better swim teacher 😀
My son had his first swim lesson last week, and we are so happy we chose Serrago’s Swimmers. He made noticeable progress, and he’s really excited about his next lesson!
We are happy outdoor and indoor swim lesson customers. I was amazed with the progress my kids made over the summer with outdoor lessons. Both Ashley and Maddie are competent and supportive teachers.

We just started lessons for our 4 year old and I can’t say enough good things. From initial contact up to the start of lessons Ashley has been quick to respond to questions and get us on her schedule. Our first lesson was so comfortable and our little guy was at ease with her in the water. We are so glad to have found her!

Ashley has committed her time and crafted a swim program that caters to my goals as well as taking her experiences to help reshape my form and bad habits to create a more streamline and effiencent stroke. I’ve been able to knock off a great amount of time on my distance swims for competitions with her guidance and patience. With her knowledge and core swimming principles she is able to reconstruct and break down each individual persons stroke and help better their progress. Her passion and joy for the art and sport that is swimming shines through most when she is teaching children. When I come early and she has her lessons wrapping up with her younger students, it’s amazing to see how she can translate ideas, proper swimming positions and stroke evolution and accomplish the goal of the child being able to swim. They leave feeling confident and loved and overall joy in their new found ability, that’s where I see where Ashley gets her drive, in the faces of those kids.
Fantastic personality, perfect for teaching! Ashley brings a ton of credibility from her career at Division 1 Siena College where she left as the school’s record holder in the 50 yd freestyle sprint.
Best swim instructor I have found In the capital district Albany specifically. She has a lot of experience to draw from while providing support and it clearly shows. Lessons are fun, interactive, and informative.
Great swim lessons. My kids -ages 3 and 5 years old, have become better swimmers and have learned water safety. We have more fun as a family because of this. Thank you!

The beginning of the year I purposed in my heart and mind to learn how to swim. Ashley has been such a beautiful instructor. As an adult learning how to swim it was a bit intimidating in my own mind. But Ashley really set me at ease and pushed me to go to new levels each time we met. She explained each step before I engaged in the actual swimming movements. Very patient and mindful of my daily activities that effect my capacity to perform in the lesson. Ashley thank you 🙏🏾!
Ashley is wonderful! My son is nine months old, and was very comfortable with her. Any apprehensions he had of the water quickly went away! The first lessons included the parents which was also very helpful, and she gave us useful information to continue the lessons at home during bath time, or pool time. I highly recommend Ashley for your children!

2022-07-01I have been a swim instructor at this company for over a year. This company provides children and adults to get one/one attention with a swim instructor like myself or other members of the team.Water safety, especially with individuals who have pools at home is the number one priority for our company. The rest will be assessed based on the individual needs of our clients.The process of becoming familiar with the sensation of the water for young children is very important, the more we can expose children at a younger age to become comfortable with the water the more success they will have with confidence in the long run.Another addition I would like to add about the benefit to one/one instruction, compared to general swim classes is that each lesson the instructor can reflect on what they can try to make the student successful and achieve milestones. Here, at Serragos Swimmers we communicate frequently and follow up on progress with Ashley and the clients.I write this because as someone who values the art of education and the value of teamwork, here at this company we hold those values very strong.

2022-07-01Riley is our swim instructor. She is great with kids and very comfortable and confident in the water with small children. This is my first experience using this service but will plan to continue to use going forward. We attended a local swim school and I much prefer the individualized attention. All of the same swim styles are covered and Riley actually cares what you want your child to work on.

I reached out for support with triathlon training and over the course of our 3 sessions she gave me great advice on creating workouts, race logistics, and how to improve my stroke. Would highly recommend Ashley for swimmers of all ages and skill levels!

2022-02-02The instructor taught me technique’s I was able to apply immediately in just a short amount of time. She also encouraged and motivated me throughout the entire session which increased my confidence in my very first lesson. My experience overall was excellent because of the 1 on 1.I highly recommend for anyone who is interested in becoming a good swimmer.!

2021-10-09I had my first swim lesson yesterday with Ashley as part of my interest in being able to swim longer for a triathlon. The whole experience of the first session was wonderful. She did a great job of figuring out what I was wanting to achieve, identifying my limitations with my swimming, and offering specific feedback to help me swim longer before being exhausted. Im excited to use the feedback to practice before meeting with her again for the next lesson. Ashley is kind and easy to interact, which made the learning easier for me.

2021-09-06Ashley provided swim lessons during the summer session of 2021 to my 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter. Having worked with several other swim instructors in the past for all three of my children, Ashley far surpassed my expectations. Her temperament and skill sets are two of the keys to her students’ success. I can’t say enough positive things about my experience working with her, and highly recommend choosing Ashley as your future swim instructor.

2022-02-23I would not recommend this business to any family with children. While the first two lessons started off well, the third was abruptly cancelled by the instructor after five minutes because my child (almost 4 years old) was acting up/having a temper tantrum. Rather than wait a few minutes to try and diffuse the situation, see if he would calm down, or even use the remaining time to discuss pool safety outside of the water, the lesson was cancelled for the remaining 25 minutes and no additional time was provided for future instruction - despite the fact the 30 minutes was fully pre paid.While I understand instructing may not be safe in such a situation, the remaining time we paid for, could have been used outside of the pool on swim safety, for example. Cancelling the lesson almost immediately after it started and not offering alternatives for the remaining time is not good customer service - especially when paid ahead of time.Moreover, none of this was ever explained to us prior to booking - i.e., that a lesson can be completely cancelled unilaterally based on the instructors opinion/judgment call on the behavior of a child. For any family considering this business, you should know if you are in a situation such as us where a child is acting up, the lesson may be cancelled with no further recourse. What was even more disturbing about this is that after discussing the situation the business offered zero solutions and did not entertain any proposals on how we could recoup all the lost time - which again - we paid for ahead of time. Since the business expects people to pay for an entire month in advance , I think it is important for potential customers to know that this could happen to them. Moving forward I would hope these business practices are revisited because as I noted this is not good customer service - especially for something that is not cheap.
