Its is a peaceful oasis, to escape the din of the boisterous city streets. A place you can come, meditate and chant to bring yourself closer to your Happiest life. SGI Buddhist find this center a home base to find community, fellowship and resources to help in their achievement of Buddhahood. Its simply put...YOUR CENTER.
Even though I’m not a member and I chant occasionally I’ve always felt welcomed by their loving Buddha angels in human form at their front desk.&in the cosy Gift Shop:))One of my favorite places in New YorkThank You

A good place to consider for getting away from the stresses of modern life, but SGI is Buddhism the way Starbucks is coffee. Lots of spiritual caffeine, but theres far better stuff out there.

Excellent place to get to know about Nitiren Daishonin Buddhism. In the library there is a fair amout of titles that are already translated from Japanese and it helps a lot. Even though I am Brazilian I could find many titles that we dont have yet in Brazilian Portuguese. Highly recommended.

Started my Practice in Venezuela where I received Gohonzon.Now I am leaving in Spain and I will be in New York from Dec 27th till Jan 6.... what is the program for these Days. SGI-USA is a fantastic Buddhist Center. The people are friendly and kind. I highly recommend a visit. It is open to the public.

Even if you are not a Buddhist, this cultural center is worth visiting. The staff is really nice and determined to make guests feel comfortable. The bookshop is also beautiful.
The person at the reception gave me a careful guide. Wi-Fi is free.

2019-12-11Amazing facility for SGI members! I always leave feeling invigorated and optimistic! Maybe the friendliest and most helpful staff in the world. Affordable vending machines downstairs. Good place for meeting friends. Open chanting is a great place to make determinations and connect to your Buddha nature!

2019-06-16This place is my home. Im always invited here whether you share the religious belief or not we pride ourselves on being kind to others and being understanding. That we are all here to learn. This place gives me so much peace. I love to hear the people chanting upstairs. Elevator is currently being fixed so be open to taking the stairs. Their are so many because Daisuke Ikeda promotes taking extra steps towards investing in your self care and health.

2018-12-16I went to visit this location with my Cousin, which came to visit me from France. Mr. Anthony & the Lady from the front desk, the lady from the book store as well as the whole staff up to the fift floor were fantastic.I had a great time visiting this location & thank my Cousins for taking me.🤗

2017-12-31My girlfriend practices diamoku and she was looking for a place to practice en ny, I am not a follower of that practice but the staff is really nice, the place is pretty enough to make you feel welcome and sterile enough so you know that you have to go back home. Everything is cordial and relaxing, they will not ask you for money like in any other church just for being there.

2019-03-04Its an amazing building inside. I believe its landmarked as a cultural institution. If you are looking for unshakeable happiness someone there can show you a roadmap to get there, by teaching you to chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo! It connects with your highest potential.

2018-12-14I attend monthly World Peace Prayer meeting here. Cant get over the divirsity of different ethnicities of ppl. This place give out such a happy vibe. Cant wait until the next meeting 💖
