I frequent these guys and can share that this is a great place for bubble tea on the UWS. Price, quality and service are all phenomenal. My only question is how they run such an airtight operation out of such a small little storefront! But I guess that just speaks to the professionalism of the staff, who are always kind, quick and courteous.Big recommend!
Love the drinks here!!! The drinks at Shiny Tea is always consistent and great quality. I had the chocolate boba tea and it’s so chocolaty! The place usually gets packed during the weekend afternoons, but they let you pre-order online so you won’t have to wait that long! They are definitely the best boba tea place in NY! Friendly staff too!
This bubble tea spot has great customer service and quality product. Better than Kung Fu Tea by far! Ive been coming at least twice a month and always bring my friends here. My favorite is the TieGuanYin Milk Tea for that strong tea flavor (with pudding) 10/10!-just a note to the business: The TieGuanYin Milk Tea is missing as an option on your online menu. Please add it in!
I wanted to pick up two teas before my tutoring session. I walked in and the young man took my order and my money. While I was ordering, a family of five arrived. I told him that I was in a hurry, but he took their five orders and answered their questions and took their money. This all took almost a half hour. Only then did he get around to making my teas. Altogether, it took 45 minutes for him to serve me two teas. This young man was incredibly rude and the tea here is just not worth the wait.
I have been coming here for few months already . Have to say I am in love with the taste of the bubble tea here. My personal favorite is Mango Green Tea with Boba Bubbles. The green tea has a quality taste to it. I sometimes catch myself buy tea from here 3-4 times out of the week. Would definitely recommend this place to the bobble tea lovers. Place extremely small with no place to sit down and enjoy the tea. But definitely enough space to be in and out and still enjoy the bubble tea. Place looks and feels very clean and staff is super helpful and friendly.
This place offers the best bubble tea in all of NYC! Sadly the Flushing location closed down so I have to go here for it now. The credit card minimum is $10. The staff here is really friendly and accommodating. I recommend the bubble tea with panda bubbles, I believe that’s what it’s called.
Ive trekked many a time to UWS from Brooklyn because Shiny Tea is THE place. When Hanlin, originator of all that is good and boba, opened up a location in my hometown, it brought me back to what boba should be. Good, quality tea, qq bobas.Shiny Tea is *authorized* by Hanlin, so their teas and bobas are about the same high quality here. Even the cute panda bobas! Its definitely worth coming here if youre in the area, and clearly if your not. There was even a state trooper who was clearly a regular who came here so....yea, you need to get your butt here.
The best boba place Ive found in NYC so far (and Ive tried quite a few already). Their fruit teas are made with juice concentrate (not syrup, yay) and their lemon is freshly squeezed for drinks that have lemon. Their menu is quite extensive too, and it has a lot of different kind of teas, including unique milk teas as well as fruit teas. I got their mango green tea without ice and without sugar, and it was quite good. I think their tea could be stronger, but it was quite good as was. Menu prices include tax which is great, and my tea was reasonably priced. Not bad for quality and quantity!
I love this place, not only because it feel like a little secret hole-in-the-wall only I know about, but because it has apple vinegar drinks(!). It sounds weird, but give it a shot - apple vinegar juice + coconut jelly is the way to go. Their brown sugar milk tea is pretty good as well, and theyre known for their panda bubbles (mixed large and small tapioca). Card minimum is like $10, so bring cash or a friend or two.
Wow. I love this place! There is a very very big variety of things for your drink and what to put inside. I even learned some new stuff lol. So far the best boba place in NYC for me! You get to customize your drink with the amount of sugar, the amount of ice and of course what you want it to be and what to put inside so that the drink is just right for you. In my experience they re-checked my orders and labeled the different drinks so I know which ones which. Definitely a place you should try!
This place is great. A huge variety and the staff is super nice. I swear I go here at least twice a week and Ive never been disappointed.Edit: I change my mind about not being disappointed. Twice now I waited in line for about 15 minutes and didnt move a single inch. I dont know whats going on. People were leaving the line after 10 minutes or so. Shiny tea has to get itself together before they lose more business.
This is my fav bubble tea spot in the neighborhood! I was disappointed when it closed for few weeks but its OPEN again! I like the classic bubble tea but I love the TieQuanYin Tea + bubble even more! Also, the price is reasonable unlike all the other bubble tea shops in the city now. Highly recommend this place!
This is a great place to go after school, they are extremely polite and are always very gracious, even if I or one of my friends is being rude. If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend checking out this hole in the wall (literally) boba shop. My personal favorite is the caramel milk tea with panda boba.
Always friendly service. Tiny spot so it gets cramped with any line, but they’ve never burnt my tea like other places. Usually get grapefruit juice or one of the plain teas. $10 card minimum, slight hassle but you can purchase a $10 gift card if you don’t have cash and use the leftover later. Student discount with ID.
This is a new hole-in-the-wall place serving a very large selection of Taiwanese tea (milk tea/boba/bubble tea). It is a very tiny place that is easy to miss. There are no chairs or tables, but a tiny counter where you could rest your tea. Regardless, its a quick place to grab some good milk tea. We liked the tea.
Shiny tea is my favorite bubble tea store, the price is a little higher than other bubble tea stores, but their tea is SOOO good it is worth it! I highly recommended trying it, (my favorite tea is panda milk tea, not made with panda milk, but it is very good if you ever come here give it a try!)
Tiny little bubble tea place. So small there can be no more than 4 customers in the store at a time. Oftentimes, you will need to wait outside for your turn to place an order. This may be an issue when the weather gets colder or hotter when you have to stand in the sun/heat. I like how they have white and black bubbles too rather than just the typical black bubbles.

2021-12-21Great neighborhood bubble tea shop. Got the oolong milk tea and passion fruit tea with jelly. Both drinks were not overly sweetened, which is what I normally prefer in my drinks. Passion fruit tea was wonderfully fragrant. Jelly wasnt too hard and just soft enough to slurp through the straw. Will be back to try more flavors.

2022-03-15A little too strong on the tea today. My jaw is slight clenching & my brain is in overdrive. I have watered down the drinks a couple times however, the taste is still lingering. The caffeine level feels very high and that is my only criticism. Thank you so much for your service, I love bubble tea and very much appreciate you. Thank you. Please do not overdose us lol jk..

2021-05-08Ive been in Taiwan for four years and this is definitely the most authentic bubble tea in UWS, their milk tea has real tea flavor and tastes much better than those chain stores. Gotta try their pu-erh milk tea with coffee jelly, you can get it nowhere else!

2017-12-18Outstanding bubble tea on the Upper West Side. Service is pretty slow, as there are only 2 workers and they handle one order at a time, but the tea is generally worth the wait. Its the quality of their tea and their boba that makes this place stand out above the rest in this neighborhood.

2017-08-16This place has an extensive menu but a tiny, tiny location. I walked right past it the first time. Theres barely room for three people to stand inside! The drinks were made quickly and were delicious, though. They only accept credit over ten dollars, so if youre only getting one drink, bring cash.

2022-02-12This is the best boba tea place in the city. Got oolong milk boba tea yesterday asked them not to make it sweet and it was soo good and full of flavor. hugely highly recommended for boba tea lovers.

2018-03-06Went here for the first time, absolutely LOVED the taro milk tea with boba. It tastes so much better than the majority of other boba tea places out there, not too sweet, and the boba was actually made correctly and not hard in the middle. Very reasonably priced. I’ll definitely be coming back!
