Extremely disappointed. How can you oversell tickets in a movie theatre? You have x amount of seats, you sell x amount of tickets. Pretty straight forward, wouldnt you think? Apparently not in this theatre. Would be one thing if the movie sold out, but you sold us tickets anyway. Then Mr. Security Guard had to puff himself up when we (rightfully) asked for an explanation. No questions asked, move along. Really? Will not be returning to this theatre.
Thank you for doing your best to keep entertainment available to families and groups! A hard task through these tough times. But, appreciated. My daughters and friend were thankful to get out and see Black Widow. Although the staff was running minimally to reduce costs, everything was clean, efficiently managed and available. Great job!
Just saw Kong vs Godzilla! It was so nice to see a movie in theaters again! I must say the inside of this theater is very nice and newly renovated. I was a little nervous when we pulled up, it looked a little run down, but inside in great. Comfy seats. Thank you for a great evening!
Its a good theater. Theres plenty of parking space, a nice working staff with tasty popcorn, and other snacks. The seats and aisles in the theaters themselves are always clean. Along with good prices especially during the day. As an update, they only accept cash for the time being. They now are accepting both debit and credit cards for payment.
Went with a group for a private theater. We havent been to the movies in over a year because of Covid and we were so excited to see Wonder Woman 1984. The seats were new and comfy but I personally didnt like the recliner part. It was just too far back and I had a hard time finding a comfortable position. The staff was very friendly and we were so happy to be trying to support jobs and business within our community. Bathrooms were clean and I only gave 4 because seats leaning back too far for me.
It a great theater. In a world where going to the movies can feel like the cost of getting a new car. The prices at this theater are still great. The popcorn is fresh, so is all the other food. Staff is nice and they recently renovated so the seating is new. Also, it never feels super crowded.
Solid. Little older, but, who needs the latest IFX and whatever technology and money-making scheme when the movie is mostly what is all about.I wish Id been around when they were doing drive-in movies. I only saw residual evidence of that, but kudos to them, process theyre real movie lovers at great.
This is temporarily turned into an outdoor drive-in movie theater. Delightful! You have access to the bathrooms and the concession stand is open. (Bring your masks) we took beach chairs and could hear just fine with the large outdoor speakers, so you dont have to stay inside your car, tho you can if you wish...getting sound off car radio.
Theater was actually clean for once. Employees are not very friendly, probably because theyre all children and are annoyed they have to work. Although the one guy at the concession stand was absolutely wonderful. He allowed us to switch out the kids fountain drink for a bottle of water, which Im sure youre probably not suppose to do, but he did. He truly made the entire experience a pleasure.
First of all we werent sure the place was even open. They dont post whats playing, only some phone numbers. We had to park the car and walk up to the front window to read what was showing. Come on people really? We didnt get anything from the snack bar. Yes its handicap friendly, and theres plenty of free parking. We had very comfortable seating, and we were the only ones in the whole theater.it was clean and new looking. Very good 👍
As soon as I walked in the girl at the desk offered me her help. Very courteous and friendly. It is a very nice and clean place. The sitting in the theater was comfortable. Spacious seats. They have a butter dispenser. And arcade games for the kids while the movie starts.
Ticket prices were fair and the theaters were generally clean. However, during the screening, you can hear the bass of other theaters clearly emitting into our theater. It was very distracting, especially if your movie is quiet. The size of the screen was slightly small as well; this can be a problem if you sit in the back because the back of the theater is very far away from the screen, more so than other theaters Ive seen. The concessions were very minimal as well. Hardly any variety.
This theater goes back like 35 years. I remember when it was built. Been my home movie theater since being a child. Seen hundreds and hundreds of movies here. The owners really care about its customers. They are always updating each theater and they have great prices. Truly a great movie experience and a staple theater in the Hudson Valley.
I gave only 2 stars because I was disappointed that they dont have the pretzel bites any longer. They have the big soft pretzels and still charging the same price. Im not paying over $4 for one pretzel thats crazy. But the cost for admission is cheap so what do you really expect.
Ordered my tickets online to get through to the movie faster in case I was running late. Online it clearly states 1 of the following is needed for proof. Driver license, credit card used to pay and printed confirmation. I get their and the teller asks for both then rights down driver license # and 3 digit # on the back of my credit card. I ask why they only ask for 1 of proof. Now theres a long line and he decides to get very very loud. Because people come in here and commit fraud. Very rude and disrespectful then people are laughing. I cant say if I will continue to patronize this theater. However, I will never order tickets online for this place again. Better customer service is definitely needed. Bastard!
This is a great local theatre clean and safe. My family frequents here and the ticket prices are below what we are used to going to AMC or Regal. Concessions are reasonably priced and are sized well. The only thing thats missing are adjustable arm chairs and a larger selection of food Items. Other than that, I highly encourage going here to support a wonderful local business.
I love this cinema its cheap and clean and the staff is very friendly. And they let you put your own butter on your popcorn. The cinema in poughkeepsie is very expensive and they are cheap with the popcorn butter cause I like extremely alot of butter on my popcorn cause it takes away the salty taste. I will will tell all my friends about this cinema.
Its starting to decline. 4-5 years ago I believe I gave it 4 or 5 stars. However lately my wife and I started noticing some things. There are 3 main things that we noticed have declined consistently in the last 6-8 months and we go at least every other week. 1) the popcorn is not as fresh as it used to be. They make it hours before the 1st show starts and it sits under the lamp for hours. We usually go to a 1 or 4pm matinee and its evident from the first bite the popcorn does not taste fresh. You can tell right away its harder, more rubbery and chewy, and gets cold before you walk to your theater, unlike fresh popcorn that stays warm longer and almost melts in your mouth. 2) A lot of the seats are breaking. They dont have the tension they used to and you find yourself reclining back further than you used to, to the point where my back starts bothering me only after 30min. into the show and I cant get comfortable. Not enough back support like they had before. 3) This is something not too many people might notice, but the Surround Sound system does not work in most of the theaters. For those that have been going to Showtime for a while you might remember that they used to show you how great their surround sound system was before the movie started by playing regular stereo music, non-stereo, and then surround sound and you could tell the difference. Well in many of their theaters now we cannot hear the sound coming from the side or different speakers like I used to. It sounds more plain and I cant hear different sounds or voices or effects coming from different sides or corners of the theater like we could before. Its still a decent theater to go to and you eventually find the seats that are not worn out and get some more back support, but the stale popcorn is inexcusable. Unless you go during a busy Friday or Saturday night for a 7-7:30pm show, you will not get fresh popcorn. Also twice now lately there was a bad smell where we were sitting like puke and the other time like smelly fart that wouldnt go away. We got up and moved to another seating section and it was a little better but I almost asked for our money back.
My wife & I were pleasantly surprised with this theater. We have been in Newburgh for a lil over 2 years & always went across the bridge for movies. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the theater & how roomy it was. The ticket prices & popcorn were great as well.
This theater sits back from the main road and the parking area next to the building needs a bit of sprucing up.The lobby and screen one seating was very well kept. Only thing that could be improved on, the slides that were before the trailers. They looked like they had been around for a decade or more...very faded.Prices for 2D & 3D movies were the same price. Only catch with the 3D...you lose or break the glasses.... $25 charge.I would not mind going to this theater, again.
I always go to show time cinema in Newburgh for any movies I watch in theater. Its a decent theater, Im sure better exist but for me its just convenient that I live a 5-10 minute drive away and if Im in a hurry to eat dinner or something quick before a movie there are also restaurants and fast food joints of all types within a very short distance of the theater.
Went on a school sponsored trip on 2/7/2015 to see the SpongeBob Square Pants movie. We were told to be there at 9am sharp, but there was a very long line waiting outside in freezing temperatures because no one from the theater was there. We were finally let inside and had to wait again. The concession stand wasnt even open. We were then allowed into theater and had to wait yet again. By now it was after 10am. I then decided to check the concession stand and found an extremely long line. There were four people behind the counter....one was working his tail off, dispensing sodas, popcorn, candy, etc. and taking money and giving change while the other three just stood there watching....unbelievable!!!! At about 10:45am the movie finally started and low and behold, it was the WRONG movie. We were then herded into another theater for the right movie. I have never seen so much disorganization. And after all this, I overheard someone saying that the theater had called the school on Thursday to confirm, but yet nothing was ready.....what a disaster!!!!!
Its ok the employees look at u with a look and thats just ride I go there to watch movies and Im stared down no one, but 2s and its like did do something no but it was the same girl its like Im sorry sometimes in movie they have a little stuff and the ending. And when it ended she was staring me and my mother down like so rude. But its cheap
Whoever has reviewed this theater prior to tonight must be employees. I just saw Dead Pool and the theater its in smelled. Now Im seeing Star Wars and the room was never cleaned from the last show. There is food on the floor in chairs. When did theaters stop cleaning between showings?????
Bait & switch policy with their movie passes. I recently received 2 movie passes that are not valid for some movies. Although it does not state it on the passes. So when we arrived we were told that the passes were not valid & we would need to purchase additional tickets. Thats bait & switch
This theater has a bad oddor and its dirty, I will never visit ever again, I rather go to the theater in the gallery mall , the recipient are unprofessional. I actually broke out with a rash on my left side of my face horrible, please dont waste your money or time there.

2022-04-12Our first visit to this theater. The place is clean and the kids that work there are very friendly. The screens are smaller than a traditional movie theater, and all of the seating has been removed up closer to the screen. We went to a big action movie that had been out for a week or two and there were maybe 15 people total scattered in the place. The prices of popcorn and drinks are in line with every other theater. What stands out for me is the older lady who was seemingly in charge of the place. Her sour disposition and inappropriate conversation with the kids, and in front of patrons, was alarming as we could hear her clearly complaining while we were gathering our drinks and popcorn. She openly was talking about firing someone while these poor kids, who were probably working their first job, tried to continue helping guests in spite of her. If they are reading this, know that how you are being treated, how this woman is acting and the serious things she is discussing with you, like terminating another human being, is NOT how a supervisor should act.

2022-05-06Great staff… comfortable seats… don’t blame them for the pricing on tickets and snacks… the movies are a luxury… if you’re driving a Cadillac don’t complain about the insurance,

2022-06-24This movie theater is convenient for a date night with your child. It’s right above rock and jump and Legoland, with restaurants all around. However, this is the 2nd time I have come and the customer service has shown there is a lack of training from management. They are rude and short. Not welcoming or smiling. I went to purchase pizza and said he may have 2 slices, the first Employee said “over there” but with an attitude. Ok fine, went to the 2nd employee May I have those 2 slices there with pepperoni/sausage and 1 plain. He finishes transaction so now I return to where to pick up the slices and the other employee said “this has sausage” yes I would like those 2. But the attitude and energy around these employees. Please don’t touch my food. So I asked for a refund. Management needs to retrain the employees on customer service. Honestly, I don’t blame the employees but management for not quality controlling their behavior. And training the employees to greet customers accordingly. I will drive to Showcase in Cross county the seating is better and the customer service is better. No thank you. Thank for messing up me and my sons date night routine. I won’t return. Not worth the frustration. Management get your team trained they are a reflection of YOU! Sincerely another team manager!

2022-05-16Dirty Hands !!!!!!!!!The person that was making the drinks and popcorn had dirty hands. Dirty under his nails, dirt on the skin. I asked him, please wash his hands! He turned around and put gloves on with the dirty hands. Take notice of the person putting ice into your cup!!!!! they dig the cup into the ice with their bare hands; Im pretty sure this is a health violation.

2022-02-06Showtime cinemas is always a pleasant experience and a great family value. Its charm is how it is not a big corporate run company. Showtime gives a personal touch to the movie experience and a value for your ticket cost. Support local businesses.

2022-04-21This place has gone so down hill. I only still go so I dont have to cross the river and my kids have gift cards. Its insanely over priced and would not sell my children a smaller amount of popcorn in a larger container because they had no small ones. No butter station anymore, you get what you get.

2021-12-31Love supporting and coming to my local businesses, however it only takes one person to ruin things. This should be a season of love however a night of enjoyment was greeted by a rude older woman (Blonde bob cut). She was also rude to the following customers. Ill take my family to another establishment. You cant have my money and not treat me with dignity, especially in times like these. Your business will suffer if you continue in that manner. Learn to speak to people if your going to work with the public, if not then that position isnt for you. There is someone else who would be happy to do your job.
