It used to have Kulu Dessert too, but now it’s gone. Bring back Kulu Dessert! Smoove Ice cream is overpriced and not even good. Their plastic spoons also chip off little pieces of plastic, so gross. Go here if you want to eat mediocre ice cream with an extra serving of plastic!
Their croffles are out this world. i had the s’mores croffle and it was buttery and chocolately topped with a crispy marshmallow. it was so good that i ordered the brown sugar croffle to go and it tasted like a sweet fluffy donut. after i finished it i had to go back to buy 3 more to go, i was going to get 4 but they were sold out. either way it was amazing!!!
Their entire menu is loaded with great choices of sweets to try! Try everything once here and you would enjoy 4/5 of everything here that’s how pleasant the experience and treats are here. I tried the Ube flavored ice cream boba shake, it was rich, creamy, smooth in your mouth, and magical to try! I ordered a small but I wish I ordered a large leaving haha. Definitely recommend this place to everyone
Smoove Ice Cream on Grand Street specializes in cold and frozen treats, including specialty ice creams and boba milk teas. Though a bit pricey, their boba floats are particularly good and visually pleasing, with flavors like matcha, ube (sweet purple yam), and Thai milk tea. Service is consistently friendly, and among the myriad Chinatown boba shops, Smoove is definitely one of the best to check out.
Great spot for dessert and ice cream. The dessert variety are superb. The staffing are amazing too where they care for you and provides awesome suggestions. They have plenty of choices ranging from different sizes: regular and small, different fruits, different ingredients, different topics and wide range of selections. The ice cream tastes great too where it’s not too sweet but just the right sweetness. The food is fresh and the ingredients used on the spot is very fresh. I would surely come back for more.Lastly, with COVID, the place has taken the relevant adjustments to make me feel safe.I would definitely come back again.
We picked up the Ube & Vanilla cake for my husbands birthday (same day). Other than being absolutely perfectly decorated it was one of the best ice cream cakes we have ever served. Beautifully balanced flavors. Well worth the walk from TriBeCa. We will be back to try more flavors!
Smoove has become my #1 go-to ice cream spot ever since I tried their Thai ice tea, Earl Grey and Match flavors. Team flavors were strong and refreshing yet not overpower the creamy texture of the ice cream itself. I have to go back soon to try others! I also noticed they are partnering up with Kulu desserts as well, I would defly go with friends for sit-down desserts and hang out there as well. Total recommend this sweet spot!
It became my new favorite ice cream shop in Chinatown!! Came here on the grand opening day and Im glad to see Smoove and Kulus collaboration because both are very good dessert brands on their own. There are so many unique favors like pina coladas and my favorite is the durian favor (if you are a fan!). I heard their beautiful ice cream cakes will be on the menu soon and I cant wait to order them for bdays or special occasions!!
Came in for something hot as its getting so cold in nyc now. Surprised to find out they offer hot desserts thats right up to my alley! I found out they serve this hot dessert called Cantonese Sweet Soup that have quite many variations and taste so satisfying and comforting. This made me want to try their ice cream even more and the next thing i know, i got myself a hot bubble waffle with ice cream on top and even brought home 3 big pints of Jasmine, Ube, and Durian flavors. Money well spent! The ice creams taste super fresh and smooth and i was told all of their flavors are hand made in authentic and fresh ingredients! I will order delivery from them next time through Ubereats whenever I want to spend my weekend on binge-watching Netflix!
The ice-cream was great but the service was not. Serving other people who came way after us their orders before us even tho we were there first. Also they walked to the other people to give them they drinks but we had to get up and ask them for ours. Seemed to me and my friend that if you were not white, asian and Hispanic they wont give you good service. And they surely didnt.
This spot is new and a definitely a must visit shop if you’re ever in the area.I arrived in chinatown to run a few errands with a friend and we noticed a new ice cream shop opened. Being huge fans of ice cream no matter the weather outside we had to check it out.The moment you step into this store you are greeted with warm welcomes and gentle smiles from their employees. You are pretty much treated like family by staff that is eager to show you their sweet treats. Although they serve ice cream our entire experience warmed our hearts. They have classics such as Matcha Green Tea and Vanilla (Madagascar) to more interesting flavors such as their durian (must get if you’re a fan or if you are a bit more daring), corn flakes bourbon, and pina colada. I personally loved their tea flavors (Thai, Jasmine Milk Tea, and Matcha Green Tea) as well as their Lychee Rose. This is definitely not the spot to leave with just one scoop, because you will regret it.Besides ice cream, they make adorable and well crafted unicorn cakes that are on display in the fridge on the left as you enter. We were really tempted to get it on a whim just because it was so well made. These will make excellent birthday cakes because they’re absolutely gorgeous. It was also important for us to see that proper precautions were taken for customers and staff especially during these times. And this shop does just that, if not more. Its evident how much care they put in designing this space so that you are comfortable knowing that you are safe during your visit. Their cute instagram barrier at the register is adorable and a creative touch that really sealed the deal for us when we entered.
My child and I went here after we ate dinner at a restaurant in Soho. My kid wanted to try bubble tea and ice cream at the same time (which is boba float.) When I paid, I found that my credit card chip got damaged. It was so unexpected because I just used the card for dinner 10 min ago. I didn’t have cash even a penny or other cards in my wallet. It was so embarrassing because my card got damaged during travel and my kid really wanted to eat the boba ice cream at that moment. And then THE guy (named Johnny) told me, “Just take the boba for your kid and pay later.” I thought he was an angel!! My kid was so satisfied with the taste of boba float. I went back to my hotel, took some cash, went back to the store, and paid. What a fairy tail moment!
Our party of 7 have been craving for asian desserts since Covid and was thrilled that it was so conveniently located. We ordered a mix of both cold and hot desserts:- mango sago pomelo (cold)- durian pomelo (cold)- walnut soup (hot)- sesame balls in ginger soup (hot)We also tried their Asian flavored ice cream:- Thai milk tea,- matcha,- durian,- lychee rose,- jasmine milk tea- earl greyI love all the flavors! 🍦🍧 Can’t wait to be back!!!
This was a really good treat on a really hot day. And it was filling.I was surprised at how good the croffle was. Perfectly cooked and the layer of I think caramel on top was really tasty. I probably got the wrong flavor of ice cream as I felt the matcha over powered the taste of the croffle. I woudl go with a strawberry or a vanilla link flavor. The Matcha was good but overpowering for my palate. The place is smalland clean. The service was great and quick. Definitely will go back and try other flavors.
Love this place! It serves handmade ice creams made with REAL FRUITS. The ice creams taste fresh, creamy and with elastic texture. Highly highly recommend this place!! I believe it’s the best in Chinatown.I went to this place again with friends. Never disappointed me.

2022-03-22We came here to eat a yummy snack before heading home and to rest our weary feet. We were able to try a few ice cream flavors and each flavor was super creamy and flavorful. I ended up getting a large ube float which was a delicious and sweet treat. I should have gotten a small because the large was a lot and sooo sugaryyy.Farabe ended up getting the ube drink and they found it to be weak. From the color of their drink it looks like the flavor was lacking. The shop was empty when we arrived but filled up quickly. The staff was very nice and personable.I would be open to trying the other float flavors and maybe trying their ice cream and waffles next time.

2021-12-26Great ice cream and dessert shop with exotic and classic flavors, croffles (a croissant and waffle in one), boba floats and other treats. Lots of options (including make your own), good quantities great prices. Definitely recommend.I had three scoops of ice cream, black sesame, lychee rose and ube (they also allow sampling) and all of them including the ones I sampled, had great texture, good flavor and appropriate sweetness. I like the lychee rose and ube the most. They also seem to have a nice rewards program.

2022-01-24It was my first coming here. Anyone who knows me know that I love bubble tea. I saw this on TikTok so I had to try it. This is by far the best bubble tea I ever had. It was worth the 1hr trip. I got 2 so I can save one for the following day.lol Best part is that the price was very reasonable. I would definitely be going back again.

2021-10-08Looking for a fun dessert near the LES? Smoove ice cream with Kulu dessert combo is like having the best of both worlds. A Thai ice tea boba float with a side of triple sesame bubble waffle, black sesame ice cream, caramel popcorn, dragonfruit, condensed milk, roasted sesame and whipped cream. Their entire menu is loaded with great choices of sweets to try and they’re all based on tea drinks. You can’t go wrong with any of the flavors. The staff was very informative on all the flavors and warned customers asking for durian if they hadnt tried it before and let them sample flavors.

2021-12-28Our last stop in NYC was at this shop. As soon as I saw @food_laurens pictures, I knew I had to try it.We came for the Ube Boba Float and it did not disappoint! The Ube ice cream was amazing. They have tons of unique ice cream flavors that I would definitely come back for. I also really want to try the croffles (croissant waffles).

2021-11-16These are adorable but they absolutely look better than they taste 💁♂️. Honestly, just get the ice cream (Earl gray one is pretty great!!) and dont even bother with the tea. The ice cream is not too bad but the tea is somehow watery but too sweet at the same time. The two together just dont work at all though...

2022-05-17My friend and I went to Smoove Ice Cream around 4pm on a Sunday. The location is right off of Grand Street (B/D) where Stax Ice Cream used to be. They have a small seating area, and we were lucky to come at an off-time, but you have to be lucky because the area only seats 3 small parties. You can order at the counter or through a self-service kiosk.I got a value combo with a 6oz ube boba float and a strawberry cream cheese croffle ($11.95). My friend got a 6oz strawberry cream jasmine tea boba float ($7.95), which she enjoyed. I will say that my boba float was tasty. However, I would not say that the ice cream elevated it to the next level or made it that drastically different from a normal taro slush. Also, I have seen other peoples pictures where the float looks a lot prettier and insta-friendly. Both of our drinks also had a lot of ice, as another reviewer mentioned here as well. The croffle I had was also delicious. The only negative was that it was really difficult to cut. However, the croffle had a nice crisp and a sweet croissant flavor that I fully enjoyed. The cream cheese topping went well with the strawberry, and was not overly sweet. When Stax used to be here, it used to be one of my top ice cream places in the city, and it seems like the ice cream is similar, with sweet flavors and creamy consistency. As a result, I would definitely return to Smoove to try the other flavors on the menu. While it is pricey, I think it is competitive with all the other places in Chinatown. However, I see more value in the croffle than the boba float!

2022-07-18The people there were very nice and very helpful! The ice cream was very good! The tea part wasn’t my favorite and the mocha flavor wasn’t very strong!

2022-03-21I love this ice cream joint! My fave flavor is the salted caramel and the olive with goat cheese. Seriously, their flavors are so different that it makes you not want to try it but its worth a try. I like the fact that they have different flavors every month.Line is long but very fast moving. Street parking only.
