I had a a really good experience with Solar Liberty. They are highly professional and very well priced. Initially I was going to go with Tesla because they really did have the cheapest prices but I am so glad I paid a little more and went with a local company. Amy, my representative at Solar Liberty was excellent. I have no hesitation and recommending them to other people. Using the right company to get solar is extremely important and so I would advise any potential homeowners who want solar to really check into the company they are using.
Ive been very happy with my solar installation. Solar Liberty did a great job throughout the process, from the initial quote/proposal all the way through turning the system on. The proposal was very detailed and included a pretty accurate representation of the performance I should expect to see throughout the years. During the installation all of the workers were very professional and explained every step of the process and worked with me where any minor adjustments needed to be made. I only wish I had done this sooner to avoid the new fire codes so I could have squeezed more panels up there.
Great products and a great company. My solar panels were installed over three years ago. Installation was performed efficiently and professionally without any problems. System has been performing well since. One of the best investments I ever made. I joking tell friends that I have installed a printing press on my roof that prints me $$$ every day. The Earth needs more people to consider going solar. Solar Liberty is a great company to turn that goal into reality.
Very satisfied with solar liberty’s service we had for installing solar panels on our house twice. (We had them come back the second time because we loved everything the panels did for our home). The staff always was there for us when we had any questions. The installation process was quick and easy and highly recommended for any home or business. My husband and I agree it was a great decision and would definitely do it over again. It’s worth it going solar and we love we can monitor the progress of each panel one by one at any moment on our phones. Get some solar you won’t regret it!!!
Solar liberty is by far one of the best solar installers in Western New York. I highly recommend anyone looking to go solar for their home or business to give them a call. They are very responsive to questions and concerns. They do a phenomenal job with their installs using quality products and have very reasonable prices compared to their competitors.
I have had my Solar Liberty installed system for over 4 years now. I am already nearing the pay off period. It is crazy to see how much energy we can get from the sun in Western NY. From the sales people to the installers, the process was a breeze. The work done was quality work and the product has had no issues. I would recommend Solar Liberty to my friends and neighbors and would be happy to talk with anyone who is considering a system and wants to hear directly from a home owner.
This was the second time we worked with Solar Liberty. Initially, we had panels installed on our garage roof. After several years, the roof needed to be replaced. We contacted Solar Liberty about removing the panels and putting them on the ground. They could do it for a fee and we also decided to install more panels. Looking back, I wish we never had them installed on a roof. Overall, very pleased with the installation. Would prefer more face-to-face and phone contacts. I’m not so tech savvy.
The people at Solar Liberty were incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and timely. They did an amazing job installing our solar panels in less than a day. Everything went so well and weve been enjoying our energy output for the past week :)
I had 4 local solar companies give me quotes and Solar Liberty was by far the most informative. There was never a time that I felt pushed into signing a contract. It was more about education, which I really appreciated. From the sales team to the project manager to the installation crew, everyone was so professional and personable. The fact that they have way more experience installing solar and are a locally owned family business also helped. Clayton followed up on our inquiry with a timely, well prepared proposal and once construction started the crews that did the installation and the electrical system were punctual and efficient. Kelli in the office kept us well informed and answered all our questions. The system has only been working for less than a week and were generating more electricity than were using. Thats the whole point isnt it. One other solar company wasnt at all prepared when they presented a proposal to us so we went with Solar Liberty and they did everything they promised. Quite happy with the whole experience.
We started the Solar Panel process back in September, 2017 after attending an informational session in our town. With choices of two businesses, we decided to go with Solar Liberty and we are glad we did. From the beginning of the process to the installation the process was flawless. Solar Liberty made the process as easy as possible for us and there was no high pressure sales pitch. We were honestly told what to expect from our solar panels. The installation was completed in January, 2018 and we are so happy with the outcome. Recently in January, 2019 we experienced some communication problems with our panels. I contacted Solar Liberty and left a message. A return call was promptly made and the technician, Chris, walked us through the process to troubleshoot the problem. He was patient and informative and helped us solve the problem !! If you are looking for a solar panel company that goes above and beyond, contact Solar Liberty for an estimate. Solar Liberty did a great job getting me set for solar energy, starting with our consultant, Nate, who helped us throughout the whole process. he answered all our questions & helped us setup our array to be the most beneficial. He was always very prompt & professional. The crew was great, on time, very polite & respectful. Solar Liberty should be proud to have these guys working for them. I received several consultations from other Solar Providers like Solar City, Vivant and a few others. Solar Liberty was able to beat their prices by far as well as the quality of their panels. From the moment we attended an informational meeting and listened to Clayton Allens presentation, we knew we were on the right track toward getting solar for our rental property. Based on the outstanding service received, we have now purchased another system from Solar Liberty, this time for our home. In both instances, we were impressed not just by Clayton (who is a fountain of knowledge) but by each and every person we interacted with (structural engineers, electricians, installation techs, sales reps). All of our questions were answered promptly, and felt we were guided by true experts when making decisions. We give them four thumbs up!

Update: August 2021 (3 years later)When the system works, I have no complaints. However, since we had our system installed in July 2018, the system has been down 8 different times for a total of over 60 days due to either the poor quality of the system components or because of poor craftsmanship (well never know which).Currently, our system has been down for over a week (red light on the inverter...I reset the system and it still wont work) and last Monday Solar Liberty told me that they would get back to me right away. On Wednesday I asked for an update and was told I would have an answer by Thursday morning. On Friday morning I emailed them again (this time very frustrated) and I havent heard back from them and now wont hear anything until Monday, at least.There is a known Arc Fault problem in our system...Solar Liberty identified this as a problem in the past and told me that they will probably have to remove the panels and inspect the wiring in order to fix it. They just dont seem very willing to do this and make the system work properly. So, our $20,000 system is sitting there producing nothing during the middle of the summer (again).July 2018: Excellent Job. The crew did a very professional job installing my solar panels and customer service was excellent in helping answer all my questions.

I was one of their earliest customers. My system was installed over 10 years ago and I have been very happy with it. My only regret is that I didnt get a bigger system. From day one, Solar Liberty was informative, knowledgeable and helpful. When I had a problem with my system, they went out of their way to help. The best company in the field.
I had been looking at solarizing my home for a long time. Solar Liberty was the best choice I could have made. They took care of all the paperwork, permits, and walked me through the process with no problems. Every time I get an electric bill I smile and thank them in my mind!
I was very impressed with their proposal, and the tax credits I got at the time. Price was over $23,000, and by the time the credits were added, the system cost was down to less than $6,000. They installed everything very neatly instead of throwing things where they would fit. A few years after the installation, I had questions and they came and checked everything out for me. The only thing I was disappointed in was that they promised a 7 year payback. I dont know the calculations they used, but I have had my system now for 9 years, and am still about $4000 short of the break even point. I keep track of what I sell back to the power company and average the electricity price over the billing period to come up with my calucations. I also include the transportation costs that I save. I admit I do not know how much electricity from the panels I actually use that doesnt get through to the net metering, but even if I triple the savings I get from what I sell back to the power company, I still come up short, and I dont use THAT much electricity. At this point, I dont know if I will break even in my lifetime. I average about 1775 KW hrs a year sent back to the power company. I have 18 200 watt panels on my roof. Even though the numbers didnt work out, it was a good thing to do for the environment and I dont regret it.
Its a pleasure to deal with a highly profession company. Solar Liberty did everything, and they offer a truly turnkey operation. They answered all my questions during consulting phase and did a very professional job installing the panels, routing the electric and placing the inverter. I am very happy with Solar Liberty and recommend this company.
I just finished getting my panels installed and it has been great working with this company. They have been very responsive to all my questions and it was easy to know what I needed to do next. They took care of all the fillings, installations, inspections, etc. very professional and friendly folks. I highly recommend this company to anyone interested in going solar.
Just turned on the grid. Staff very professional and took care of all permits and scheduling of inspections. Had issues with my metal roof because of it being different and the installation crew solved the issue instantly. Making electricity and very happy. Would recommend to anybody. Did get other quotes and was not happy with pressured sales pitches. Happy with sunpower salesmen
Our installation was done in May 2011 and has performed well, there were a few instance where some of the Inverters were not performing as expected and an email to Solar Liberty got them in to action and the issues were resolved in exceedingly fast and well. We generate more power than we can use so we have excess power for which we get a refund from RG&E. The only disappointment we have is the rate at which RG&E refunds for the power at a measly rate of under 4 cents a KwH. So our expected recovery time for full pay back for the installations costs will 3 to 4 yours longer than projected by SolarLibery. So we recommenced that you use as much power as possible during the year.
Solar Liberty put panels on the only rooftop on my property that had enough sun to make it reasonable. I have had much lower electric bills for the past 3 years and no problems whatsoever.
The solar panels work fine however the fact that our chimney casts a shadow over multiple panels makes them less valuable. I spoke to solar liberty shortly after realizing this issue while monitoring production to be told it would cost more money to move them and they couldnt go on a different slope (this was a blatant lie).After sales customer service in my opinion is terrible.

Great company to work with. Information was clearly communicated throughout the process. After much research I found them to have the best available equipment. Installation was completed in one day! The solar panels seem to be top of the line. Install and support was great. Was impressed with the warranty on the panels and the inverter. With the tax rebates, it cuts the cost drastically.

Over all a spectacular company. Everyone is patient and takes their time to ensure your questions are adequately answered. For those that they cannot answer (mainly portal related items that are handled by a third party) they route you to the correct team for support.

2021-12-01I love my system that solar liberty! They are the best price around and very professional! From the beginning to the end it went great, Ryan answered all my questions in the beginning and set up a video call to show me about the solar system and the prices. They are flexible with all your questions and concerns and open to changes. They provided all paperwork over email and handles are paperwork for city and county. The install went great, everyone is friendly and will answer any questions that you have. My system was turned on a week after and my bill has went from 120 to 20 dollars already!!

2022-09-01We had a system installed by Solar Liberty in 2017, everything was satisfactory until we had problems. We live in Schenectady and the service is terrible if you have issues. We have an issue which is covered under warranty which has been outstanding since first reported in January. They have now finally agreed that we have a faulty Optimizer but we are too far away from Buffalo to get serviced properly. If you live in or near Buffalo fine but I would not consider using them unless you live in the Buffalo area.

The installation was done very neatly and it looks great. National Grid swapped out meter in two days. Communication was excellent as well. Producing KWHs - YEA.

2018-09-20Solar Liberty did a exceptional job on my solar system. The used high quality efficient components. I have 45 Sun Power panels with an 11 kW SolarEdge system. I can monitor the performance of each panel and they all working great. The array is oversized by 5% and the inverter limits the output on rare occasions. The electrical inspector loves Solar Liberty because they follow all the rules and layout the components to easily observe. It has been working for 4 years, meeting 60% of my electrical load, which is better performance than estimates.I did have an inverter failure, which was promptly replaced. Solar Liberty was very responsive.

2019-09-30Solar Liberty is the way to go with solar. From my first phone call to my last email, they made the process so easy, all i had to do was watch them work. They did everything, plus some, from making sure the house will hold the panels, to connecting to my existing array. I would not think about any other company, and with the 5 yr labor, and 25 yr parts warranty, how can you go wrong. I have already talked to some friends, and they are looking into solar.

2019-07-16I just turned on my new solar system from solar liberty, what a wonderful sight to see the meter go backwards! The experience has been great with the entire staff at Solar Liberty, they guided me along the whole process and very flexible with my ever changing installation date. The installation on the roof and in the basement looks great excited to have a great system generating power for many years to come.

2018-09-23As an environmentalist, I always wanted solar panels but thought I could never afford them on my modest budget. After a friend had Solar Liberty install panels on her home, I decided to check them out. They evaluated my home and energy needs, proposed a system I could afford, and answered all of my questions. They took care of acquiring grant funding and helped me take advantage of the tax incentives, helped me arrange financing for the small portion of the cost that remained, and they even applied for the necessary permits. They were adaptive and patient with us during construction delays that preceded the installation. When it was finally time for the panels to be installed, they were clean, courteous, and efficient. I am so happy with my decision to put solar panels on my home and am delighted with Solar Liberty and their entire staff. This has been a great experience. I would encourage everyone to see what Solar Liberty can do for them!

2019-01-27We got a solar panel installation from Solar Liberty after hearing about them from our neighbors, who had one of their systems. After checking out the references, we were pretty comfortable with the vendor.After we ran the numbers by our financial planner, we are looking at a nine year ROI. Considering the 25 year warranty on the panels, it seemed like a very good deal.Their work was super professional. A local project manager was in charge of the installation, and it went up in a couple days, even in inclement weather. Permits and inspections were done at various stages before and after the job was completed.Overall, we are very happy with Solar Liberty, and have recommended them to several friends.

2018-10-08Solar Liberty installed our grid-tied 5 kW system in 2011, and this year upgraded it with a backup battery and 10 additional PV panels. Their work is highly professional, their people are knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend them.

2017-03-27I just had a ground mounted solar electric system installed by Solar Liberty. I have to say EVERYONE I dealt with from start to finish was great. Any questions we had were all answered and the installation was fast ! The tax savings you get from installing a system like this make it very attractive for anyone who plans to stay in your house for a while. The tax money I will get back amounts to MORE THAN HALF of what I had to pay for the system. You can use that money to pay towards the system or anything you want ! Once the system is paid off , you only owe National Grid or whatever electric supplier you have A LITTLE OVER $18 A MONTH FOREVER ! Great way for us to cut our bills in retirement. Thanks Solar Liberty !
