My most favorite place in New York from the first visit! this is a very cozy coffee house with a flower shop in the second room, where you can also sit right in the flowers. usually in such cafes is very expensive and small portions, but here for an average price give huge portions. they also decorate food and drinks with flowers. the only thing that comes a lot of people and places is not enough
One of my favorite coffee shops in Brooklyn - love the plant room. And... How can we support the needs of many people in the neighborhood better? There tends to be a lot of panhandling on this specific corner which is a drastic mismatch from the clientele and pricing - this is an observation and something I’d like for businesses and is customers to collaborate on... pay forward coffees? A fund for supporting local youth? Neighborhood party and listening session?
Stonefruit is a really cute spot, but their portions and quality continually get smaller and less impressive, especially for the price. Take their grain bowl as an example, youre going to spend $13 for a bowl portion and get enough faro to feed a rabbit and a couple of colorful tomatoes to make it pretty.Stonefruit is one of the healthier options in the neighborhood, but it should only be entertained for a light snack and a load off your wallet.
Beautiful Place, Amazing food very modern, stuff is always cool. I dont understand why people put 3-4 stars for outlet or something ridicilous. 5 star for sure. If youre coming first time, I recommend to try everything, Coffee is very good, decent quality. I want to thank Chef and stuff for making life better.
I had a great sit down experience here once, their food was once fresh. Had their food to go recently and it was obviously not as fresh as it should be… or the ingredients were off… they should reconsider their kitchen staff. Their coffee is their only redeeming factor.
Wonderful pastries and lattes. Kind staff. Also DRAM soda, which is a great Colorado beverage (my home state!)Edit: they cannot handle online orders. They had idea what was going on, they wont start the order until you arrive and wait in line. Why have it then? We put in an order an hour before we came to pick it up.
I was really excited to have a neighborhood spot with gluten free goodies but I can’t eat them after I had a blueberry corn muffin that was completely uncooked inside. It was fully raw in the middle. I would also dissuade one from getting the matcha which is unfortunately quite gross ( too sweet - even when you order unsweetened. Undrinkable)
Chill atmosphere. Good place to hang and get a few hours of work done. I used my noise cancelling headphones so was able to stay focused despite the cafe being full of others. Besides, those that do converse are respectful of the working cafe vibe. Minus one star because the outlet under my seat didnt properly hold the computer charger so I found myself finagling it. Often. Unsure if others had this issue. Annoying but certainly not a reason to not return.
I was visiting Brooklyn with a friend and we came across this cafe while exploring. We ended up coming back for more after enjoying it so much. Love their food and coffee. Even though its small, they have adequate seating and more space in the back. They also have wifi. Stonefruit has friendly service and a bohemian atmosphere. They offer a variety of healthy foods, gluten free and vegan choices too! If Im ever back in Brooklyn, Ill be sure to return.
Really cute neighborhood coffee shop. During COVID they are doing to go from their side windows with the full food and drink menu available (seating is very minimal outside). Theyre also selling their plants on the sidewalk. Their food is delicious, high quality and fresh ingredients with a good assortment of vegan and gluten food and pastry options. Coffee and homemade iced teas are so yummy and refreshing!
The place itself is nice, we also liked the food. But one of the staff (the one who took our orders) was so extremely rude that it destroyed our experience. She makes you feel super unwelcome and you are scared to asked for anything (like where are the napkins) as she even puts on an annoyed look on her face. Very sad for a nice place like this. Otherwise, we recommend the place.
I love this place because the menu food is great, and the space itself is gorgeous. They also serve as a CSA pick-up spot! HOWEVER, the pastries are absolutely disgusting. Do not ever consider grabbing one of their gf/v savory scones -- it tasted like cheesy soft sand. Their cheddar biscuits are inappropriately sweet.
Its a very cute place. Small, and great if youre meeting a friend or even working something on your laptop. However, I love chai latte and the one I had did not move me. It tasted alright. A friend of mine had avocado toast which was aesthetically pleasing and a lavender latte which she loved. So, I might go back to try something else
Trendy organic Brooklyn vibe - a hidden treasure in an area that totally lacks coffee shops/restaurants. Wonderful coffee, interesting menu, healthy food. Everything is well prepared. I loved that the bathroom is super clean - that says a lot about a place. There is seating in the front and... back of the place. Check it out.
This place is beautiful, and the food even more so, but it really cant make up for the horrendous service. Ridiculously slow. I wouldve felt bad for the women ringing up, if they hadnt been so flippant. The water was empty, glasses behind the counter were missing...I literally found some stacked so I gave them to staff...weird. Incredibly mismanaged. Oh, great unique hipster crowd gave them an extra star.
Just moved in the neighborhood & this place looked so good! But it all went wrong with the service. When my eggs were ready, they were out of knives. Only plastic ones, I’ve tried to cut the bread with it, but it didn’t work. When I asked the girls behind the counter, they told me the dishwasher was on and that it will take a minute or so. But after 10 minutes, when my eggs where cold, I had to ask again. She was looking at me like, what are you asking? There was nothing she could do. Then I’ve heard her talking about me. The (wet) knives where not brought to my table, but the stationary. Had to dry my own knives and could finally eat my meal. Where is the service? So so so bad.
I ordered a double espresso and the drink was so sour/acidic I couldn’t even drink it. Tasted like it was made with a very light roast bean rather than an espresso bean. I am from Seattle, I absolutely love all different types of coffee (including light roast when prepared appropriately, i.e. drip or cold brew), I’ve had espresso from coffee shops all over the world, and this was actually the worst espresso I’ve ever had. If you’re going to sell espresso please use espresso beans!
Stone Fruit espresso is so very awesome. I never write reviews but these ladies really deserve a good one. The food is delicious and ethically sourced, the coffee is great and there are plenty of inventive beverages for non coffee drinkers too. The space is well designed and peaceful and with all the attention to detail you can tell a lot of love has been poured into Stone Fruit. Will be coming here happily and often.
Great place for coffee and food. They use organic ingredients and sustainable practices which I highly appreciate. On the back of the cafe you can purchase plants, natural products for home and body as well as some stationery. A really good place to work with your computer or have a meering.
The place has a relaxed Brooklyn Hipster coffee culture vibe. They are bit pricey but the drinks are well made so i can not argue with that. Although the customer service may need a little do over on their part. Cmon a smile is not that hard to put on! I stop by ever now and then because it is conveniently close to my residence, otherwise it is not a first choice.
I love this place. I couldnt believe myself I had walked by here so many times but only entered last week. This cafe is THE cutest. Theres a plant shop attached to it with a community table running in the middle, its like your own green heaven with beauty & a wonderful cup of coffee! Cant wait to go again.
Stone fruit is delicious vegetarian and vegan food plus coffee and tea with some baked goods. Minimalist interior but a friendly and quiet vibe. Its not cheap but the food is excellent, makes me feel healthy. For some reason, to go orders are smaller that orders to stay. So stay and enjoy a big meal.
Really nice place, very good flat white, damn good banana bread (Im not sure, could be vegan), also a nice 2nd room with flowers and plants to buy, there you can also sit on a long wooden table. Staff looks stylish, could be a bit more friendly...but maybe I didnt figure out, how to get in touch, in Germany its different.
This café is great for sweet specialty drinks—like their fall edition latte with Maple and Cayenne—and tasty vegan or GF baked goods. I’ve had a few lunch dishes that were pricey but healthy and filing with lots of veggies and fruits. I like to meet friends here since it’s convenient to Fort Greene, Bed-Stuy, and Clinton Hill neighbors. We can usually find a table in the front within about 10 minutes of ordering. If I’m by myself, I try to sit in the quiet back room with the plants. But both tend to be crowded during business hours on the weekdays with freelancers and coffee shop squatters. I’ve tried the WiFi but it seems to go in and out, so I probably would not bring my laptop to study and would stick to reading books here instead. My only other critique is that the avocado toast has a bit too thick of a slice of bread compared to the amount of avo smash on top. Would not order it here.
Great place to come and work. Came here on 4/5/17 and the weather was nice enough to put chairs outside. The environment is loud enough so that I didnt feel funny taking and making calls. Plants all over, nice environment, off the Bedford stop on the G. Ill come back to work here for a morning.
Very “Brooklyn “ coffee shop with great coffee, and small plates avocado toast is bombBeautiful bright naturally lit space, sells many lush indoor and outdoor plants depending on season, good selection and potting, quite healthy. Back room is peaceful and good for working.
Soooo hipster! It is amazing the transformation that could take place from being outside the cafe to walking in.We all know the grim and grubby Bed-Stuy, and we also know how slowly the area is gentrifying and cafes/restaurants are popping up everywhere. While people are smoking crack only a few feet away, the moment you walk in to Stonefruit, you forget the grittiness of the outdoors. The decor suits the earthy farm to table vibe going on with plants everywhere and tables and chairs made from restored wood. In the backroom if Im not mistaken they sell plants etc. Yes, the vibe is immensely chill. I came here for breakfast and ordered the Avocado Smash on Shewolf, White Fish on Shewolf and the Yogurt Pot. Also ordered a cappuccino and mocha. The employee taking my order was friendly and very understanding (because I was indecisive). Each dish had a world of flavor and you can taste the care going into make it. They use super fresh, healthy and organic ingredients. I am a total fan of the white fish toast, an absolute must get if you come here. The coffees were very very strong, some might say thats a good thing, but I feel like it could be a little less and it would be a beautiful 5 star coffee. You may be someone just coming for breakfast with friends or you may be someone looking for a chill place to work with your laptop or read book. Either way Stonefruit knows how to please em all.Ill definitely be back here sometime soon.
Ive been eying this place for months now. And finally today my mother and I drove by and got a green tea, an americano coffee, a spicy brownie, a mini cardomon bundt cake, a blueberry poppy seed financier, and a cold golden/ green apple! From the cool atmosphere, to the awesome workers and the yummy food! We really enjoyed everything. I drove about a mile and had to call the ladies back and tell them that their place was everything I expected it to be asked more! Asks extra plus is theyre open at 8:30am on a Sunday! 🙊😄😍🤗 I can not wait until my next visit! Keep up the awesome work ladies! 😉👑💓👌
As the friendly neighbors of Stonefruit Espresso just a few feet away, we havent had a week yet where the company hasnt ordered food/coffee from Stonefruit! We are consistently impressed by the quality of food and service at the café, and pretty soon we just might drill a passageway from our office to their kitchen to get their food even quicker!
This place has terrible service and I just realized the owner of this place was the rude women who helped me at the counter. I live across the street and popped in for a quick cup of coffee. Ive had decent coffee from here a few times in the past and didnt feel like walking to Dunkin Dounuts this morning. I decided to look at the menu to see if anything interest me. There was an item that I was not familiar with so I asked the women at the counter to explain to me what it was. She pointed at the menu and said it explains it right there. I asked her if she could describe it, what type of texture, was it a spread, is it sweet/salty, something???? I wish I could remember the name of it but it was something from a Bumble Bee or Beehive. All she could tell me that it was supper healthy but the look on her face said if you dont know what it is then this may not be the place for you. Needless to say, I will not be lazy next time and walk to Dunkin Donuts!!!

2022-07-02Pretty average cafe experience, employees were attentive to their jobs and very efficient. The food and drinks came out very quickly and the atmosphere is super nice. Cute cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of items on the menu. The Bundt cake was a little dry, but I can see it being incredible at its peak freshness. The coffee and tea is average, can’t really go wrong there. The smashed avocado (add egg) is yummy and seemingly pretty healthy! Overnight oats were giving hospital good vibes but that’s fine, still edible.

2022-03-09Clean space, really nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. I didnt enjoy the food or coffee as much as I wanted to. Not inedible by any means but tasted somewhat off to me. Not sure if it was an issue of freshness or what but felt somewhat unhappy with my order. I wanted to request a change but it was busy the whole time I was there so I didnt want to bother the staff. Still it was a nice place to sit down and enjoy the sunshine. If I get back to Brooklyn someday Ill certainly try this place again despite that I didnt exactly love my order.

2022-04-05Hipster gentrification at its worst . The food is overpriced, their coffee is downright bad, the staff is even worse. The owner herself has given me attitude, and i only recently discovered that it was the owner all this time .I have lived three blocks away for over 15 years . Nothing about this establishment adds to the neighborhood . Nothing .

2022-06-04Nice environment but the order is messed up. I asked for Egg Sammy, after paid and wait for 15 minutes the waiter told me I need to pay for extra toppings on the Egg Sammy, but I’ve never been told when I ordered this meal at the beginning. There’s confirmation and no following up questions for customers.

2019-09-08Surprisingly affordable millennial healthy filling fare. Great vibes with a garden and plant shop in the back. We went for the avocado toast but really the monk bowl is what sold us. Really cool veggie hibiscus meat alternative with filling plantains and rice. Definitely a weekend morning spot.

2017-06-19Everything here, from the pastries to coffee/tea beverages, is high-quality. Most of the kitchen-prepared goods are overpriced, but everything is tasty! Great open space to hang out, read, study, or chat with friends.

2018-08-16Been there last week for breakfast with my boyfriend ! Stonefruit was such a lovely place with great food and atmosphere. We ordered the avocado toast and the summer salad bowl. Food was as good as it looks. From decoration to the taste, it was all perfect. The interior of the cafe is just the perfect spot for anyone to just relax and enjoy their food and sip coffee. Not to forget, the price was great too. Service was helpful as well . Stonefruit espresso is definitely on my list of the best cafes in NYC ! 😍👌🏼#LetsGuide
