The Home Depot in other cities:
My father came to the store just a week ago and was completely ignored by two employees when he kindly asked for assistance in finding a specific product. If your employees are going to ignore hardworking and paying customers then maybe you should rethink your hiring strategies and find reliable people who will help with sales. I’m disgusted and insulted that my family has ever considered or spent money through your business.
Went to Home depot in Auburn, NY. Went to purchase a carpet for our new home. AN EMPLOYEE that was working at the flooring area by the computer was extremely rude. We asked if he could help us with a price and he said its not my department . Oh. Ok can you get someone that does work here? Again , his reply was well if you want to call them from home sure. Blood is boiling now. Ok, well can you get some wrap or ties so we can carry this out. Again, he didnt work there. And he walked away. From now on Home depot IS NOT my store. Never again will weshop there.
This store is great for all of your home improvement needs!!! The staff is very friendly and helpful and they have a great selection of everything you might need for all of your home projects!!! I go here all the time to grab thing I need. I am building an aquarium stand from scratch and they had everything I needed and then some!!! Prices are generally reasonable, sometimes it might be cheaper to get it online but they have it right in the store so you dont have to wait! I definitely recommend this store for all your home improvement and project needs!!!
I bought countertops from home depot recently. Still waiting for info on when it will be installed. Ive tried calling the person in charge three or four times and never received a call back. All the info Ive received Ive had to call the company installing. My recommendation would be to go directly to the company as home depot is not worth the aggravation.
Ive noticed a lot of changes at the Home Depot. Stores are much cleaner and very well organized with much better displays and more visually stunning atmosphere. For example, lots of large color coding in plumbing and hardware department. It really made finding small parts a lot easier. And displays in the flooring department give it a bit of higher end store feel.
I dont live close enough to home depot to frequently visit. I ordered a tool box (which was not in stock in store either time my order was placed) from home depot.com. (didnt know the store and website werent really associated.) After 2 failed order deliveries, the first one taking 4 weeks and finding out my package was missing, the second, my package hadnt left the warehouse on my 2 week delivery date. The call center customer service was mediocre. They sent me to the store for them to clean up their mess. They never called ahead to make sure the box would be there for me. I ended up speaking with a manager. I know he could have easily said there was nothing he could do to make good on the promises the call center made, however he came through after I explained the wild situation going on and he helped me out. After I paid, 6 guys loaded my box for me. Next time Ill drive to the store if I need to order something.
If you cant find what you like at Lowes Im sure you can find it here seem like a pretty good selection. My only complaint albeit we were there a half hour prior to closing they had multiple aisles closed off with a very loud and obnoxious beeping noise going off which I think was for safety reasons so that people dont get run over by the forklift operator well they got one thing right because people Im sure would be running away from that dang noise it was so obnoxious but overall good store good selection fair prices
Ive dealt with Home Depot in Auburn for years. Recently I placed an online order for a storm window. It showed 4 online in the Camillus Store, about 35 minutes away. I assumed they would ship it from there to the Auburn Store. It told me it would be available at the Auburn store in 3 days. I placed the order on 3/21/21. The window finally arrived at the Auburn store on 4/9/21 after being being shipped via ESTES from Delaware. It took almost 3 weeks. Are you serious? Why didnt you send one from Camillus? Anyways, I placed an order on 4/13/21 for an 18 foot Gorilla Ladder. It told me I would have it on Saturday 4/17. As of today, 4/16/21, it has not even been shipped. It was ordered as a gift I wanted to give this weekend. Obviously it wont be here. I tried reaching Customer Support via their phone number and waited 9 minutes until it just disconnected me. I then tried texting with their Customer Support. They claimed because of the season and covid things are taking longer. I wanted to cancel the order and they said it was too late. I said it has not even shipped yet. Didnt matter they said. So they told me my options are to refuse delivery or ship it back and get a full refund when it arrives. That was it, they offered no other help and no idea when the ladder will actually arrive to me. So Customer Service was worthless and their attitude was less than helpful. Ok so clearly Home Depot doesnt want my business, so Ill be going to Lowes from now on. Very disappointed. I have dealt with Home Depot for years but be warned, if you order something from then, dont expect it for several weeks.
This store has their act together! I had damaged shower walls. The original store that I purchased from was not willing to help me find and exchange the walls. I called the manufacturer, they gave me the correct SKU. I looked them up to see where I could get them as soon as possible. The Auburn store had them. I spoke to a rep in the plumbing department. He told me what I needed to do. He also set aside the new walls for pickup the next day. I arrived at the customer service desk, was immediately waited on. Explained what was going on. They helped me get the damaged walls unloaded and exchanged them for the new walls. They inspected the walls before I left to make sure they were not damaged. Took the new walls back out to the trailer. This all took less than 20 minutes. (It took me an hour to drive there.). Kudos! Great customer service! I’ll be back!
I usually have no problems with this store we visit it frequently. The last time myself and my husband went we were cashing out at self checkout and the cashier was all on top of me checking my cart like we were STEALING, REALLY...There were several other customers before us and waiting to cash out and she did not do that to any of them. She picks us I dont like to pull the racial card BUT THAT FELT LIKE ONE....The only black man around and you staring us down and our cart and come up to me close enough to touch the cart moving things around like you were searching for something... Very uncomfortable, and upsetting. I was highly upset, the other cashier said she meant no harm.....really then why did she not do that to anyone else..
I purchased a few things for Halloween including 2 steel rods; one 4ft and the other 2ft. I was charged for a 2ft one and a 10ft one. I returned to the same cashier to request an exchange because of the mistake they did. As I entered, the older cashier (Jackie) commented to the younger cashier, Here we go. I brought in the 4ft rod and said I was charged the 10ft instead of the 4ft I had in my hand. She said yes but the other was longer than the one I had in my hand. I told her to wait as I went back to my truck to bring in the 2ft one. As I walked in, I made eye contact with her to show her the difference in lengths in which she pointed down the aisles saying, Go to customer service! Customer Service was excellent with me. I asked to have these rods returned and the money credited back into my account. If Jackie would have been more gracious, I would have done the exchange and continued to be a loyal customer. Its a shame that one bad apple spoiled the whole bunch. Thank you for the woman in customer service for helping me with excellence.
They only carry the 20 volt Dewalt lines of cordless tools. Several of the associates were unaware of Dewalt 60 volt system eventhough they carried them about a year ago. They also had almost no electrical boxes on the shelves. I had to drive to Edward Joy to buy simple work boxes!
I am very disappointed with this company. I have been told multiple times that my kitchen cabinets would be delivered on multiple days and still havent received them I am very dissatisfied with them. I feel like the communication is not clear and have many deceptions. I will be taking my buisness elsewhere in the future. I have been waiting without a kitchen for well over a month.
Working on a bathroom remodel and while I would recommend Home Depot for basic construction materials I would not recommend going there for design products. Every item I have bought from Home Depot for my project that is fixture or furniture has been broken not once but twice. Bathroom vanity: picked up and found broken drawer, company sent a replacement and when I went to install noticed the entire product was put together incorrectly causing gaps and an unlevel sink. Bathroom fan: first one had broken welds straight out of the box, returned and second one has been installed for 4 days and the LED no longer lights even though it has power. Im nervous about the other items I have bought there now. This has cost me time, money, and aggravation in my project. I know Home Depot doesnt manufacturer these things though the vanity is from their line of products but clearly there is a quality control issue.
Not bad not great. Most people are friendly and helpful. However things can be disorganized when doing special orders and vendor orders dont seem to be followed up on if they dont come in on time which can mess things up. Aside from that like I said if you need something quick the staff are pretty friendly and helpful
I have never stepped food into a home Dept before. The gentleman who greeted me at the door asked if I needed help. I had not idea what I was looking for or where it would be. I described to him what it was I needed. He took me to the aisle where all the kitchen hardware was and stayed with me until I found what I needed. We spent about 5-10 minutes looking. We found what I neede and there was only one left. He was so friendly. It didnit feel as if I was bothering him in any way. He took the time to talk to me not only about what I needed at the store but also about myself. We talked about my upcoming wedding and family. I have never had help like this in a store. I believe his name was Neil. I will keep calling the store u til I can’t personally tell them a awesome employee they have. I will drive the 30 extra minute to come back to this store over Lowe’s. Thank you Neil for the great work you do!
Nothing like spending 20+ mins waiting to return some stuff i didnt need. Shelina did a fantastic job. Id give her service alone 5 stars. She was cashing folks out, answering phones and trying to do returns all at once, by herself, and i commend her hard work. Its more of the fact the management wont put more than one person at the Return desk. When it comes to other departments, youre better off asking a contractor for help than the employees.
Had a lousy experience with an online order pickup. 1. Was not told I would wait 3 weeks. 2. Sent my employee over to pick up large toolbox and he brought it back only to discover that it was quite damaged (1 tear - in the steel!? Fork lift?) 3. Called up to see what was next and was told they could get me a quote from the warehouse about a discount. I would have taken a new one now, but couldnt happen. Not excited, but this is for a project in our repair dept and this box needs to be installed ASAP. It works fine and we could sand down the sharp parts. The top would be hidden by our service mgrs workbench so I thought, wel ... maybe. Was told Id get a call back in 30 minutes. Of course, no call back. 4. Called the next day and no one knew anything about it -bet you didnt see that one coming! . 5. Waited while they found out I could get a 10% discount for a box with a mangled top. Thats less off than a sale. 6. Now I have to wait a few days for a call from a 3rd party delivery service to pick it up at their convenience. I have never left a negative review (actually, I may have never left a Google review?) So I have to live with this heavy thing in the way while I go buy something somewhere else. I gave them 2 stars, not 1, because the last woman on the phone was at least apologetic.
Ordered a Samsung washer and dryer to be delivered back in April 16,2020. The date was set for Tuesday May 5,2020 due to the dryer on back order. Not a big deal. My boyfriend is an essential worker and took the day off to be home for delivery and set up. Monday May 4th we receive the automated call for delivery. May 5th comes we wait all day for the phone call that should be a half hour before drop off between 12-4. Finally 3:27 pm rolls around no call no show. I call Home depot they claim it’s Samsung’s fault about the date and this and that. Even though our paperwork said May 5th they claim it’s May 7th that they’re actually delivering the appliances. We’re told to call Samsung who states that the original date has been May 7th all along and not May 5th. I go to the store the following day to speak to the manager and bring my paperwork that states May 5th for delivery. The assistant manager is there and all he can offer for a credit is $50 for an essential worker taking the day off for our appliances and not having them delivered. Only to be told we have to wait two more days and take how many more days off of work. Poor customer service not impressed and will take my business elsewhere.
I give this store 0 stars. This was my first time going to Home Depot and my last. I waited 5 days for them to deliver a stove to my residence and when it arrived the top of it was caved in. I called Home Depot to let them know and the woman I talked to said asked me what the problem was because she seen in the computer we rejected the delivery and its being sent back and another one is being delivered in 5 days! What my problem is?? Seriously?? So I then talked to a manager who cared less then the woman. I then talked to the delivering company because I was not going to go 5 more days without a stove when I already waited 5 days. Once again the delivery company didnt care. Not one person even apologized for the inconvenience for me and my family nor did they even try to make it right. After this incident I have only heard bad things from all of my friends and family about this location and I would recommend you go to Lowes. I got the same stove from there $100 cheaper and they delivered it in 2 days.
Home Depot is great in Auburn, NY. People are VERY helpful. This store is probably the same size as other Rochester HD stores but the amount of people shopping at the Auburn store is much less than in Rochester and surrounding locations. Hence, the employee ratio is much higher to the amount of customers and the available store employees have more time to assist each customer. I will continue to shop at HD in Auburn rather than shopping in the Rochester, NY area. Please continue to staff the employees as you have in the past. Thank You!
I had a very important job to go to and called home depot first thing in the morning so they could move up a ton of stuff i ordered to the front desk for when i arrived i could just pick it up and go since i was in a hurry. They had 4 hours to do this and apparently that wasnt enough because when i went there, my supplies werent there and the lady at the front desk couldnt care less....she just scrapped her nails and didnt look at me or even said a word besides a mumbled sorry Since even the guy she called decided to not even make an effort to walk to the desk, I went around the store and spent a quarter of my work time just gathering supplies
All of the workers were interested in helping. Though young man in flooring was never told there is a difference between linoleum and vinyl... until I explained it. I told him I was looking for linoleum, NOT VINYL! I almost bought what he showed me, thankfully I questioned it. Educate your workers!
Associates are always standing in front of the entrance talking or just in the middle so you have to walk around them. Getting asked 6 times if they can help you with anything by 6 different associates gets annoying. I worked in retail...just say hi if a customer needs something be approachable and visable-dont ask everyone you see if they need help. Self-checkout is self-checkout dont take stuff out of my hands and do the self check-out process for me. If I need help I will ask you. Associates also talking in self-checkout are not paying attention to customers screens that say they need help.
I forgot my wallet one day, decided to give Apple Pay a try, CALLED FIRST. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK SAID THEY ACCEPT APPLE PAY. SO I DROVE 20 MINUTES OUT OF THE WAY FOR IT COME TO FIND OUT YOU DONT. Horrible Experience and very displeased. Wouldn’t recommend. Go to Lowe’s or Walmart.
I had a refrigerator delivered to me. It had a dent on the side. My husband refused the order and did not sign paperwork. The delivery driver said well I not going to move your old refridgerator from the garage to the house and commented to his partner happy wife, happy life. Then I never heard back from Home Depot for 4 days. I called them and they had me passed along to the delivery place, then they passed me to another dept, then they connected me to whirlpool who hung up on me. I ended up cancelling my order. The Home Depot definitely dropped the ball on this one.
The store hired me to clean out there trench drains in the garden room, after getting paperwork signed and walking away from pro desk there employee Nick said to a coworker ‘I can’t believe they contracted that idiot’ I immediately wallked back towards him and asked him if he just called me a idiot. He replied that he was talking about another contractor. Aparantly nick had us out at his home, not for work but for a estimate, before nick calling me a idiot, he had made other suddle comments about him not liking our company. I do believe he was talking about me and he didn’t think I was still in earshot. Talked to management about issue they said they were going to talk to nick but I’m not very confident much will be done.
Was not happy I opened up an account, and received a 25.00 gift card, I spent 6.00 over the 25.00, and the only way I could use it, I had to put the 6.00 on my new charge card.( Could not use cash) what a scam.... They should @ least tell you, when you get the 25.00 if u go over the 25.00 it only will be good if you use your new Charge Card... Really???
They should call it the Made in China Depot. I only shop hear because it is the closest hardware store to my home. Staff borders on retarded. Just because you make slightly more than minimum wage doesnt mean I want your option without asking for it. Im sure one of there employees was stoned. I should of asked her what she was on, it seemed like she was really enjoying herself!
Do not ever order a special order from this place. We have been waiting almost a month for special flooring that tey charged to our charge account and all we can get for an answer about when we will receive it is a bunch of lies and double talk. Ive written a scathing lettter to the CEO of Home Depot ahd hope the sh.. hits the fan at this store. Its obvious this store treats the customers lousy - on any day at any time look at the number of customer cars at HD and then go to Lowes and count the many, many more customer cars. This flooring is intended to go into our bathroom remodel which has been held up for a month because of these jerks. If you want to do a project, this store will make sure you cant finish it. STAY AWAY FROM THE HOME DEPOT. Special orders arent filled because HD does not pay its vendors and mistreats its vendors.

2022-02-12We recently bought a $1600!! Toro snow blower, it worked great, twice! then an internal throttle linkage within the machine disconnected/broke, rendering it useless without paying for a repair.- the day after it was delivered.Ive contacted the Auburn Home Depot twice to have it picked up. The first time, they said they had scheduled both pickup and then delivery of a different unit to replace it 2/5. I was happy and it felt like an easy process. The pickup/delivery date arrived, neither the pickup or delivery showed up.I called again, yet again reassured it would be picked up, they didnt know why it hadnt been picked up, except this time there was no replacement (must have sold the other unit from under us, instead of reserving it for our replacement).OK, fine, maybe I didnt want a snow blower that breaks down after TWO uses anyways, a return would be great! the next pickup scheduled was 2/10Low and behold, 2/10 passes by and I still have a $1600!! paperweight that I cant physically return without renting a U haul. Im so sick of making these calls. Im sure it could be repaired but why should I have to repair a $1600 snowblower after two uses!Auburn Home Depot, it was a delivery order placed online, Kelsey Jones, please, for the love of god, take this thing away and refund us.

2021-12-18Love hd good products, 10% veterans discount, apparently they now have an app to put on your phone for veterans to be able to scan for veterans discount. The app will make it so a cashier will not have to check if for discount.Unfortunately Home Depot is going to self checkout

2022-01-30I don’t know why they have a lot of women working in the front at Home Depot every time you ask them if they have a product they have no idea what you’re talking about what it’s used for they don’t learn any of the products that they sell in the store if you work there you should be trained on what products are in the store what are used for to help customers they come up to you can I help you sir yes you tell them what you want and they have no clue what it is you got to search the store and find anyways

2022-06-08In and out. Needed no help. Aisles are marked clearly, employees polite.
