The Kitchen in other cities:
Great place for any occasion. We had our anniversary dinner (in October) at an intimate table inside. The food was outstanding and included some new offerings. The staff was very attentive and fun to chat with. This was not our first visit and will definitely not be our last.
The Kitchen is my Absolute Favorite restaurant! From the warm & friendly staff, to the Always Amazing food, every visit is a treasured experience. A Locally sourced & always Fresh menu, fantastic cocktails, stellar wine list, and decadent desserts. If you havent been yet, you Owe yourself the experience! The owner even took time out of a very busy Friday night to come out and sit and visit with us for a few minutes; to get to know her customers! What Phenomenal customer service. As a business owner myself, I understand the sacrifice of even a few moments of time on a very busy night. Thank you Kitchen, for always exceeding our expectations. We cant wait to come back!!!!
Delicious beet salad and white bean soup! So good.Excellent drinks and a great drink menu.I wouldn’t order the Utica greens again (it was really greasy) or the pappardelle with pesto and vegetables (also very oily and didn’t have much flavour despite the pesto). But I would return and order other things - and enjoy the garden, which is lovely. Our waitress was kind and helpful, too.
When the menu shows you the desserts first, beware. The service was excellent. The food selections were limited and the quality mediocre. Most of the entrées seemed to ok have no protein. You had to add a protein on (e.g. chicken or sausage). We had the bruschetta as an appetizer, which was very good. However, the risotto was dry, and the added chicken tasted as if it had been left over from something else. Also the selections were extremely overpriced. Its shame as the venue was charming and the service lovely.
This is my favorite restaurant in town. The Mixed greens and beet salad is truly amazing. My favorite entree are the pan seared scallops with cauliflower purée. It’s amazing. We live in Alexandria Bay and since this place has opened we have become regulars. Out of the two dozen times we’ve been here we haven’t had a meal that wasn’t exceptional. Kudos to the chef. The service is always perfect and the ambiance is just divine. We are so grateful you guys have open an upscale restaurant in the bay. Even though you have wonderful original dishes our kids just love the Mac and cheese and we all enjoy the outdoor gardens. Thanks again
Great place! The food was delicious. Our party consisted of a vegan, meat eaters, and someone looking for lite fare. The ingredients in everything was fresh. The appetizers were amazing and each of us were thrilled with our meal. We also lucked out with the weather and got to enjoy the lovely outdoor patio. I Will eat here every time Im in the area.
I wouldnt eat at this establishment if it was free! We vacation in Alexandria Bay yearly. This place was highly recommended by a business owner in town. Day 1. We got to the restraunt 15 minutes prior to opening and was told that we couldnt be seated for over an hour. ( Not a single person there) Day 2. Lets try this again. 4 people dining outside and we were told that we wouldnt be able to be seated for an hour and a half. ( Mind you there are no reservations needed, no cars in parking lot, and no cars waiting.) This was extremely disappointing! We then happily ate in another restaurant in town with great service.
The food is truly some of the best around, but as somebody who works in the service industry I have to say that the service is nowhere near where it should be. Our server did not seem happy that they were given a new table (looked at the host and said “Really?!?” Very loudly). We ordered wine that was never delivered to us and they did not come back to fill our waters at all. The owner was seated right behind us and also did not seem to notice the lack of service we were receiving. It was pretty odd. This might be a case of the fact that the food is so good they choose not to care about the rest. I want to repeat, the food is delicious but the service almost ruined the experience
The Kitchen is a wonderful place to sit, relax and chat with friends while enjoying a glass of wine or a cocktail. The atmopshere is quaint and intimate and the food is absolutely amazing. Between me, my fiance and my friend, we tried quite a few things from the small plate menu - everything was delicious! We will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at The Kitchen for the wonderful experience.
This place was awesome. Not really my style decor but still cool. Food was fantastic. We had a starter two entrees and a bottle of wine and or bill was under $100 which really isnt too bad for the caliber experience we received. Music was great (nice call in the sonos). Waitress was very pleasant and was very knowledgeable of menu and local area. We were rewarded for making trip off the beaten downtown path of A-bay. Check it out.
Loved the ambiance of this place! Quaint and welcoming. We sat outside on a beautiful warm summer evening. The food was fantastic. Just eclectic enough to be excite and absolutely delicious. The service was great. Was fortunate to meet with owner/chef and her husband, had a lovely chat. Overall a wonderful experience.
My first thought was, its a bed and breakfast how good can the food possibly be. The answer-- outstanding! We dined outside in the patio and garden area, which is lovely. Our meals were served on distinctive cedar boards, a nice touch. Everything was delicious but the portions were meager, hence only 4 stars for an otherwise 5 star experience.
Very disappointing meal after reading many good reviews. Beef Welling was nothing more than a mediocre filet on a piece of puff pastry. The whole meal was tasteless. Very Limited menu and one of five choices was not available when we arrived at 5 pm when it opened. The owner told me I did not understand how difficult it was to get Pork Belly. If it is that hard to get then dont put it on the menu. Would not recommend. Go to Clayton to Bellas Much better Food !!
Hands down the best food in the area. We had two servers: Dorothy for lunch, who is incredibly sweet and Alex for dinner - both of which were fast, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. We were checked on by the two of them and the owner. Even the chef came out to greet us - twice! The outdoor area is beautiful and we just cant say enough about the food. From the fresh baked banana bread with banana foster spread to the Utica Greens, Shiitake Bruschetta with Gorgonzola Dulche and the Zoodles with a meatball, this chef delivered on absolutely everything. Go here and be blessed. Maybe they will even bring you complimentary Watermelon Tajin while waiting for your food. Alex did for us!
My family and I had such an amazing dinner here over the Memorial day week. The place is quite small, but plenty big enough for our family dinner. It was fairly quiet in town thatbweek and we had the whole place to ourselves. Such a cute place and what an amazing meal that we all had.
Wow! I was afraid to eat at all the other restaurants in town honestly. My fiancé and I googled for hours to find another restaurant close by. This place popped up and only had 7 reviews. We are from PA and I work in the city. Small portions but honestly we can all use that! I had the scallops and they were done to perfection! My fiancé at the filet mignon it was also done to perfection! However the guacamole dip needed some spicing up. Everything seems very fresh farm to table fresh. It has an old world charm that takes you back in time.
We were very pleased with our dinner last evening.. It was even more enjoyable as it is one block from my Grandparents home near the park. They are gone now.. house was sold yrs ago but the memories will never disappear..... Thank you.. and our young waiter from Alaska... very very efficient...
STAY AWAY if you have children!!!!!!The service is slow and unaccomodating at all!!!! The owner was oblivious to our complaints and in fact was angry at us for daring to voice our opinions... Any place with a minimal service self conscious would have tried to compensate us... Not there though - the customer is always wrong apparently...The food is good though by the time it arrived we were all too annoyed with the place to notice...
The marriage between presentation, tastes and textures are impeccably portrayed by chef Sam Munna, her demand for quality, clean and sustainable ingredients is clearly represented in her cuisine I have nothing but respect for this self taught foodie worthy of the accolades of anyone of todays famous chefs...this is a MUST eat at when your in Alexandria Bay...our best find yet!

2021-10-16OMG I dont even know where to start. Everything about this meal was amazing. Our server was so sweet. She started us with apple slices & our soup. The chicken & veggies were excellent. We both got daily specials; he the duck & me the pork chop. I have never had better. The winter veggies had celery in them. They were so good! Cheesecake for dessert. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Thank you so much for the best birthday dinner a girl could ask for!

2021-07-07Great atmosphere and fresh, locally grown food. We sat in the outside garden area which was adorable. They have a series of food intolerances, which can be hard to accommodate in 1000 islands restaurants. The server made accommodations with no problem and the meal was delicious. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!

2020-08-30Cute place with a lovely outdoor sitting area. At first we were thrown off by the very small menu but everything we ordered was tasteful. The only dish that strange was the pasta. It was completely cold inside. As if it was cooked before and warmed up for us.

2018-05-30Oh my goodness! I enjoyed every second I was here and every bite I took. The greeter and the server were so friendly and the food was so TASTY! I ordered the beet salad and the perch as well as a bottle of white wine. The ingredients were clean and high quality. The rest of the items on the menu sounded great too. Highly recommend.

2018-07-06We absolutely love The Kitchen! Our meal was so fresh & delicious. The beet salad had a wonderful flavor. My scallops were done to perfection. The zoodles were al dente and so flavorful with the freshly grated cheese. I highly recommend this place. We will be back!

2018-07-20We went for dinner after being recommended by a local bar tender. We werent acknowledged in the main entrance, however, we noticed people at the garden entrance and were promptly seated there. This might have been because we showed up right as they opened at 5pm.Our waiter was new but very friendly and a manager checked on us just to be sure.I had a non-alcoholic rose lemonade and a hibiscus wine spritzer which were both intriguing and tasty along with the beef Wellington which was amazing. I wasnt asked what temperature I wanted the meat but it came rare to medium rare and I was good with that. The wife had a specialty beer, G&T, and a garlic pesto pasta dish on special that night. She enjoyed all of it and I tried the pesto which was very good with plenty of garlic but I preferred my beef dish. The outer garden was enjoyable and well decorated with many things including fresh herbs which I assume they also cook with. After several disappointing meals in other Alex Bay restaurants, The Kitchen was a very welcome improvement for our date night.2 entrees and 4 drinks came to roughly $80. Well worth every penny.

2019-07-05A yummy burger and a nice patio, but some pesky tics and bugs that need a good spraying. Service a bit slow but we weren’t in a hurry anyways. Took off a star because of the annoying bugs and because I took forever for the server to get the iPad to process my credit card payment because someone else was using it.
