What a cute sports bar/ restaurant (very casual). I had a great dinner experience. Upon arrival, my boyfriend and I were both seated quickly with no wait or reservation. Our waitress Jamie was the sweetest; she hurried with our drinks, entrees etc. She was also very helpful when I asked about any dish on the menu. I ended up ordering the cauliflower tacos while my boyfriend ordered a mahi sandwich. Both dishes were very rich in flavor. I was surprised they pulled off having both hot/spicy and sweet flavors in both the tacos and sandwich. Will definitely return!
“This must be the place”Yes, it was the place for the great chicken wings and french fries. We enjoyed the food and their wings were far better than anywhere else around Huntington. Even their ranch and blue cheese sauces were amazing. Also, our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The ambiance, decoration and music were all wonderful. The place was very airy with super high ceiling.I would definitely go back for their wings soon.
The Rust & Gold is an awesome departure from the other bar/restaurants in Huntington Village. They have a great beer selection and the food is fantastic, all in an unpretentious, fun atmosphere that feels a bit like a garage full of old sports memorabilia. Have a little too much fun Saturday night? Head in on a Sunday for their Hangover Tray and fight that bad boy off.
So sickening...this place was awesome with the best wings and a decent beer selection. Shows games and had a chill vibe...until recently. Dont know what happened to their service but the waitstaff was a bunch of immature little kids and the bartenders were bums. Saw some people get seated and served with shots and food before others even got water, and saw one couple straight up get ignored until they got up and left. Thought they ran a place that valued good people trying to have a good time, but seems they just want trash. Many other places in town to spend my money...youre not that cool.
During our Sunday stroll thru Huntington, we stopped at Rust&Gold, had a couple of yummy brews and a delicious bar pretzel, big, warm and crispy outside with dipping sauce. What a great afternoon with my wife on our thirty plus anniversary.P.S. When will the heat and humidity break?
I had the pleasure of meeting Frank, the owner of R&G on a random Monday evening fishing trip. He was super chill and invited me to give his restaurant a try the next time I was in Huntington. We ventured there last Saturday as the men of my sisters bridal shower. It was my first time there- and there were 5 of us all together. We were seated a very cozy but not cramped table in the back area of the dining room. The server came over right away and we were off to the races. The beer selection is good--not too many beers to choose from but enough to make 99% of beer drinkers happy. The food menu was really nicely printed-- there is a lot to chose from but the design of the menu is not cluttered. As I mentioned there were 5 of us and the noise level in the restaurant for a Saturday afternoon was a bit high considering the screaming soccer fans at the bar, the high ceilings and lots of hard surfaces for sound to bounce off of. This is not a criticism rather just something to be aware of. There is a nice outdoor seating area but it was super hot & humid that day so we opted for a table inside. The food came out of the kitchen at a great pace. We didnt feel rushed at all. The nachos with the sliced brisket were great and everything was very fresh. The burgers and the fried chicken sandwich were the clear winners, the lobster roll wasnt too shabby either. The onion rings are legit as well-- I recommend for the table as a side. I would highly recommend R&G as a spot to put on your radar the next time you are looking for a cool, low-key place in Huntington Village.
The burgers and fries are tasty along with the chicken appetizers. I would recommend the Huntington burger with a nice drink as well. They have nice outside dinning with a flat screen t.v. and the tables are separated from other customers to practice social distance. Very nice waitresses and solid drinks👌🏽
Went to Rust & Gold for Super Bowl Sunday with really high expectations. I had recently seen them advertised on a local news channel. The food was really good. They really lived up to that end. However, our waitress could not be more rude and incompetent. We started off with 4 people at our table... 2 eventually left but we had expected more to come. We shortly after informed them we were expecting others to fill the two seats which did not get properly communicated to the hostesses in a timely manner. Due to lack of communication between the wait staff half of our table was taken away from us, therefore the rest of our party could not be seated, so we had to leave. We were approached by management proceeding the situation clearly signifying they were in the wrong. Basically they need a wait staff who can properly do their job :)
I want to Rust and Gold to see how their food was because I’ve never been there before with my buddies. As soon as we get there at the bouncer was super rude, then we got OURSELVES seated outside. Then as the waitress comes up to serve the bouncer comes along and asked for ID. I go “excuse me”? the bouncer then asked again for ID. meanwhile we had not even ordered water yet. Then I said “ID for food??” And he immediately was embarrassed and walked off. I will never come back here. Super inappropriate and obnoxious people.
Love this place. Really big improvement from Rookies. The decor is authentic and fun. Lots of games. It attracts guy gang golfers post-18holes, hungry twits like my fiance and I, and young families...and does so seamlessly. We saw 4 or 5 young families which was really cute and unexpected at a place I figured seemed aimed @ 20 to 30 somethings looking for a fun day drink with a side of stuff to eat. Maybe Im just getting baby fever - who can tell?We sat at the bar on a rainy fall Saturday afternoon. Had great recommendations and wonderful service from staff. We came in in desperate need of wings...and they were absolutely amazing.Had the Mezcal Drink - so perfect and delicious. Cocktails are quality - very well thought out. Beer line up doesnt disappoint either. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend you check it out!
Cool, man cave garage feel. Great food. Drinks a bit on the high side, but average for the Huntington area. Excellent surprise to see Alchemist beer available. Selection is limited as to be expected. Only real complaint is no overhead lighting so its hard to see menu after dark and the table layout felt a little cramped. Worth a visit at the mimimum.
All the menu items taste great and overall there is a pretty good food and drink selection but overpriced, especially for the portion size. The tap water is disgusting. Please get a filtration system. Staff wasnt so great, Also too many local kids hanging out smoking within 5 feet of where you eat outside. It gives off the feeling that someone opened a bar/resturaunt so that they have their own place to party.
Very nice looking bar with plenty of TVs. Good custom drafts and wide selection. Plenty of parking. Can get very crowded and seating goes fast. Drinks are pricey so be prepared to spend if you stay long. Seems like they need more bartenders on staff as getting a drink can take some time when it gets crowded.
THIS MUST BE THE PLACE: It was a very good time, the food was tasty, service was decent. The decor is as the name suggests rusty and goldy; it makes for a for a cool concept. When you go in... look up. The waitress was nice and cordial. They have a cool game concept; board games, giant jenga, and more. The food is seriously very good.
This place is all about good food, great drinks, and of course good vibes. If you’re looking to try a new place, this place is totally worth it! The Frenchie burger I had was great, as well as the buffalo dip my fiancé and I shared. Rust and Gold belongs in Brooklyn or Manhattan, but we are fortunate to have it here in Huntington Village. So if you’re looking for a chill bar/restaurant, this is the spot.
This is one of the best places on the island to just hang around and kick it for hours. Not only do they have great cocktails and an awesome selection of beers on tap and craft beers here (rotated all the time - local breweries, too!), theyve also got tons of entertainment, table games, a photobooth, and realllyyy yummy food. I also held an open bar here for a few hours and the rates were really great. Bonus points: the owner Frank is a stand-up guy, too - definitely check out Rust & Gold!
I went here on Thanksgiving eve with a group consisting of two guys and three girls. When we finally got to the front of the line the bouncer working the door thought it was OK to sexually harass all three women we were with and make them feel so uncomfortable to the point where no one wanted to pay to get in. This was also the case with groups entering ahead of us, but I can only speak to my experience. For example, my friend handed him her ID and she was greeted with Oh hey baby, whats your deal tonight... along with blown kisses, winks and MULTIPLE sideways up and down looks that lasted more than a minute before he even looked down at her ID. It was not done at all in a joking manner (not that this would be funny in any circumstance) and right in the face of the me and the other guy in our group. My sister was next and got the same reaction. Finally, my fiance was subject to the same harassment. Then for some reason, my friend had a CT ID showing he was 26 y/o and the bouncer made such a huge issue with the out-of-state ID - asking ridiculous questions and almost refusing entry to him. He never offered an explanation and was not even using a scanner to check the IDs. I went inside to the manager working the cashier and I immediately told him what was going on outside. I was initially calm and not confrontational and I was greeted with the nastiest you have no idea what you are talking about....he has 6 kids he would never do that! I responded by saying that it does not matter at all how many kids he has and that this was the worst I have ever been treated trying to get into a bar. I was promptly thrown out before getting one foot inside.
Very cool place ... Miller High Life on tap, wings are probably the best that I have had in Huntington, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Been here two times now and both times were awesome. They have dome hockey, Giant Jenga, shuffleboard table, photo booth, SNES games to play ... lots of fun things to do.
The hostess couldnt be bothered to look up from her phone upon our entrance. I said hello and she barely gave an audible reply. We sat at the bar, since she never asked us if we wanted a table anyway. The bartender had a hard time leaving the conversation he was holding with the patrons next to us, so drinks took quite some time. We could see that it was gonna be slow service even though there werent many other people there. Asked for the tab and he gave it to us and didnt come back for the rest of the time we were there. Hostess couldnt be bothered to say goodbye either. What a let down. This was at 5pm on a Tuesday
Charged for club soda for pregnant designated driver. There are so many great bars in Huntington. Ive probably been to them all and then some. This is the first time Ive been charged for club soda (x2). My friend and I had ordered six beers (paid for all of them) and I got club soda for my designated driver, pregnant wife. We were there with about 20 other people spending a lot on shots and whatnot for my sister-in-laws going away gathering. I pointed this out to the bartender and she was unwilling to do anything about it. Not about the money, its about the principle. Sad.
Friends of mine were treated really bad and the manager was very racist!Xenophobic place, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALLDont ever waste your time going to this bar, the manager is very xenophobic and rude! They say it is a sports bar but friends of mine tried to watch a world cup game and were kicked out for NO REASON!!

As Huntington grows the back side of Main St and Gerard St, awesome places like this add reasons to check out the village. I enjoy coming here for an after-work drink (where the selection is always changing) with the huge garage style doors open for the atmosphere and maybe a quick game of bubble hockey.
Ive never goven a place a reveiw online before but after having donner here I had to!! The atmosphere is very layed back they have fun games to play ect. (Janga) Theres also an outdoor area that really sets the mood! But lets get to thw important part... the food!!!! It was AMAZING. I had the bussle sprouts and spinach dip for apatizer and they were perfect fresh crispy. Then i had the lobster roll and omg amazing. Definitely need to try!!!
What kind of business rounds up their patrons bill? I want to say they nickle and dime you but that implies you recieve something for the additional amount. Its not even about the money, its just a few cents. Its just disrespectful, ultimately to the people that keep you in business. A portrait of the dark side of capitalism. Not a smart move from a loyalty stand point, which is significant in your industry. I wont be returning as I tend to avoid knowingly being taken advantage of.

2021-08-02Came here for a Saturday lunch and were seated promptly. We enjoyed the food & drinks but the service was kind of lousy. The table behind us had the same complaints; appetizers, entrees, drinks, and check all took an extremely long time to come out.We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Dip, Sesame Buffalo wings, and Bacon & Ranch Chicken sandwich. The frozen Strawberry Watermelon margarita was delicious!

2022-02-26The food was amazing and the service was the best Ive ever had in any restaurant on the island. I was there in a Friday after 5pm and our server was so attentive, she even had the kitchen remake my wifes chicken due to the over crispiness, and even offered another quesadilla in return. This is one establishment that I hope stays in Huntington. And please keep your staff. From hostess to server to kitchen, theyre all fantastic. BTW, this was my wifes and my own first time here since it was Rookies.

2022-05-07As a vegetarian, I tried the cauliflower tacos and was extremely pleasantly surprised. Would definitely get them again, previously Id had the beyond meat here, which is okay. But discovering these tacos - man oh man.We started with some apps that were great too. It was a early spring evening and we were able to sit inside but next to the open door so it was comfortable but I got to feel like I was outside.

2022-05-19Great spot to catch-up with a friend and watch some sports! Tons of TVs probably for a younger demographic and less family oriented. I would think its more for hanging out and grabbing drinks as the tables are smaller (look to be 4 people max), but we sat at the bar.

2022-05-27Grady was great, but the place is filthy and unappealing. The counter too was sticky and filthy. I would never go back again , it should get no stars. The food was not how described in the menu. Big waste ofMoney I had to ask to have the sticky counter washed. They did mine but not my husband’s. We couldn’t wait to sanitize
