My wife and I had a lovely two night stay at the Swann Inn in Beacon. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Neil and Darlene were very kind hosts and made us feel right at home. Dont worry if you dont have a car. The walk to Main street is about 15-20 min. Also just a 5 minute walk to the Mt. Beacon trail. Highly recommended!
Truly the most wonderful bnb! I have been here many times now with my partner, and am always left beyond impressed by the beautiful rooms (all color coordinated and decorated to a T), the warm and attentive owners, and the delicious breakfast meal (which includes homemade sorbet and amaretto waffles). I would highly recommend The Swann Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic getaway. Also it is located very close to an amazing hiking trail where you get incredible views of the city from the top of Mount Beacon! We come here every fall and our fall experience would not be complete without our yearly visit. Thank you for everything!
Neil and Darlene are the best hosts! The rooms are very well kept for this old style house built in 1866! Itβs a charming, cozy place to stay with breakfast to die for!! Each day was something different and decadent. Their garden is magical too. Plenty of space to park your car, and nestled by the mountain with a hiking track a short walk from the inn. Highly recommended! Canβt wait to come back. PS: If youβre hear to see Bannerman Castle, Neil is the co-founder of the Bannerman Castle Trust! So he knows a thing or two about it!
A beautiful inn in an amazing location! The Inn. At the Swann Inn, we stayed in the Red Parlor, which is spacious, gorgeously equipped, and (important for the summer) air-conditioned. Neil and Darlene are friendly and provide incredible service not to mention the best breakfasts Ive ever had.Location. The Inn is a 5-minute walk from the trail head that leads up Mount Beacon to the amazing ruins of the inclined railroad, as well as a fire tower at the very top of the mountain that youre still able to ascend. Or its a 20-minute walk (or 5-minute drive) to downtown Beacon, where there are lots of shops and restaurants, as well as the train station and Dia:Beacon museum. Neil and Darlene offer to ferry guests to/from the train station, but we had a car, so we were able to drive ourselves. The inn is also within easy driving distance of Hyde Park (home of the FDR museum), Storm King (an incredible outdoor sculpture museum), and West Point. In short, we had a great experience and highly recommend this inn for a weekend adventure or romantic getaway.
Darleen and Neil were really lovely. The bathroom of the blue room was the absolute highlight. HUGE and GORGEOUS. Unfortunately we could not open any windows as none had screens. My number 1 suggestion: window screens and since there is ample space for small fridge and microwave -- 1 in every room is essential esp for families. We had our 2 year old with us. Apparently there are tics, bees etc so you MUST bring repellant esp for kids! Also not exactly close to town. It is a 20-30 min walk--with stroller and 90 degree temps this is definitely not close enough to center of town. That said Neil was extremely accommodating and shuttled us a number of times which was indispensable! Thank you kindly Neil! π
We just stayed two wonderful nights here with my friends. This is our first out-of-town trip since COVID hit NY badly. Owners are taking health care very seriously. I see him wiping all surfaces all the time. Hand sanitizers are everywhere in the house. Guests need to wear face covering in common area. Breakfast was very delicious. And I saw him wearing gloves preparing the food. For those of you who are hesitated to go out during pandemic, this is the place you can stay and enjoy some relaxing time with friends or family.
Such a lovely bed and breakfast!! Close to main street and the Dia Beacon and super close to a bunch of breweries and hikes! Perfect for a weekend getaway. The breakfast was so delicious (pina colada sorbet and amaretto waffles like omg) and the rooms were comfy and we loved taking a bath in the claw foot tub! Would totally stay here again!

2021-09-07Neil and Darlene, you have done it. What a wonderful stay we had and it was due in no small part to the Swann Inn. The place is lovingly decorated and adorned with care, the hosts were friendly and helpful, and the beds extremely comfortable. We looked forward to breakfast each morning and were sad to leave. We would happily come back, not just for Beacon, but just for this wonderful BnB.We stayed in the Green Willow Room over Labor Day weekend. We booked back in July. The room had its own bathroom, toiletries, etc, and a very comfortable bed for the two of us. About a 5 minute drive to Main Street on Beacon, the place was a very convenient location to most of the towns attractions.

2021-05-31Our dream trip-we had the best time! Neil and Darlene were very accommodating. Place was spotless and comfortable, and they were always nearby to answer any questions or concerns we had during our stay. Breakfast was scrumptious. There is a snack and coffee/tea area for guests. Neil even drove us to town and offered to drive us to the nearby train station when our stay was up (and sang to us when he found out it was our anniversary!!) 1000% Recommend.

2021-07-04A beautiful place at the feet of the mountain. Hearty homemade meals rich with fruits and nuts, snacks and coffee available at all times.Perfect escape from the city, with trails to nature 5 minutes walk down the road, while Main street with its restaurants and shops are 15 minutes walk, or a quick free bus ride away - a bus you can wave down right from the driveway.Friendly Neil will pick you up from the train station and give you a tour of the town before you settle in.This is an experience you wont get at a hotel downtown. Highly recommend.

2020-10-14Highly recommend the Swann Inn. We stayed in the Green Willow Room, very comfortable with a private bathroom. Breakfast was cooked by Darlene - absolutely delicious, especially those pumpkin pancakes! Highly recommend to any couple looking for a quick get-away to Beacon. Very close to Main Street, around a 5 minute drive!

2019-10-29An absolutely wonderful place to stay and explore Beacon! Neil and Darlene were wonderful hosts; breakfast was top notch. Plenty of fruit, waffles/pancakes, and a bit of sorbet too. Not to mention a coffee & tea bar!We stayed in the Peach Room, and for the inn being fairly booked up, it was quiet as can be at night. Just a really pleasant experience overall.Hardly 5 minutes from the Mount Beacon hiking trail, and less than 15 minutes walking from Beacons Main Street. Well definitely be back, and looking forward to staying here again soon!

2019-07-15My wife and I stayed here on a long weekend at Beacon for our anniversary. Neither of us had ever stayed in a bed & breakfast before, so we thought to try the Swann. It was a very enjoyable experience; we stayed in the Red Parlour Room and found it eminently accommodating, with charming decor. Neil and Darlene both were attentive and kind hosts, even offering to drive us around on Sunday when the buses werent running. As a big advocate of breakfast in general, I give top marks to the breakfasts; a good breakfast tells you a lot about someone! The whole place is very charming and cozy, and my wife and I really liked it there. In short: its a lovely place run by lovely people.

2020-07-06Just had a wonderful, relaxing stay here! Room was nice and clean, bed was comfy, breakfast was delicious, and the owners are taking great care to ensure everything is sanitary to help prevent the spread of COVID. The inn is very close to hiking trails and reasonable walking distance to downtown Beacon. The owner let us check in early and picked us up and dropped us off at the Metro North station. Overall, highly recommended.
