Brides and grooms beware- my husband and I had a horrible experience here the weekend of our wedding here. We had our room block, rehearsal dinner, and Sunday brunch here (the ceremony and reception took place elsewhere) and the way we (including my family members) were treated was horrible, multiple items were stolen from us, and more, despite all of the business we brought in. The situation has yet to be remedied by higher ups of the hotel. Brides and grooms I recommend highly to look elsewhere.
We stay at this property at least annually during one of our trips to Buffalo. Never disappoints and so glad that the hotel is able to operate with few restrictions - unlike last year.Rooms are spacious and very clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. Was a little sad to see the change in toiletries in the room. Not sure what that brand is.Breakfast at Jakes was great and Patina 250 is a lovely place to stop for a drink.
The hotel was beautiful and the staff was great. Hey were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. And the location was good - walking distance to restaurants and pubs. We enjoyed our stay while in town for the Buffalo game. High marks for a wonderful experience.
This hotel does an exceptional job. The team is very friendly and courteous, they go above and beyond to make sure your stay meets your standard. I have over 75 stays this year and this property is a standout. The breakfast is excellent as well. I stayed in the Weston in Memphis last week and you would think you were in two different chains
AMAZING hotel. Our stay was great, the staff was so courteous and helpful (heated up Mac and cheese for my sister at 1am! ). The heated outdoor area was great for a cup of coffee, and ample space in the lobby to get in a few hours of work. The gym was also great, beautiful views and had a pelaton :)
My wife and I stayed here for a night away from the kids. It was great. The staff is amazing, everyone is friendly, and everything was easy. We received an upgrade to the Chairman suite! I travel a lot for business, including some very nice hotels, but by far this is the best hotel stay I have ever had anywhere.
Staff was very polite and helpful. Always had a smile and willingness to make us happy. Nice facilities. Great food for the wedding reception. Adequately staffed at a time when staffing has been a struggle for many businesses. Very responsive. They do need better security, however, as there were some issues with non- guests getting into the building.
Positive: The hotel was amazing and the staff was definitely 5-star!!!!! The location was key because it put us right where we needed to be for this trip. Also, the fact that the parking was free at a 4-star hotel makes this 5-stars in my opinion!!!!!! Negative: The hotel was definitely one of the cleanest I¿ve stayed in. Sanitizing stations where everywhere!!!! But I¿m a very detail oriented individual and I didn¿t like the fact that the bathroom received a rush cleaning and having to see a broken ironi
Westin in Buffalo is a beautiful hotel. Clean, neat and spacious. We were in the executive suite and if you can go there I would recommend taking your honey for the night. We ate in just to stay and relax in the room on our way home. It was our treat for our last night in our travels this past week. Cannot say enough good things about the the people and our room.
This awesome hotel is just an hour away from where we live, but will definitely go back for more stays. From check-in to check-out every staff member we encountered was amazing. Our King room was spacious and very clean. Location is great and within walking distance to several good places to dine and drink!
Shout out to Cody for being so awesome. We checked in around midnight after a long drive and during check in found out that there were no king rooms available (despite prepaying online). After seeing how disappointed we were, Cody really went above and beyond to make it up to us. Breakfast on the house, complimentary chocolates and an excellent sparkling rose. The hotel was very nicely decorated, the beds were very comfortable, and breakfast at Jakes was great. The gym is possibly the best hotel gym I’ve been to. Pelotons, tons of space, and weights up to 100 lb, showers, cooled towels and beautiful floor to ceiling windows with a lovely view. This experience makes me want to consider staying at other Westins.
Attended a wedding, which was in a gorgeous setting in the courtyard. Stayed in the King bed room and loved the space it had. Very comfortable. Room was quiet, you dont hear your neighbors conversations through the walls!Only thing I wasnt a fan of, was the need to use your room key to use the elevators. Became a bit annoying with hands full or food/drinks to the room. Overall though, a great experience at this Hotel. Unfortunately, its been a long time since I could say that with my past experiences with other hotel stays!!
I stayed two nights for a wedding and everything was flawless. Check-in process was quick and smooth. Tech in the hotel was modern (a robot delivers towels/room surface to your room ,Amazon echo in each room, Pelotons in the gym). The bed was one of the most comfortable I ever slept on and the staff was excellent and always looking to help you. As part of the wedding party we went out each night to bars/restaurants and the hotel shuttle service took us within 3 miles to all of our choices. Both drivers (one was a manager and another a very nice Hispanic gentleman) were professional and friendly. Garden wedding and reception in a banquet room upstairs (with a full panoramic view of the city) went smooth with attentive staff. No complaints from me.
Very clean and good location. The bathroom was enormous and the fitness center is very nice! The only knock was that parking is confusing. If you are just looking for self-parking, it is through the garage and not through the Westin, however you cannot go in and out.The valet was worth the money since you dont have to hunt for a parking spot but there also is street parking nearby.
Incredible hotel at an incredible location. The only complaint I would have is that requested a higher floor and knew that it was only a request and not a guarantee. I would have appreciated it if the hotel had even acknowledged that they see I requested a higher floor but couldnt make arrangements. I was stuck on floor 2 with a view of the building wall next to the hotel. Not something that I appreciated. Everything else was phenomenal.
Looked like a great hotel online and the price was surprisingly high so I was expecting a good experience. Unfortunately from the room door lock non-functioning to no remote control for the TV to no bottled water to broken coffee maker to wet towels, almost every aspect wasn’t up to even a basic standard. The hotel restaurant was always closed. No pool. Excuses when I asked for help with lock that didn’t work. Several staff failed to get me a working key card. They didn’t leave me a card at all when I went out in the evening so after paying hundreds of dollars I was stuck on the street at night alone hoping a staff member would see me and let me in. It is not a good area. Even the hotel was hard to find as I entered from a lobby shared with a business tower where there was no signage indicating the hotel so I had to ask a stranger where it was. I’m surprised to have had such a bad experience at a Weston hotel. Shocked, actually. It was fairly clean. That would be the upside.
Beautiful lobby beautiful everything except the room I stayed in. My husband and I were too exhausted from our trip since we arrived at 2 a.m. and did not want to ask for second accept another room. The sheets were hard like cardboard the room was dusty my allergies kicked in immediately. I was very disappointed I expected luxury throughout the entire hotel not just the lobby.
While the hotel is clean and the facilities and rooms were adequate, it is badly understaffed. There is usually no one standing at the front desk when you need someone and the valet parking is only available on weekends. The security is essentially absent. Before 10pm, anyone can walk in off the street and take the elevator unchallenged. Finally the restaurant is closed for breakfast most weekdays and the small cafe is inadequate for a hotel of this size. On the plus size, the hotel is clean and attractive. The rooms are very nice and the exercise room was well stocked with cardio machines and weights.
I stayed 4/9-4/10/21 for my birthday. The hotel was lovely and welcoming. Our room was clean. We had dinner at Patina 250, which was AMAZING. After dinner, we went to our room.Around 1:40AM, we woke up to a blaring alarm stating there was an emergency and we needed to remain where we are. This went on for 15-20 minutes. I called my sister to notify her because I was petrified and she came to see what was going on. They let her know it was the fire alarm. We as guests were never notified that the coast was clear or provided with any updates so we were left frozen and afraid until I spoke with my sister again. I was thoroughly disappointed with how things were handled.
We stayed at the Westin for New Years Eve and had a lovely time - even though it was different than the last time because of Covid restrictions. The staff did everything possible to make us feel welcome and “at home” - but also feel safe given the unique challenges of coronavirus. Our request for a room facing the fireworks was fulfilled and we had a great view of the NYE fireworks display. One staff member, Marty Gartz, went the extra mile to make us feel like VIPs and his effort was greatly appreciated. Marriott is lucky to have him in its employ.I highly recommend the Westin - everything was wonderful.
It is a nice hotel. BUT I had the most ridiculous annoying frustrating experience checking in. The person checking me in needs serious training in understanding his role and providing good customer service. I reserved a double premium room. The( I think ) manager informed me that they did not have my room ready at 8:00pm. Now this was not good news as I had been driving for 5 hours and was tired. I also had a sick daughter in the car who just needed a bed to lay in. So I was of course quite annoyed and could not believe my room was not ready at 8;00pm. This is not Vegas, it’s Buffalo. So as I expressed my frustration I saw one and then another male employee appear as “back Up” crazy. So I was offered the option of of a king room with a roll away. So he kept saying ma’am ma’am and talking very quietly and calmly apparently some type of New hotel management Psychology. . Although I could barely hear him. He didn’t really like it when I said that was not acceptable.- too bad. I asked to speak to his manager and also asked for the number of the regional manager. He offered me the operations manager number but then offered to call him to check on whether the room I was promised was ready. Lo and behold it was. After 20 minutes of trying to convince me I was being unreasonable and that they were not to blame their was a double premium room ready. Now if he had done that in the first place I woujd have Ben in tge room by then. As a result of this ridiculous insane conversation with this 22 year old I will never stay here again. At one point He reminded me that we were living in unusual times and I said you bet we are but I am not someone that you need to worry about I just want to check in to the hotel room I paid for and not have to deal with someone like you.
Large standard room, exceptionally detailed, large desk/work area, no freezer in the mini-fridge, stunning shower, paid parking, breakfast/lunch restaurant w limited indoor seating and order at the counter just off the lobby. Several nice dinner restaurants close by, recommended at the hotel. Would stay there again.
A nice and modern hotel where the rest of the city is pretty old and broken. It’s a big contrast. Good thing is I feel safe in the hotel.Parking cost US $30, valet service is a bit slow, seems like some miscommunication between front desk and valet when we checked out.Room is large enough and looks new. The gym has a nice view of the downtown streets. There’s a Starbucks right across the street.Mattress are comfy but bed frame is making noise. Blinds are very black out which I love.Had a drink at the bar downstairs, atmosphere is good.
Check in was awesome! We were greeted and even taught about the robot that delivers to your room. He was even sent up to us with a couple bottles of water. I also appreciate the complimentary bottle of champagne that was sent up to celebrate my wife’s birthday. That was truly a nice touch. My only complaint would be that our shower was not properly cleaned. There was long strands of hair from the last occupant in their still. It’s makes things kind of scary, especially with all the recent things surrounding Covid-19. It makes you wonder if the room itself was properly clean or not. Admittedly we did not bring this up to the hotel staff. That’s because we were checking out and heading home so we simply requested our vehicle and departed. Outside of that, we enjoyed our stay.
We picked the most perfect venue for our wedding. Dianne and her team setup the event perfectly and we are immensely grateful! Everyone thoughrouly enjoyed themselves and mostly everyone commented on how beautiful the hotel was and what a great find it was for a wedding. We would recommend The Westin to anyone looking for a banquet type venue or to just stay for a night. The only item missing is a pool but for us we wouldnt have had time to even use it. The staff was professional and accommodating and treating us as if we owned the building. The food was very very good and our guests really enjoyed it. All in all it was a fantastic day and we thank The Westin for making it special!
It was an unplanned stay and all the staff were friendly, professional and went above the call of duty to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We had a 1 year old who was super tired and the staff whipped together some milk in a kettle and even gave us some tasty sweets on a silver platter. The hotel is clean, the beds super comfortable (I prefer a firm mattress with pillow top), the bathroom modern, and plenty of space for a baby to run around around.
Stayed overnight for our anniversary and received the royal treatment from Tim (the manager) and the wonderful staff at the Westin! They went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Our room was upgraded to a huge, beautiful executive suite. We had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, a complimentary special dessert—that was delicious, a wonderful Easter brunch, and a late checkout. It was a fantastic stay and we will definitely come again. Honestly, the staff at the Westin did so many extra nice things to WOW us.
The best property our group has stayed at over the last 39 years. The property is grand, rooms and hotel spacious and comfortable. The staff is attentive, personable and detail minded, proactive to deliver a memorable experience, where you want to come back again and again. From the front desk, bar and restaurant management and staff, valet, to housekeeping, there was no question the level of service we experienced. I book the rooms for the group, and the fabulous stories I was told about the staff were unbelievable. There were more stories on personal experiences my 100 plus guests had, that I cannot list them all here. From asking for directions to a store , to asking for a particular brand of beer, the staff didnt hesitate to act, rather than inform. The hotel shuttle was summoned immediately, whisking my guests off the the store in a minute, while another one of my friends , had a beer delivered to the bar from the front desk on a silver tray, because the bar did not serve that brand. The bar tender did not offer him an alternative, he had one brought in from another hotel location, STAT!!! I have a lot of experiences staying at hotels throughout my 35 year career covering the United States, averaging about 100 room nights a year. If you have the opportunity, whether traveling alone, with family, or with a group, GET A ROOM at the Buffalo Westin Downtown.Thank you to the Staff of The Buffalo Westin Downtown for such a GRAND experience... one we all with remember and cherish as we travel in the years to come....
Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Nice room with plenty of space. The bathroom was also nice, so long as youre fine with just a shower as its fairly typical these days. The room comes with an Alexa which is neat. Sort of. Until a kid, at about midnight, says Alexa, make me a cup of tea. To which Alexa replies that shes ordering tea from room service. Fortunately it never arrived, but it wasnt ideal - asking Alexa to cancel the order had no effect. The bedding was nice, but I found the sheets to be a bit rough. Maybe just personal preference though. All in all, it was a nice hotel, and Id visit again.
Hotel was nice , as it should be , service/food/coffee at deli/cafe was very good . I was summoned to the parking ramp by my assistant . What I saw was horrendous...human waste and drug needles ( I assume ) were in stairwell and lift ...I will encourage our meetings to be held elsewhere when in Buffalo ...I refuse to put our employees health/ safety at risk.
The room was dirty. We found a sock and some sort of lotion in the side of the bed near the Windows. We told the host at check out and she apologized and said there was nothing she could do about it. The shower had soap scum and the grout looked very moldy. Very unhappy
LOVED LOVED the Westin!! We usually stay in Amherst while visiting Western New York. Not any more! We decided to try something different and we were more than pleasantly surprised! Loved the decore. Loved our two queen executive suite with a full kitchen. Loved the proximity to restaurants. (We had reservations at 31 Club and it was nice not to have to drive!). We enjoyed breakfast at Patina250. (Can’t wait to try it for dinner next time!) Overall, our stay exceeded our expectations. As did the front desk staff who could not have been more friendly or courteous. They also have a “robo-Butler “ ...automated room delivery service. How cool! Well staying at the Westin we forgot that we were in downtown Buffalo… Felt like a boutique hotel in New York or Los Angeles !
This property is fairly new and in the heart of downtown Buffalo. Theres 5 floors that are all incredibly decorated and designed. The staff is top notch and eager to serve and please. There is self & vallet parking attached to the hotel (for a small fee); the food and drink selection is good. I felt very welcomed and safe and appreciated during my stay, Id recommend this hotel over any other in the downtown area, you wont be disappointed!
We flew to Buffalo for a family wedding held at the hotel and the service was above and beyond accomodating.Every staff member was friendly and eager to help in any way possible.I lost my cell phone somewhere in the Patina 250 and a night shift staff member found it and brought it to the reception office until I picked it up the next morning. Needless to say, I was quite relieved.Ordered breakfast from Jakes Cafe in the morning and the young man working the grille was very capable and courteous.Rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable, but all four pillows were too soft. Would definitely return.
I held a private event at the Patina restaurant and then stayed over night at the Westin. Amazing staff at Patina. Patina made sure to provide gluten free options for us. The Westin suite was spacious, clean, and quiet. The robot is very futuristic! Enjoyed our stay. Would stay again.
What a wonderful Hotel. Great rooms, well decorated, modern and very comfortable. This is one of the nicest decorated Westins I have seen. From the Lobby area to the wide hallways a lot of thought was put into all the touch points. This hotel also comes with great staff. A big shout out to Jeremy and the front desk staff for making our weekend very special. Enjoyed the restaurant as well. We had both breakfast and dinner there once and enjoyed the very creative menu and food presentation as well as taste..Small negative was no in/out privilege on the self parking, but it was more than made up for with everything else including the shuttle service they provided to take us to our restaurant for dinner.Well done, I will be back!
Stayed 3 nights in October, first time visiting Buffalo. Beautiful hotel, everyone we encountered was very helpful and courteous. The room was spacious, comfortable bed and the shower was indeed heavenly. Jakes Cafe downstairs was great for a quick breakfast before leaving every morning. On our last night we ordered room service for dinner, it was excellent!!! Great location as well. If we ever go back to this area, Ill definitely stay at The Westin Buffalo again, highly recommended!!!
The hotel is new. The amenities are nice. Overall, the staff/services are nice. However, there are a few things that can be improved:1. Sometimes, the nightstand/desk is not clean. I can see stains/dust on it 2. Sometimes, the bed sheet is not super clean. I can see stains on it3. The hotel system is not always working. My qualified stays are not added to my profile. The staff wont be able to help resolve the issue
The Hotel was ideally located in downtown Buffalo. From the moment you walked in, you knew you were in a high-end hotel. The hotel is beautifully decorated and is immaculate. The staff are friendly. You feel safe and the room is clearly designed to help you relax. The beds are extremely comfortable. The shower is spacious and the bathroom is extremely clean. It was the nicest hotel Ive stayed in Buffalo.
This hotel opened in September, so you would expect that everything would be in good condition, and it was. The rooms are very spacious and extremely quiet. Stayed on the 4th floor and there was very little street noise. The design of the hallways, entry doors and the rooms overall, lend to a very quiet and restful experience. Staff is always top notch and friendly. Bathrooms are very spacious and more than adequate with a large shower. The location is perfect for a variety of restaurants and bars that are nearby. Since the hotel is within a multi-use building, there are amenities that you wouldnt normally have. The only thing I would change is to have better signage in the parking garage. Especially since this garage is used by offices and other establishments. By far, this is the nicest and most restful hotel in Buffalo at this point.
We had a great overall experience. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spotless. Also was very impressed by Chip the robot butler that brought a towel to my room. The only negative I have from my stay is that I requested a city view room and the view we had was of the courtyard. I will definitely be staying here again.
The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I was at the Westin attending a professionsl event for work, and while I really enjoyed the event, I did not feel like the hotel was well prepared. There was a very long line and delay parking with the valet, and for my colleagues who were staying overnight the rooms were not ready by the promised check in time, and this delayed some of our plans. However, overall, I enjoyed my experience and if I needed to stay overnight downtown, I would recommend the hotel to my friends and family.
Expensive. Room was clean. View sucked from the 2nd floor. Only had rooms with 2 queen beds available.Room was boring and bland with nothing over the top.Would NEVER order room service again. Unbelievably expensive for a pizza, salad, and sandwich. All of which wasnt even on the level of gas station quality.
This hotel is outstanding. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the outstanding staff and space. They went above-and-beyond to ensure our wedding, ceremony, and guests had top notch service all around! I travel frequently, and have stayed at many fine hotels in my day, and the Westin Buffalo is up there as one of the friendliest, cleanest, and most generous places Ive been to. From the bellmen, to the event coordinators, to the front desk, to housekeeping- everyone I came in contact with was accommodating, kind, and genuine. 5/5 stars.
This is a very modern and chic Westin hotel. We had a lovely stay on the weekend of the Bills vs. Pats game. The hotel was all sold out and we got upgraded to the Chairman suite! My husband and I enjoyed in very much. Thanks for acknowledging my status with the room upgrade and the welcome gift. We would definitely stay here again.
Excellent hotel, one of the nicest Westins Ive stayed at. Top notch service at the restaurant, Patina and the rooms were huge and really beautiful. Love the lavender scent, bathrobe and slippers. Makes a business stay so much better when you can unwind and relax. Location is great right downtown and there are several restaurants across the street (and on site too). Will definitely be back.
In general staff was nice and friendly and helped me a lot, especially when everything didnt go so smoothly. A very special thanks to Precious who made a difference. Good things in the hotel: • Great gym with fantastic equipment, also quite empty during my stay. • Precious took very good care of me. • Chip the robot who delivers small items to your room. Negative: • Housekeeping needs to be improved, e.g. refill shower gel, take out used/dirty wine glass / paper cup, towels look quite used (strings all over), shower sealing broken and shower head not so clean. • Breakfast needed a reservation on Easter Sunday, which is not acceptable for hotel guests. I was asked to wait for about 30 minutes. • emergency situation in the middle of the night - good was the reaction of Precious which was fantastic and made a difference. THANK YOU!
Forget all you think about hotel dining when staying at this hotel. The restaurant, Patina 250, is excellent and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have eaten all three when staying at this hotel at different times and have never been disappointed. They serve Lavazza coffee in a french press, turkey sausage or delicious smoked bacon, and their eggs are some of the best I have ever eaten. The hotel is relatively new, less than 2 years old, and is impeccably appointed. The lobby area is inviting and comfortable with places to plus in and work as well as have conversations by a fireplace. The rooms are light and bright and some suites have a kitchen (convection microwave - no stove or oven) with full size refrigerator and a table for four. The workout room is one of the nicest of any hotel I have stayed at (I stay over 90 nights a year at hotels) with Lifetime machines and video screens with HULU or Netflix etc and a great big window looking out to the street. I would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Buffalo for business or for pleasure. The service is excellent!
The Westin buffalo is a very nice hotel. All the staff members were very helpful and pleasant. The lobby is gorgeous and had we stayed longer I would have enjoyed relaxing there. The free coffee on weekend mornings was also a nice touch. The room was great and the bed was super comfortable. Our only complaint is that I think the fitness room may have been above our unit as we were awoken with loud bangs above our head early both mornings. We were able to get back to sleep after but it was still a bit startling. Otherwise a great experience.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The service was outstanding, all the personnel we dealt with were great and treated us extremely nicely. I wish I would have remembered some of their names for recognition here, but generally everyone was very professional and always helpful. Our room was larger than we had expected, wide hallways and fridge the room was a great feature. While it is obvious that the gym looks awesome, it was also had pretty much any piece of equipment one would be looking for. Only downside for my wife and I was that Jakes is not open on the weekends, but there are plenty of options just outside the hotel as well. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and return again ourselves.
This is a wonderful Hotel. We stayed here for three nights, the rooms are big and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is amazing. The location is with in walking distance to great restaurants and bars. Tim Stone as well as the rest of the staff are amazing! They went the extra mile to accommodate our requests. This hotel certainly operates like a 5 star.
During our long weekend stay for a family wedding, we did not rent a car and relied on the hotel shuttle service for transportation. We were surprised by the ease of scheduling our trips. Our driver, Patrick, was exceptional! New to the area, he provided fun facts as he drove us to our destinations and even offered to take us on a short tour of Buffalo to acquaint us with the sights. He went above and beyond to make our stay at the Westin Buffalo memorable. He is an incredible asset to the hotel. The hotel restaurant and bar were great, and the workout facility had nice equipment and great views. Our hotel room was nicer than we’d expected. Overall, a great weekend getaway facility! So much to see and do but too little time. Do try curling at Canalside!!
My only complaint about my stay this past weekend was the fact that I had to wait for the room to be ready, we did not receive our room keys until after 4:30 p.m. when check-in is at 3 pm. Now I totally understand that the staff has to ensure that the rooms have been thoroughly cleaned and ready for the next guest but possibly you may want to re-think check-in/out times or put on extra staff to be able to have rooms ready by 3 pm check-in time. For my inconvenience I was given a voucher for a free drink at Patina 250 but that seems a little inconsequential when you factor in the cost of the hotel. Once we were in the room the accommodations were superb, the hotel staff were very friendly and attentive and I would totally recommend the Westin. My guests and I loved our stay and think your hotel is amazing.
This hotel is very new and comfortable or even fancy. I called the front desk and said that I forgot my tooth paste and they sent a robot with a tooth paste. The robot asked me how happy I am with my stay and I gave it 5 stars and it danced. How awesome is that? They also have Alexa voice system in every room which is very convenient for setting alarms. I loved this hotel way more than Omni which charged me a lot for old rooms and no satisfying service.
Pros: Stylish designBoth lobby and room smell nice and freshFitness center is well-appointedCons:We booked a king bed and got 2 queen beds instead. It may be ok for some travelers, but not for my romantic getaway with my husband. Mind you, I booked it via Marriott website, not a random 3rd party website. We were told we could not get the room we booked upon check-in, although they did try to compensate us with complimentary parking and 2 drinks, our romantic getaway was not romantic inside the room anymore. The bathroom floor was super sticky, I felt like I have to peel my slipper off the floor for every steps I took.No one was at the valet parking booth at the hotel entrance to greet us and take our car.
Westin Buffalo exceeded our experience. Staff was amazing from checkin to checkout. Room was a great size, decorated very chic, bed was to die for comfortable. Bathroom had plenty of room with a huge shower. If you need clothes storage you will have plenty of space. Great overall design.
Very modern, beautiful, clean, comforting atmosphere with excellent, friendly professional staff. Unfortunately , be prepared to pay a large amount for parking as it is not included with your stay. The only connected parking garage charges by the hour so even an overnight stay will run you at least 20 bucks. Good luck if you stay a weekend or longer. Also, breakfast is not included. It is a very nice restaurant with a great breakfast menu but it is not included. I have never stayed at a hotel in any state that did not include parking and breakfast. Unfortunately, we stayed during the Buffalo Marathon and from 6-8 AM on a Sunday, megaphones and loud drums from right outside the hotel woke probably every single guest up. Management should have stopped this right away or never allowed for this to happen. I dont think we will stay here again. Its not worth it for the price. There are many other places around Buffalo that offer you so much more for much less money.
This is a brand new hotel. The service is very friendly, check-in and out are very efficient, and the rooms are comfortable. They have a great gym with plenty of equipment, and most of that equipment overlooks the city via a picture window. I havent tried the restaurant yet after two stays. They pump quite a bit of scent into the air in lobby, which may bother some people, but its not in the rooms. The bathrooms are good size but the showers are of the rainfall variety that essentially falls directly on you instead of coming from the wall. There is a hand wand if that isnt something you like. The hotel is quiet and doesnt seem terribly crowded yet. Parking is about $10/day or so in the adjacent garage, of you could probably park on the street if you can get out before the meters are in effect. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance on Chippewa.
Stayed there for 3 nights during a business trip. Always impressed with the staff, cleanliness, and comfortability of the property and rooms, which are large and well appointed. Try to stay there anytime I am in Buffalo. The Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer in Patina 250 is a must get along with the Pork Chop. You wont be disappointed.
Hello all. I just stayed at the Westin Buffalo and I must say how great it was. It was a beautiful hotel with probably the most friendly I have every come across, ever. Seriously between reception and housekeeping, they were always very kind and helpful. I also loved that they were a pet friendly hotel! I have stayed at SPG hotels in the past and always love them but this I would highly, highly recommend to anyone staying in the Buffalo region. Also the fitness center was better than the gym I go to at home! Loved it. Great little restaurants and bars near the hotel within walking distance as well. There was a wedding there the day we stayed and honestly after seeing it, I am currently thinking about having my wedding there too! It was beautiful, the courtyard was gorgeous! I loved it.
We have stayed at the Weston Buffalo NY twice now and enjoyed every aspect of our visit! From the check in to the shuttle to the bartender and food to the room and sleep and the check out! Everyone was wonderful. Zack treated us like we were the most important people in the hotel! My husband and I love to get away for a night and we will return as often as possible because of the way the staff treated us. Definitely a beautiful property!
The hotel itself is beautiful. You feel like you are in NYC not Buffalo NY. The staff was warm and welcoming but also very professional. Our kids loved the robot that brought them snacks. Room was very large for 4 of us. Loved the White Tea Aloe amenities. This hotel is excellant on all levels. Cant wait to come back.
I always stay at the Westin and the service is consistently outstanding on every level, from front desk to housekeeping. Patina250 is excellent as well. The rooms are pristine, big, and bright. Today is my birthday and the stay brought up a bottle of champagne, card and chocolate dessert; it made my day.
Staff was great, specifically Kathryn at front desk, the valet guys and Jeremy in the restaurant. Room was very nice, clean. Bathroom was large and nice. Our complaint: Our room was right adjacent to the fitness center. At 6:00am, we were awakened by weights dropping on the floor continuously for about a half hour. I complained to the front desk who informed me that our room is usually the last room rented out when the hotel is full.
Very nice offerings. Excellent service. Sweet little touches to make you feel welcome. The fitness suite is immaculate and well supplied. You can get a well-rounded work out even when traveling.Nice restaurant on site so you don’t have to go anywhere, albeit high-end. Perfect with deliciously rich food if that’s what you’re looking for.Hotel room walls are a bit thin, could hear the guy in the room next to mine on his phone all night- business, then his wife, it you’re interested. And the person next to me showering.Rooms Very clean, with comfortable bathroom. Great for a business trip. I felt comfortable and safe in the room. Not sure it would be as enjoyable for leisure travel? Lobby is sort of modern and clinical, not warm and welcoming.Meeting room was stellar with layout, offerings and even had an Amazon Alexa for music if you wanted. All staff are exceptionally helpful and gracious. Very helpful, especially Eddy (maybe in housekeeping?)!The best though, was Chip. Chip is the robot who delivers forgotten items to your room!! So cool!!!
My husband and I stayed one night in a Executive Suite for his birthday. I originally booked a jr suite but I accidentally booked a room with two beds. When I realized my error (the day of check in ) I called the hotel and not only did they fix my error but the upgraded my room to the Executive Suite free of charge. When I checked in, I told the staff it was my Husbands birthday and they gave us free desert and a bottle of wine. The room was very clean and met all of our Expectations and more. The next morning they gave us comp breakfast, which meant we had the choice to eat at two different restaurants located inside of the hotel. Overall, I give them 5 stars!!!!
We had a wonderful stay for our anniversary weekend. The staff was exceptional and went well above our expectations. The hotel alone made us want to return to Buffalo in the future. The food at Patina was absolutely delicious (especially the homemade banana cream pie!). A special thank you to Zachary for the great service.
Overall the stay was quite good. However, when i received the bill, I noticed the hotel charged me for 4 valet parking while I only stayed there for 2 nights. What if i didnt check my bills? I will lost $50 and that is not the standard i expect from westin. In addition, I specifically requested to tidy the room and change my bed sheet but the room was even cleaned. The facilities are very new and the robot that sent stuff to your room is really cute.
The room quality was top notch, especially for the price. I have no complaints there. Spacious, inviting, it was quite a lovely stay. I do wish that more amenities were provided. I would much rather have complimentary breakfast rather than and Echo speaker I can talk to that does next to nothing, not even play music.
Awesome place we had a banquet here for the Fire Department. The staff was top notch from the valet guy to the bartenders. We had a great time venue was nice food was great. Our room was pretty sweet as well extremely comfortable bed, big walk in shower. Nice fitness center. Only thing missing is a pool.
This hotel has a great feel, with wonderful customer service, and the hotel was located so that I could walk to some great historical monuments and the theater district. The rooms were quiet, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The lobby and courtyard created a relaxing environment. I highly recommend.
I just want to commend the staff for their outstandingly responsive service. I stay at the Westin Buffalo often, and I always get good service, but this time exceeded all expectations. I had an emergency and needed a special dental floss. It was late at night. But one of the staff who was on call offered to take the shuttle and go out to the 24-hour drugstore to purchase the floss and bring it to me -- which he did. That same evening, another staff person retrieved something valuable that I had left in the exercise facility. The staff is always extremely pleasant and strives to be their best, but their actions during this particular stay deserved special mention. Thank you.
This review is based on our wedding reception at the Westin Buffalo:There are a lot of choices in the Buffalo area to have your wedding reception and we were one of the first couples to have our reception at the Westin Buffalo (June 2017). Since they have only been open since late 2016, we were a little worried that they would not have the kinks worked out before the big day. The hotel was still under construction when we went for our first tour. I think anyone who has seen it knows that this hotel and reception room turned out beautifully. We could not have asked for a better place to have our reception. The whole entire day went without any issues or problems. The service team and the setup was everything we had asked for and discussed prior to the big day. We were so thrilled with the entire reception from start to finish.Dianne, the wedding coordinator and director of events, was fabulous to work with. She has a wealth of experience as a wedding planner and delivered on absolutely everything that we discussed and agreed on prior to the wedding day. We did not experience any issues whatsoever and it was very comforting knowing that Dianne had everything taken care of. The room setup was just perfect and we did not have to worry about anything throughout the course of the event. We could not recommend Dianne more to someone looking to book their reception at the Westin Buffalo. Prior to our big day we were a little worried about how the service would be and food would turn out, only because we were one of the first weddings. After our event, we looked back and could not find a single thing that could have been done better. The lobby downstairs and courtyard where we had our cocktail hour was the perfect size. The moment you walk into the building you know that this is a first class hotel, and its a nice feeling knowing all of your guests were impressed from the get-go. Our guests raved about how beautiful the reception room was, as well as the food and drinks. The food was definitely a highlight of our event. The space overlooking Downtown Buffalo is really unique.I could write a separate review of how nice the hotel rooms are, because this is easily the top hotel in Buffalo at the moment. The rooms are gorgeous and extremely clean and new. We booked most of our rooms on the same floor as our reception, and not one person complained of noise or any other issues. The hallways are extremely wide for a hotel and I feel like that helps cut down on the noise. Our friends and family had a very pleasant stay. Its very convenient to be able to setup a room block at the Westin and also have a parking ramp available for your event. The SPG points and free suite are also great perks when booking your wedding at the Westin. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you again to Dianne and the Westin staff for the wedding of our dreams!
Our family came to Buffalo for a special occasion, and we all stayed at the Westin. We all loved the hotel. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable, and staff was always available. The restaurant was a great place for us to meet for a cocktail or coffee. We would definitely stay here again!
We had not been to Buffalo in 9 years and what an awesome treat to find the Westin in downtown Buffalo. The Hotel is newer, sleek, modern, and extremely clean. Our room was outstanding and the Staff was incredible, I wish I could have gotten all their names, but Madeline helped me at the front desk and she was awesome!I travel a great deal and this was one of our best experiences at a Hotel in any City.Thank you all and when we return to Buffalo, we will definitely be staying at the Westin.
Reservation manager promptly assisted me with an upgrade; friendly front desk staff check-in was efficient; request for additional chairs and plates for a small reception in our suite was looked after right away. One guest asked me if anyone had ever stayed in the hotel before - that is how clean it was - from hotel lobby, to elevators to common areas to rooms. Great location - close to downtown but only a few minutes to walk to restaurants and bars in the Allentown area.
I booked a room for New Years Eve early September, paid in full ahead of time. Didnt have the room we ordered/paid for ahead of time, when we arrived promptly at 3:00. How could that happen? But the staff was quick to bring us hair spray that my wife needed. They staff was friendly. The kitchen weird--absolutely equipped with nothing. Not a fork, plate, cup, etc. The bed was comfortable and ideal location. But left with a sour taste in my mouth because I didnt get the room I booked way in advance and paid for in full back in September.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westin Buffalo. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The location cant be beat easy walking to restaurants and points of interest and if you dont feel like walking they have a shuttle service. On a more personal level I had to pump breast milk during my stay and found that the mini fridge in the room was not cold enough to store it. When I went to the front desk to enquire if there was somewhere else to store it I was a little apprehensive because I have heard of people having issues at other places, but they were quick to offer up their freezer and every front desk person I delivered it to for storage was very professional and friendly. Overall staying at the Westin made our trip to Buffalo a fantastic one.
We arrived 7ish in the morning on freezing cold day and immediately early checked in with $10 room upgrade. The hotel is located with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The beds are also very comfy and bathroom is big with constant water providing. Plus, they give express shuttle if you need a ride to go somewhere near like bus terminal or pharmacy shops etc or other restaurants. I have stayed in 6 different rating hotels crossing 5 cities in US this vacation and Westin is really the one with good service we would like to re-visit. Again thanks for giving us a nice experience day.
Had the pleasure of staying 2 nights at the Westin Buffalo in June 2017. We booked an Executive Suite. The cleanliness and modern look of the room is what stood out most to me, along with easy check-in and a warm welcome. I have stayed in most of the downtown Buffalo hotels, and this one is easily the best of the bunch. I would recommend for a leisure stay or business travel. The noise level in the hotel is low and it was a very peaceful sleep for 2 nights. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice and also spotless. I look forward to staying here again in a few months for a wedding. I will not look to stay anywhere else in downtown Buffalo for future stays except the Westin.
The staff here was very accommodating and helpful, bar was great, did not eat but the food smelled great. Valet guys were great. I have e nothing but great things to say about my stay except I found the bed a bit too firm and the pillows a bit too soft. But who knows, some people may like that
We just had a wedding Memorial Day weekend. Many of our guest stayed at this property and they all raved about it! We had our farewell brunch in the Louis Room which was beautiful and delicious. The staff was very attentive and pleasant! Beautiful property in a great location!!
Disappointed. I usually love The Westin. It was my first stay at the Buffalo location on Jan. 25th 2019, room 223. There was a roach found in the bed. After 30 minutes of trying to reach someone at the desk through calling and going to front desk, a gentleman cleaning the 720 restaurant tried finding someone for me. Eventually, I was given another room which was nice but inconveniencing as I did not expect this lower quality of service from a Westin. The children with me fell asleep on the coach too scared to be in the bed. I had to wake them and haul our things to another room on the 3rd floor. This location also does not own its own parking lot or garage and the public garage costs $18 a night. I would not recommend The Westin in Buffalo. The shower was nice though.
Beautiful hotel. Couldnt use valet parking ( no room to pull into the little area) but the attached ramp garage was very convenient and a tad cheaper! Staff was very nice and helpful with a small glitch with our room. Room itself was very nice , roomy and the bathroom lovely. Everything very clean . My only complaint was the awful mattress. Amazing that such a thick mattress could be so uncomfortable. All and all a beautiful stay.
My wife and myself used our Starpoints for a weekend away to watch the Buffalo Bisons AAA (Toronto Blue Jays affiliate). The minute we checked in, all the staff were extremely friendly, thanking us for our SPG membership...upgraded to premium room!!Hotel was within a 20 minute walk to the ball park. Really enjoyed the architectural history of the buildings during our walks. We didn’t eat at the hotel, but we did visit the bar for a nightcap. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The BEST Westin we have stayed with during our weekend get aways...coming back for another visit. “Let’s go Buffalo”Cheers
Multiple minor inconviences kept this from being a great stay. It is a business oriented hotel so I would not recommend for family travel. Rooms are tight, limited space for storage, closet is an armroire. Bellman did not explain the features of the room ie bed, shower, safe, refrigerator, complimentary water etc...Rooms are quiet! No parking! No entry from the adjoining parking lot after midnight. It is in the theater an Club district. It has a beautiful lobby and the food in Patina , the fine food restaurant, is excellent. Jakes, the informal restaurant is not so good and it was unexpectedly closed.Hotel is not readily identifiable when driving down Delaware Ave... easy to drive by it.
Best hotel experience! Champagne upon arrival, a room upgrade, robot butler that delivered a birthday card offering complimentary dessert! Amazon Echo in the room was a great touch! The staff were spectacular and so kind. We will definitely be back. Our only critique would be the mobile pairing with the television was confusing and we didnt manage to get it to work. Maybe have Fire Stick or Chromecast? Either way this did not impact our positive experience.
This hotel was by far the best in Buffalo for many reasons.First the location was perfect, second everything is automated. They even have Alexa which made my wife so excited.Lastly, the receptionist Diane was so helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. If you have any question call Diane and she will help you.
What a nice hotel! It is just 3 blocks from Sheas Theater, a venue for all sorts of performing arts. It has valet parking, a handsome lobby, a coffee joint and a bar, and an expansive gym. Our room was a suite, and was quite open, roomy and quiet. We had a great stay, and will return here again the next time we are in Buffalo.
Stayed for our first anniversary. The Westin was beautiful and so nice to see something like this downtown.. check-in was 3pm, got there at 4pm. Apparently our room wasnt ready but we were told it was upgraded with a great view of the city. We waited nearly am hour.. finally got our key. Our room was nice but did not seem upgraded. And the view was of a parking lot. This is the only reason I didnt give 5 stars.
We stayed here for one night and it was fantastic. The staff were extremely friendly and the hotel itself was very clean and beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We brought our corgi with us and the hotel provided us with complimentary doggie amenities, including a dog bed, dog bowls, etc.We are extremely happy with this hotel and will be staying here next time we are in the city of Buffalo.
This review is based solely on the breakfast buffet for $18. It includes scrambled eggs, sausage, tater tots, pancakes, oatmeal and a salmon platter. Coffee, tea and juice are also included. There are pasties and toast. It is an excellent buffet. Everything is very good eventhou the selection is somewhat limited. I especially enjoyed the coffee, salmon platter and the real maple syrup. My one complaint is the coffee mugs are small and the server did not come often enough to refill them. My favorite breakfast buffet in Buffalo!
This hotel was great. They were very accommodating. Any issues or problems that we had were taken care of quickly. The night manager Zach was great. He personally came to our suite to show us things. He also took the time to talk to my son about his tournament and looked at his memorabilia. A great experience for our family.
Since I spend more than 100 nights away from home, I have seen the best and the worst of what service industry has to offer. This hotel has the potential to be one of the better hotels in Buffalo for sure. Especially, having well known Patina restaurant on the premises is a big plus. The staff is trained well enough to represent the SPG brand accordingly. I observed some minor stuff that I will not even bother to share here. I will be happy to talk to the hotel management on my next stay in January. There is one thing that must be fixed immediately. The air ventilation system that goes thru the junior suite bathrooms is extremely noisy and cant be turned off. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff that they said, unfortunately, they built the ventilation system in the hotel incorrectly where the junior suites located. I was told to try to close my bathroom door. (no comment there!) They were kindly offer me to change my room for sure, but I said that I will be ok. I just couldnt watch TV in the sitting area becasue of the noice in the bathroom. Actually, I was ok with it.I assume that those rooms are used for your loyal customers mostly and they should be awarded for their loyalty, not punished.I would like to hear that the management is aware of the issue and working on it vigorously. That being said, I encourage everyone to try this hotel at least once. Great location, good people, high level restaurant and a bar.See you in January.Best of Luck.Ender
Fabulous hotel thats been open about 2 yrs. As a platinum SPG/Marriott Rewards member, I was upgraded to a suite that was gorgeous and offered breakfast coupons or points at check-in. This property doesnt have an Executive Lounge. Tiffany behind the bar at Patina 250 made me feel welcome and was very accommodating. I only had breakfast at 250, but the egg white omelette was delicious.
The staff and hotel were marvelous. We were treated like our needs were priority one and the staff was so incredibly kind. The rooms and common areas of the hotel were extremely clean and welcoming. If you’re looking for a hotel to stay in where you feel both welcomed and at home, this one is it.
Absolutely wonderful, we’ve stayed here twice and it’s by far the best choice in Buffalo. The customer service is exceptional, especially Gabrielle at the front desk. She consistently goes above and beyond to make our stays incredible. Looking forward to staying here every visit to Buffalo!
Just an entire stay of WOW: great service, handsome property. By far, the nicest hotel gym I’ve ever experienced, and I generally pick hotels based on the fitness centre. Room was really spacious and beds are, of course, heavenly. Great staff and food was excellent. I’d highly recommend staying here. I’ll be back for sure.
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. We were coming from my sons wedding and we requested early check in in Feb. The room was not ready until 4:30 pm. We had guests waiting to get in our suite between the wedding and the reception. This was unacceptable. It created a stressful situation for my family. When we arrived in the suite, there wasnt even a garbage can in the kitchen. Not even one cup. There were 2 paper cups which I also requested extra coffee and there was only 2 pouches of coffee. Hopefully this is not a regular occurrence.
You know when you are offered a glass of sparkling wine at check in you are in for a nice stay. The Westin Buffalo is a modern gem in a perfect location to access great bars and restaurants. If something is just a little to far, fear not there is a shuttle service. The staff is fantastic and very quick to offer recommendations for dining and sightseeing. The room is comfortable and well equipped. I have never seen so many plugs for charging your electronics. Next time I am in Bufflao the Westin will be my number one choice of places to stay.
Beautiful hotel, great location. Rooms are way bigger than most, and the hallways are cavernous... I didnt even have to try to get around another guest getting into their room. Housekeeper I met morning of departure was incredibly nice, talked about local spots and best wings. Robotic concierge was a hoot to See running around
Easily the most accommodating hotel I have stayed at. I needed to get to a wedding upon arrival so they upgraded my room and got me checked in 2 hours early, which made my weekend much more stress free. The friendly staff also made sure my stay was perfect from start to finish after that. Location is great to get anywhere downtown and is also close (1 mile or less) to fun neighborhoods like Elmwood and Allentown. Room was comfortable and clean and fit the aesthetic of the recently built hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anybody and it would be my top choice for my next stay in Buffalo.
Stayed as a mid-week getaway for anniversary. Check-in tool an unacceptable amount of time (25 minutes) because attendant was new, and no idea what she was doing. This was at 3 p.m. on a Wednesday. Other attendant was busy with someone and couldnt help her. If shes training or new, have someone there to train her. She was thrown into the fire. Room was everything youd expect from Westin. We used Alexa to ask for some toiletries and after an hour, we gave up waiting and left. We were told theyd be right up. I dont imagine thats up to their service standards. Next morning we ordered coffee and pastry basket up to our room. We were not told how long it would be. Ended up being a half hour. Coffee was lukewarm. Not sure if it sat or ? Pastries were standard continental breakfast-type pastries. Nothing that should be taken 30 minutes to bring up. I know this seems like first world problems type of complaints, but you pay a premium and expect a certain standard with The Westin. The room itself was wonderful. Any time we had any interaction with service delivery however, it was definitely subpar. Especially for the Westin.
We selected the Westin from other hotel options in the area because it allowed dogs. From our welcome at the desk where we were offered doggie beds and bowls, to receiving warm smiles and dog treats from the staff, we felt comfortable having the dog with us and were provided a beautiful room. The valet parking worked well, and its staff was efficient and responsive. Finally, the PATINA restaurant where we enjoyed brunch was great - really good food and service.
I stayed three nights,Honestly, this hotel deserves 5 stars, the staff and the front desk were amazing very professional, special thanks to the manager Netaly, and others, location of the hotel is nice and near from most of the services, most of services are complete, the parking costs 18 dollars a day (self parking ), our overall experience is excellent. Some pictures . . .
Hotel is very well staffed. There are always people around the lobby to help in any way - just ask!I used a lobby table to work a couple mornings and they would actually bring me free water and make sure everything was working (excellent WiFi).Someone walks the lobby literally every 10 to 15 minutes to pick anything up or put furniture back in place. Saw a front desk employee on way to work stop pickup a paper that was left on a table 3 minutes prior and throw it out, despite having her arms full of stuff. When staff cares about things that are not their job good things happen. The new semi-outdoor area is a must to checkout - nice happy hour.Rooms are excellent - Very clean and spacious. Out of the numerous Westin, and other SPG hotels I have stayed at I would have to say that overall this is the best one.
Although due to a late check out glitch, our room was not ready at check in. However the manager was very apologetic and personally walked us over to the bar for a complimentary cocktail. Dinner at Patina was spectacular. The service was some of the best I have ever had in Buffalo.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay here for just one night. The hotel is beautiful, top to bottom and I love all of the extra little touches provided by the Westin, like providing you New Balance workout clothes for $5 if you forget yours, or the Amazon Alexas in the room. We will be back!
I reserved a Jr. Exec. Suite. This is accommodations with a kitchen. Upon arriving I found the kitchen to be stripped of dishes, glassware, utensils, & appliances. Was told this was because of the Covid pandemic. Had I been told this beforehand, I would have reserved a more standard accommodation. Was also told, via text, the restaurant, Patina 250 would be open from 5p. to 9p. Thanksgiving evening. Upon arrival, again, I was told the restaurant 250, and Jakes, would be closed for that evening, and the following morning. Let me point out that the staff on duty was excellent, providing a Thanksgiving meal that was truly lackluster. Very little that was on the menu was actually available. Not the service staffs fault, but poor planning by Westin hotel. Theres more, but to summarize, Ive stayed in wonderful Westins. This is not one of them. I will not use this facility for any further staycations.
We were there for a wedding. They had the ceremony outside in the tent, which was kept warm with plenty of firepits and space heaters. Reception was upstairs. Overall decor was very nice/ modern. Food was okay. My husband had the chicken dish, which was dry and bland. I had the filet, which in contrast, was perfectly cooked and delicious. We didnt have time to stay long during the reception so I cannot comment further about the service.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Westin Buffalo. We wanted to make a special mention to Diane at the front desk; she went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect. She called us a taxi the first night we were here (a Friday) and the taxi never showed. She then escorted us to the Westin shuttle that took us to our dinner spot. The shuttle driver, Kell, (who is head of concierge) was lovely and also informed us that he would pick us up as it is difficult to get a taxi here (no Ubers in Buffalo yet either). We were all around very impressed with all of your staff. We also LOVED your friendly room service robot!!! SO DAMN CUTE! That was also definitely a highlight 👍The room was lovely, and the hallways are large and have a luxurious feel. The gym was wonderful, too.So thank you, and keep up the good work. Well be seeing you again.
My husband and I were in town for a wedding. The Westin Buffalo was excellent in every way. The facilities were nice, the rooms clean, spacious, and comfortable. Most importantly, all of the staff members we came across were very friendly and were happy to help us with whatever we needed. The New Balance workout rental was amazing, as both of us forgot to pack sneakers and were able to rent a pair for $5. We got a big kick out of the butler robot too. Also an excellent bar in the lobby!
Beautiful hotel, convenient location, spacious and clean rooms, and spot-on bar service. My only criticisms however, on this occasion, would be in-room dining --- two of the three items ordered were incorrect [or either substituted] without note --- and customer service via the Marriott BONVOY app. While not a huge issue, knowing that I was to be arriving later in the evening [in inclement weather no less] I arranged for both electronic keyless check-in and an extra set of towels. No towels were in-room, and although the BONVOY app stated that it would notify me when my electronic key was ready, said notification never arrived, and the hotel could not be reached at their local number provided. Its of note to mention that front desk is GREAT, and while definitely not an issue that would prevent a return, it would be great to see these minute issues amended for the future.
The outside courtyard is a great place for a cocktail hour prior to any sort of event at the hotel. The small appetizers offered were all delicious. The ballroom itself was spacious, and comfortable. The Bar at Patina 250 offered craft cocktails that seemed just off last night. Prior visits have been better.
This place is a hidden gem that I never knew existed as an event option, so glad the future Mr. & Mrs. found it. Recently we had our daughter and now son-in-laws wedding reception at The Westin Buffalo, and it was truly phenomenal! The ceremony took place in the courtyard which comes with its own waterfall. A bar area, bistro tables and comfortable seating areas for after the ceremony were set up for the guests. The food was gourmet from the hors doevres to the main course. Dianne Pace (event planner) knows her job and does it very well, the wait staff were always there but never intrusive, and all very easy to work with. I highly recommend The Westin Buffalo as an event option, you will not be disappointed.
We attended a wedding in Buffalo and stayed at the Westin Hotel. Location was ideal, shuttle service was amazing and our hotel room was very clean, quiet, comfortable beds and lots of space. Exceptional experience due to a highly professional service oriented staff. Highly recommend this hotel, next time we go to Buffalo we will stay there again.
Im usually a great fan of the Westin, but my recent stay wasnt as pleasant as my first. I had some friends from out of town visiting, so Id thought why not book a room at one of the best new hotels downtown ? I was not able to arrive to the hotel until later in the evening, so I put a specific note for the hotel to allow my guests to check in when they arrived, but the front desk was giving them a hard time. Not only was that the case, I had booked a 2 queen bed room but they gave us a 1 king bed room and told us all of the other rooms were booked. Also, one of the toilets in our room wasnt working, but we ended up figuring out how to fix it ourselves. There were missing amenities such as their classic robes, and whatever was supposed to be by the bathtub. The walls are so thin, that you could hear the bass from your next door neighbor. For the price of what we were staying for, we expected better.
Knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly staff. Everything at this hotel was beyond my expectation. Stayed in a Junior Suite on the 5th floor. Room was massive. Well appointed and bathroom was superb. My only complaint would be the water pressure left a little to be desired.
The Buffalo Westin never disappoints. The staff are more than willing to assist with any task and go above and beyond. The rooms are extremely clean and spaceous. The in-room dining or Patina 250 dining room never disappoints. I recommend this location for business, family, romantic, and conference/meeting space to family, business associates, and friends.
I was in the Niagara Peninsula for work and decided to stay on the Buffalo-side to visit a family member who lives there. I had seen this hotel before, but had never stayed. I was SPG gold at the time (now Platinum), and like to try new hotels when they come up. Im glad I did for this one. While not a huge hotel, it had all the amenities that Id expect of a Westin. The staff were among the friendliest and most accommodating Ive ever met in all of my travels. Special acknowledgment goes to Austin who made check-in a breeze and Janet (housekeeping) who made me and my family feel very at home and welcome in their hotel. Great location close to many downtown restaurants/pubs. We will be back!
Stayed all over Buffalo, this is by far the best. Back for our second visit and just like the first they have taken great care of us the moment we arrived Kathryn at the front desk, as with our first visit has been beyond friendly and her service warrents a repeat visit in itself.I can say so long as a rooms available we will not stay anywhere else in Buffalo going forward.
I cannot say enough about the service received at the hotel- from booking to valet, front desk, etc. it was top notch. Jeremy made sure to call me when our suite was ready and actually followed though on that promise! We had two rooms for a stay and everyone talked about how perfect our experience was. Thank you!! I will recommend the Westin buffalo to any visitors!
Very nice brand new Hotel (opened 1 month ago) in Downtown Buffalo! Very Friendly & accommodating staff, nice workout area and quiet rooms. All the amenities you would require are available within the hotel & the surrounding areas. The hotel staff were excellent and very accommodating throughout our stay! Would definitely come back again :)
This is a very technological hotel, rooms are incredibly spacious, cleanliness is superb, supper high in safety, key system is very safe. The only negatives are parking, and restaurant if the would give proper portions for what you pay if would not be to bad but cost is high for quantity. The only other issue is if you have asthmatic allergies this is not the place for you.
We stayed in room 510 from April 1st to April 2nd. The hotel and room amenities are awesome. The issue arose at 1230 am when people were coming from the bars, The room next to ours was so loud we had to call security not once but twice and security was there at least three times. Not generally the hotels fault but the walls are very thin and whenever they flushed their toilet which was many many times. I could here them walking around and at one point they knocked on our wall several times. We got to sleep around 3am after they presumably passed out. Again not the hotels fault but wouldnt stay at Westin again.
This is BY FAR the best Westin I’ve ever stayed in and in BUFFALO of all places. I’ve stayed at probably 20 Westins in total, and this one blows all of them out of the water. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! It’s modern, clean, and bright. The restaurants are also fantastic. I enjoyed breakfast/brunch downstairs every morning. The rooms were SO nice. The service was also great. I could live in this hotel!
Did a weekend in Buffalo and decided to the try the new Westin Hotel. We were not disappointed. Well situated hotel that is close to several restaurants and to downtown Buffalo. Rooms were large, well appointed and very comfortable. From the time we pulled up to the valet parking to when we checked out, staff was super friendly and attentive.
This hotel itself was very nice, as was the staff, and Id certainly stay there again next time I visit Buffalo on business. I will say that the food at Patinas was OK, nothing special and certainly not worth the price. Had it been exceptionally good, then I wouldnt have thought twice about the cost. The ONLY thing Id say needs fixing in the hotel rooms is the rain-style shower head. Seems petty Im sure, but I have one at home that I love and that is definitely 10x better than this one was. The angle of the shower head determined what are of it that water would come out; it seemed more like a childs toy than something truly useful. I was grateful for the added side shower attachment, otherwise showering would have been quite annoying. At no point could I get the main shower head just right to allow water to come out from the entire unit, and speaking with friends and colleagues that were also staying there, they had the same issue with the shower head in their rooms as well. All in all theyve done a nice job with this new location, but as with any new establishment, theres definitely some tweaking that needs to be done.
It’s now time to review the food offered on the room service menu. Obviously, efforts have been made to reduce the cost of food (smaller portions and pre-cut ingredients) in recent months. However, guests may be better served if you change the menu for better offerings
First time being in Buffalo to celebtrate my hubby’s 50th birthday. The room was comfortable, staff are friendly (not only to us but also to our lil pup, Scrappy). Met Welbot although didn’t experience the service, took a picture with the (green) dog, enjoyed the rain shower, had dinner at Patina. We had a good time there although the tomahawk was slightly over cooked and we were quite surprised that it was served cut off from the bone and pan seared individually instead of what Tomahawk should be served (as a whole)! We will definitely come back and recommend to anyone who plan to visit Buffalo.
Stayed on New Years Eve for a wedding and when I left noticed I was charged for Valet Parking. I actually used self parking and have the pay stub to prove it. I contacted the Hotel right away and they said email the proof of payment for parking. The representative told me 3-5 days to process. I then called back 5 days later. Same thing representative didnt ask for proof just wanted to verify my credit card info and what room I was in. 5 days later still nothing. Finally sent an email to corporate and figured that would take care of this mess. Nope this is part of the email I received back after the first half of pre generated customer service. As a one-time gesture of goodwill, I am able to offer a refund of $30, please confirm the address on file and last 4 of the credit/debit card that was charged, so we can get this refund issued promptly. After responding and telling them that this wouldnt be considered a gesture of goodwill as I have proof that I paid for my own parking and I verified my information I still have not heard or seen anything on my credit card statement. I am absolutely shocked that a $30 charge is this difficult to have taken care of.
My family travels to Canada twice annually and the Westin Buffalo is our go-to rest spot. The hotel is new and clean with spacious rooms, a stylish lobby and an attentive staff. Our daughter is obsessed with Chip-the-robot whom the Westins caring staff always dispatches with a wink and a smile to deliver the toothbrush she mischievously claims to have forgot. I like Westins in general and this is probably my favorite because the hotel feels more boutique than corporate and the staff is genuinely warm. Keep up the good work.
Hotel staff very professional and polite. Suite room was spacious and very comfortable. Down stairs bar great drinks and munchie food menu . Dinner was awesome ! Chefs and staff to be Applauded !!! Breakfast so , so good ... great morning . Five Stars ... !! ... March 11/12 /2017 ..... Room 506
Air conditioner would not go below 74 then when we woke up it was 76 degrees. Another issue that we had that we weren’t able to pay cash for the stay. Worked in hospitality for a long time and that’s the first I’ve heard of that. Understand the incidentals charge but not the room when was going to pay cash. Pretty property but wouldn’t recommend to family in the area.
The rooms were incredibly spacious and the staff was courteous. We were in town overnight for a night out and it is perfectly located next to many night clubs and bars. The only complaint was our breakfast was terrible. We ordered in room service and my eggs were cooked wrong and the toast seemed stale. It was disappointing considering how nice everything else was.
Beautiful property and great downtown location. Hockey team was doing a late check-out and it disrupted everyone elses check-in, into the late evening. Would think they would have experience handling it but the staff seemed overwhelmed. I would give it another shot though.
We stayed at the Westin Buffalo for my daughters wedding in Buffalo. We had a block of rooms and the Bridal Suite. We are local (from the suburbs of Buffalo), and our guests (local & from out of town) told us that they loved the hotel itself, and how convenient the location was. Everything was great, staff was professional and attentive, room was beautiful, clean & comfortable.
This is a premier property with all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately you better hope that you have no issues because management is ineffective at civil discourse. I would still stay at this property because the rooms and restaurant are amazing but I hate dealing with their managers. Every visit with an issue gets my blood pressure up, so I choose not to engage and just accept the problems and less than stellar service.
We were in town for a wedding for the weekend and had a great experience at the Westin. The room was beautiful and clean, the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay special. We had dinner at Patina 250 and enjoyed great food and wonderful service. I would absolutely stay here again.
Everything! The staff was amazing! When I called to talk about making reservations Shannon and Precious were so helpfull and awesome and set everything up for me so nicely. This overnight stay was a Christmas present from my husband for some mommy time away from the kids. When I checked in and out the staff at the desk was so nice. The waiter was very nice too. Very professional and yet friendly. All the staff were just amazing. The hotel was so clean and new looking in the lobby and rooms. My favorite thing was...the bed! I loved The bed!!! The bed was fabulous! It was exactly what I was looking for, plush linen and lovely pillows!!! I set out to find a hotel with comfy plush linen and boy did I hit the jackpot! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. So fluffy and wonderful. The food was amazing too. Very tasty. A bit expensive by the time you paid for everything but very good. They had a robot who was super cute. He delivered me some items that I needed. So cool! They also had a very large smart tv that allowed me to watch my Hulu and netflix. There was a safe, fridge , 2 complimentary waters , coffe and tea. Not many complaints at all. Anything I mentioned to them, they made sure to fix it right away with a smile. I ordered a ton of food through room service. They forgot 2 food items when i ordered. Not a huge deal. The waiter was very apologetic and went back to get me the side dish of mushrooms that the person who took the order forgot to write in.He was super nice and apologized for it taking awhile to bring up. The other was the housemade fraiche for the cinnamon brioche. I didnt mention it but Im sure if I had he would have graciously went back and got it for me. The other complaints were very minor as well. Whoever cleaned the room had forgot to put bags in all the wastebaskets and also forgot to leave a robe . I called down for the robe and the super cool robot brought it up! Thats pretty much it and normally I wouldnt write any of this since It really didnt effect how I felt about the hotel, just thought Id be specific in case they are looking to make any improvements. Overall I had a great time! Thank you to all who made my stay absolutely amazing! I will definitely be back for more mommy time!! Haha. .
Nothing comes with your room. There is no free parking or breakfast. You even have to pay for internet. Bottles of water are planted in your room that are also not free. The place is beautiful but I’ve traveled to a lot of places and I’m sure there are hotels that are just as nice but cheaper and they won’t nickel and dime you for the basics.

2022-04-04Exceptional service! We had a unique parking situation and the front desk woman and the valet bent over backwards to help us. The entire staff was lovely, including the bartender at Patina. Our room was spacious, clean and with all the amenities. Our dogs loved the stay, especially the biscuits that the front desk gave them. The location is excellent, as it’s in the dining district. And the hotel itself, the lobby, Patina, the overall decor and rooms are beautiful. Thank you for an amazing stay! We will return.

2021-12-20I traveled to Buffalo for my long awaited wedding weekend. We booked the second largest suite (or second most expensive room in the hotel) for four nights. Upon arrival we had many, many bags and packages and there was zero help or assistance - we couldn’t even get someone to open the door for us let alone offer to help with bags. Check-in is at 3pm, and we were told our suite was not ready …we had my wedding gown with us, all of our goods for the wedding and suitcases for 2 weeks on the road …along with a rental we had to get back to and a rehearsal dinner starting at 5. Things happen and I am the first to understand that but what I will never get is a lack of care or customer service. They offered no solutions and barely an apology….after waiting 45 minutes I came back to the hotel and asked to speak to a manager. The manager assured me that the suite would be cleaned next and he would adjust our nightly rate - which he never did. Our room was finally ready and that was the end of it - a few apologies- no free room service, no adjusted rate, not even a bottle of wine…there were a million other things to stress about on your wedding weekend and your hotel should not be one of them - especially when you pay $2500 for 4 nights in Buffalo. The hotel was hardly busy and very quiet. I guess the hockey team staying there took priority though. All in, the rooms were clean and those who cleaned the rooms were lovely but the front desk and the manager all need a course on customer service. Also how is there not a tub in one of your biggest suites??! I would choose to stay next door at embassy next time - my guests stayed there and all had early check in, clean rooms and much better service.

2022-04-22Great room, really comfortable bed and that amazing shower/bathroom we’ve all come to expect from Westin locations. What really stood out to me was the gym though. That was a proper gym!! Better than any planet fitness I’ve ever been to and put pretty much every other hotel gym I’ve been to, to shame. Really great and 5 stars all around!!HOWEVER……. I did have to wait almost 2 hours for my room though, could be that the company messed something up when they booked it, but either way, that is holding me back from 5 stars.

2022-02-24Enjoyed the hotel, pleasant staff and clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable as expected from a Westin. Nice restaurant and decent coffee shop. Workout room was large and not crowded. Would stay again.

2022-03-08Would be very nice if the public areas had breathable air. Smells like my nose is shoved in someone’s chemical deodorant armpit everywhere while being on slaughter with depression pop music everywhere. What is wrong with calm and clean air? Hard to trust or respect a company that ignores the heath consequences from the chemicals they pump in public areas for the marketing of their soaps. No pool or hottub for such a high end property looks like they are being cheap for the guests to line the pockets of stock holders and upper management bonuses.

2022-06-22Nice inside more of an outdoors feel in a way with wooden features on each floor. The banquet/meeting rooms on the second floor were very pretty and bigger than expected

2022-06-28Im very dissapointex with my stay at Westin Buffalo. The facilities are beautiful and the staff is nice but last night I found a bed bug in the sheets. I called the front desk and was given the option to change rooms. Honestly I was too grossed out to even get in bed. Next room had the pillow case dirty. I dont expect perfection but when it comes to hotels I do expect clealiness. My advice to everyone is to fully inspect your bed before you lay in it.

2022-03-10It was nice having Alexa in the room, but when I asked to play the news, she was programmed to only play Fox news. Looks like they clearly take a very strong political side which your money will support.
