I like that its closer to home, and I dont hAve to patronize high price corner stores.... but because its small stocking the shelves is limited .. so some items that are on sell this store will run out quickly. Other than that very clean, managers are kind, most cashiers are quick and friendly.
Rarely a good selection of fresh organic vegetables, none in frozen section. Have never found organic fruit (unless you count grape tomatoes). Hard to find anyone to help find items. Very friendly cashiers, but they always have trouble with at least one item or coupon or payment method because they dont know the code or put the wrong thing in and dont know how to remove it. Maybe theyre used to only their regular local customers? I only go there about once a month or so when i have an appointment nearby; still feel like an outsider even after a year.Usually cant find something i need (because they just dont carry it?) However sometimes they surprise me with something, like better nondairy yogurt than wegmans has.
If this is for Maple/Transit store...my experience is and has been DAILY since i work for a family nearby providing homecare for their loved one. Wasnt immediate that i noticed the bad attitudes of many of the employees. Of course not everyone is in the most awesome of moods at their jobs everyday. I am not either. But then quickly i summed up the cranky/rude/downright nasty ones...hence the reason i avoided them and changed to self checking only.One particular day this deli worker ignored me as i was seen and the employee walked away. Hmmm...well i said excuse me...and still no response. So i was flipping. I had to go to the desk and turn in lotto tickets for my patient and the girl there qas talk about an emplpyee to the assistan manager. So i spoke up and said yes there are some really nasty, non helpful employees here and in the depts where Id encountered them. The asst mgr. named each of them to me and i said if you know this why dont they get reprimanded? She said....its the union...they wont fire anyone and they dont have to be nice to customers. REALLY....HOW UNNACCEPTABLE. !!!!!!! She agreed amd.apologized. i said I have to come onto this store every day and sometimes 2-3 times a day. I hate shopping as it is and then to have to deal with such a reality ruins my day. I came close to quitting the job as i shdnt have to deal with such people and that often. So i continued to ahop as quikly as i cd and get out of there. But in the beginning id greet the cashier or other employee in the various areas and after 3 xs i totally gave up.Even the pharmacy...no one says ill be right with you or even aclnowledge me at the counter. Wheres the dam bell that used to be available ages ago to get their dam attemtion??? Soooooo...after a time i went in and one of the most snooty ones said goodmorning as i walked by them in the aisle. Then another and another were pleasant....hmmm...could only be God at that point making them be pleasant. Ya know...i say train some mentally handicapped individuals to do their jobs and i guarantee every customer will be happy and look forward to patronize this establishment. I have worked with the mentally handicapped and ill tell ya...Id rather have them work for me if i owned a business as they are hardworking, loving, kind and only want the same in return. Now lets trun this around and think of WHO is actually the mentally handicapped....???
Every time I go shopping at your place you dont have open registers.Today you had one open.A week ago I went there early in the morning ,you had open the self check out only.Obviously I used them ,but it took long time bc I had to get the products code,etc..The manager that morning was very ride to me because I didnt know how to do it properly.Please,try to provide a better service.
I went to this Tops today. My WIC card accepts the 4.23 oz juice 🧃 packaging box. But the problem is the unfriendly cashier said it does not accept. I have to pay while I’m out of pocket. And so I have to discard this necessity juice. Something wrong with this Tops system. How can I solve my dried tasteless tongue while I’m pregnant? I need juice! I can’t live without juice! Dang! I have to drink water or milk instead. Smh.
They didnt have a lot of the items that are on sale in their circular. Also, we used the self serve registers and the woman who was overlooking those registers was very nasty, mumbling under her breath, snapped at us and then when SHE made a mistake, she got nasty with me because I wanted her to correct it.
If I could give less then half a star in would this place is beyond terrible! Poorly staffed and managed ! Terrible terrible! Had an employee tell me she was closed and then 10 sec later she was open leaving me stuck waiting in line for 20 mins to buy 2 gallons of milk. Then the cashier I had just was nasty and rude didnt even ask for my points card had to be like hello handing you this to get my points never shopping at tops again!
They have absolutely no selection of anything. The produce is rotten half of the time. They cant honor many sales that other tops do because they dont even have the product on the shelf. If youre looking for ethnic ingredients, this place has nothing. 4 plantains and 2 packets of sazon. Please keep up with the times. Cheektowaga has other ethnicities besides polish.
The smallest Tops You will ever go to. They are not friendly here. Everyone that works here looks miserable. Every time I come here they make my day down and they don’t give change, not even for a five this is literally the saddest tops. This is the closest TOPS to me and I go out of my way to go to another Tops.
Worst of the worst tops deli department is horrid some of the nastiest dirty filthy mouthed workers always complaining about her personal life loudly to everyone who will listen Definatly do NOT go there EVER unless they get rid of this and many other rudest employees
Most of the employees make this store an unpleasant experience. The guy who is usually at self checkout is such a douche. He wont even look at you when you ask a question or need help. There are a couple employees who are friendly and attentive but majority seem miserable.The store itself is alright. Prices are similar to Safeway, Albertsons, and Fred Meyer.

2022-02-20I do not go to Tops that often in general, but when I do, it seems like they are always out of the ink to print my receipt properly. Yes, I am that person who looks at the receipt after the purchase, but it is impossible with Tops receipts. What is the point of printing them at all? I would like an email version of the receipt if it is too expensive to buy ink.

2022-01-13Customer service closes early all the time which is ridiculous seeing that Ive never seen a customer service desk closed at any other tops or any store for that matter at noon. Especially when you need it, it is very frustrating. If you dont have to go here... DONT! Any wegmans or any other tops would be way more preferable.

2021-08-28Not sure what was up with the night cashier at self checkout but he looked like he hated his job and was nodding off. It was really hard to get assistance, multiple people were asking him for help and he was just kind of a zombie. Im not sure if he was just tired or what was going on but that was not a good experience when there is no other staff to be found. He seemed annoyed that anyone was asking him for help and I watched a few people walk out without bags just because they didnt want to deal with asking him for a bag. Please have more friendly staff or if the staff need a break have someoneelse available-- this was uncomfortable to watch . It may not even be his fault due to staffing issues

2021-06-09Since returning from abroad, I have had many disappointing experiences at a few Buffalo-area Tops locations. As a child and young adult I recalled many of visits to be second to none if not on par with perineal competitors such as Wegmans, however in recent years, Top Friendly Markets consistently has lagged behind by way of price, cleanliness, quality, selection, customer service when matched against local, national and international chains that have entered the Western New York market within the past decade.My frustration with Tops started when first returned to the area May of 2015. I wanted to return bottles and cans for their deposit at the Tops Main and Union location. I had various redeemable container purchased at different supermarkets throughout the area.I inserted various bottles and cans into the machines which were purchased at several non-Tops stores such as Wegmans. All the cans were accepted and credited with the acceptation of a few others - the containers that were once filled with drinks I had purchased at another Tops locations the other side ofLast year, I was shopping for bananas the Tops Maple and Transit location. After I inserted my phone into the front pocket of my shorts, the mobile phone fell to the floor. As I was about to pick up the phone I noticed a working heading in the path where the phone fell a few feet away. The worker, wearing black shirt with a red collar, was dangerously close, so instead instead of reaching down to pick up my phone I told the worker I dropped my phone and watch out. Oblivious to my commands, the worker ran over my phone with the cart, causing two of the four wheels of the cart to knock the flimsy cover of the phone and and cause damage to the screen and stylus. Judging by the colors of the employees shirt I was certain it was a Tops employee who had damaged my phone.I called Tops customer service explain what had happened but they insisted that they reviewed video of the incident and insisted that it was not a Tops Employee they view in the incident, but a Coca Cola vender and they were not responsible. I had no idea how it would be possible that representative of Cola Cola would be pushing a cart carrying produce into the produce department. She along with other representatives told that a representative of Coca Colas insurance provider would be in touch with me and warned that I could that I could be responsible for committing fraud.When I got in touch with Coca Colas insurance representative I was stunned how unprofessional she was. I assumed she had access to the very same video the Tops employees had allegedly viewed and insisted she view it. Check the video, I said. She then replied yeah, Ill check the video, with a hint of sarcasm.I said it may not have been a Coca Cola employee because the person maneuvering the cart was wearing a shirt like most Tops employees commonly wear. I then asked what she saw in the video. After asking. She then revealed to me that there was no video and the call ended abruptly thereafter.Following the call, I continued to call Tops costumer service to inform them what happened , insisting it was Tops and not the Coca Cola Company that was respnible for the damage of my mobile phone. To this day, I was compesated by Tops with not even a ten-doller gift certificate. Its really a shame how petty Tops has become.

2021-11-17Avoid this location the employees are only there for a paycheck! Horrible customer service skills, seriously. I wont even stop in to use the bathroom.

2019-10-12Thought this would be a good place to stop at before work but doesnt open until 6am. One of my coworkers starts working at 7 am, stopped there for a couple of things, and just as she was approaching the register the cashier walked away to make a phone call. Didnt care that there was people standing in line. Self checkout wasnt open either. Produce was well stocked and fresh. Guy in meat had a major attitude.

2018-12-04Not the most updated Tops. There is one tiny entrance/exit. It doesnt have a lot of the items that the bigger Tops stores have but they have the essential items. There are associates available if you need anything and they are nice (at least the one that I spoke with) The deli is very slow. When I went there was one employee working.

2015-12-25This my local store as its only 3 minutes away from my house, it might be small compared to the other locations but its HUGE with its wonderful, warm welcoming and friendly staff. 😀 Theyre always so nice, kind and attentive! Theres this 1 manager of the store in particular by the name of Bob, I call him Bob on his Job and he always makes sure his store is on the ball and if theyre out of stock on an item or plain just doesnt carry an item, HE WILL GET IT IN THERE FOR YOU, he assures his customers great satisfaction and makes you always want to return again for your grocery wants and needs! I hope they have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Years! Keep up the great work guys!
