It was our first experience at Trackside and will be our last.The rolls, greens and salad were good but the entrees were not. The blackened salmon wasnt blackened but was just ok. The Pork Osso Buco should be served almost falling off the bone but it was under cooked and the sauce it was served with was not good. It was supposed to be served with a vegetable but both plates had none. The last entree was Seafood Fruit De Mar which was supposed to be served with a spicy marinara sauce but was served with the same sauce that came with the Osso Buco.

Spectacular! Everything from the meal to the service was fantastic. The wait staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. The meal was absolutely delicious. Will certainly be back again! Our party ordered the seafood française, NY strip and the filet tornados all absolutely delicious! Even your basic aspects like the bread and salad were a delight and in between a lemon sorbet palette cleanser.
Trackside deserves 6 stars. Food is delicious and plenty of food. You will take half of the food home. Do not pass up the homemade chips. Wait staff is friendly, quick service. The surrounding are the train with old world charm.
My 18 year old son had pleasure of working there. Unfortunately the pleasure was leaving. He experienced verbal abuse and witnessed boss pick up shrimp off the ground. Yum.
Incredible lunch! I had the special. Crispy fried breast of chicken w/ a tomato salad on top a bed off greens! Oh my Gosh! I died & went to heaven! And my friend had the Treasure salad that she dreams about in her sleep! She goes just for the salad! It did look incredible! The service was top notch. Our waitress was a sweet young girl! She was ontop of her game! Great service! Amazing food! But I love the atmosphere. There at Uticas Train Station. The restaurants rooms are beautiful! With tons of character! I cannot wait to go again!!

I have never had a bad meal or service from them. Amazing food (literally everything is great), enthusiastic staff who actually do seem happy to work there (unusual in Utica), and a peaceful, classy ambiance in the chaos of the train station. Lifetime customer of theirs indefinitely.
Been to Trackside several times and always enjoyed the food and the prices so decided to have a wedding rehearsal dinner there. Everyone raved about the food and the friendliness of the servers. One persons comment was, I considered myself a food critic and can always find something I dont like, but not here tonight. Cheryl was very easy to work with.
I will profess that I am a pharmaceutical rep. I use Trackside for catering. These guys are awesome. Keep within my budget with lots of variety and very good food. They will work with dietary concerns. They deliver. Trackside is my go to!!! No one has ever complained when Ive provided them. Bottom line, thats a hit in any mans league
Got a wonderful Rachel Reuben with turkey that was massive enough for two people to eat. The homemade chips also made the experience even more delightful. Great lunch option for sit down or take out in downtown Utica. Prices were quite reasonable too.

Came to Utica from Amsterdam to pick someone up from the train station. Decided to stop at the Trackside Restaurant for some quick lunch. Beautiful set up, delicious food, and not nearly as expensive as its appearance leads you to believe. Cheaper than a Ruby Tuesday but with better food than any chain restaurant. Our server was Ashley and she was a delight. If you are at Union station and have time to eat its and easy decision, Trackside all the way.
I was visiting Utica from Virginia with my grandparents and when it came time for dinner, I looked up the highest rated restaurant as they are somewhat picky eaters. We showed up to Trackside and were slightly hesitant as it wasnt busy and the ambiance was a bit strange.I am beyond glad we decided that we were too hungry to try some place else. I frequently think about our dinner experience there and will be back to Utica if not to just have their side salad again. It is definitely an entire experience. The waitress was absolutely lovely and knowledgeable about each dish and what wines would pair well. The food was incredibly fresh and the portions were large enough to take some home to enjoy again the next day (and maybe the day after that). I can not give Trackside more praise. This is a hidden gem in Utica.

A best kept secret in the Utica, NY train station is the Trackside Restaurant. Nice ambiance in a section of the station but its the food that will bring you back. Starting with the best salad youll ever had, every entree appears to be prepared from scratch when you order it. Try the Chicken Riggies, but everything is great.
If I could rate this zero stars I would. Website says they are open. Walked in with a few people and as we approached a bar area we were stopped and told bars closed. When asked why we were rudely told there’s too many people the place is closed and proceeds to escort us to the door. Absolutely rude! We weren’t even asked if we were there for dinner! I would never ever come here again!

2022-06-17Went with three others for dinner. Waitress came over to take our order. At the time it was our group of 4 and a table of 8 in the restaurant Two of us ordered chicken riggies and two ordered chicken Parm. We also ordered Utica greens for our appetizer. The food was fantastic with the stuffed long hots that came with the chicken Parm special was the best. The only issue we had was the wait time. From start to finish, 3 1/2 + hours with long wait times between appetizer, salad and main meal. Wait times and prices would probably keep us from going back on a regular basis. The long span between appetizer, salad and main meal and getting our check took away from the excellent taste of the food. Great place if you have three to four hours to spend for dinner.

2022-06-11Im reviewing this establishment as a former employee & you could say customer since I Aldo enjoyed a meal courtesy of Rich & Cheryl; Owners. I spent alot of late nites in this kitchen contributing to what came to be successful bridal showers, weddings, occasional live music acts as well as ringing in the New Years Holiday. I can honestly say Ive never came across a chef like Richard and Ive worked in numerous restaurants all over CNY - Capital Region, keep in mind he, his wife Cheryl & their two grown up children not only own the what is? That makes up Trackside Restaurant & Banquets, they devote their days to running the establishment as well along with a handful of dedicated employees. But what Im trying to get at is, most places••Ive encountered, you wouldnt dare catch the owner getting their hands dirty , and definitely not taking the garbage out. If it was a really busy weekend night that was doubled with a wedding reception for 120 ppl, naturally all sides Of the House would be slammed. Thus guy would jump rite in the Dish Pit so to speak and just do what needed to be done and not cry or whine about it. If a skillet seared Salmon or Bacon Wrapped Filet somehow came out wrong or customer was dissatisfied, Rich would rather throw it away and make a whole new fresh one just to make sure it was proper and they were happy with it. Now I can tell you something, many restaurants would not toss a $30 entree in the trash to just make another, matter of fact Ive witnessed meals hit the floor and be pickup and repositioned on the platter with a garnish then ring, ding orders up! I sh** you not. Well you dont find that Trackside Restaurant & Banquets, not with the amount of energy and heart they pour into it. So support local business and your appetite for a delicious meal, give em a call today;Dinner Thursday -sat;Lunch Monday - Friday

2021-11-10Just had my daughters baby shower at Trackside, they could not have been more accommodating. The service was excellent, the food phenomenal and they let us decorate as much as we wanted. They boxed up the left over food and cake. Amber was the best, I cant say enough about her. Definitely would recommend this place for a party. Everything went as hoped, thanks to their professional and top notch service. Thank you again Trackside!

2021-06-13Yesterday we had my sisters baby shower at Trackside & it was absolutely perfect! Amber took such good care of us up until the event & the day of. We made special accommodations when we requested things of her based on our needs & definitely went above & beyond to be we had a great experience.The food was fantastic & we recieved many compliments on the venue.We will definitely be having another event there when the time comes.Thank you Trackside & Amber!

2021-06-02I went in today before my train was due to leave to order food to go, something I have done numerous times. I went into the now closed bar area to place my order and was sitting on a stool, again the usual routine. A short and rather stocky waitress came out and insisted that I could not be in there, they did not serve in there, and that I had to wait to be seated out in the dining area. The server never even bothered to ask what I was ordering or if it was a to go order, just wrongfully assumed That I had no clue what I was doing Normally I get wonderful service in there - I will not stop in again if this rude and assuming individual is there.
