Weis Markets in other cities:
While in town visiting family for holiday of course had to pick up last minute items. I find it fun to compare stores against other stores within same franchise. What should all be run so uniformly you will find sadly starkly different at every one under the same name.(I love being a professional trainer lol)Anyways,Upon my visit the store it was inviting, clean and pretty full of product surprisingly. Very few items were out. Stark difference to stores in my area of vestal NY. Finishing thru they had plenty of staff on hand. Even some working on self checkouts to help customers. I was quite impressed. Management has their team working together at this store.
There are never enough skooters for those that are imobilozed. I love the store but cant walk with a standard shopping cart . Last time I shopped here I had to deal with an unruly cashier named Kera. She was one of my neighbors xs and decided to make my cash out experience a life of hell. She refused for me to have the phone cards until I paid for all my groceries. No cashier has ever done that. Then started whispering about me to another cashier with hate in her eyes. I felt very uncomfortable and discriminated against. I barely know the women at all. I have never felt so unwelcome as I did then. Sorry weis you lost a long time customer because of your employees.
What can one say its a really good grocery store, the wings are an excellent on the go food.Downside this is in a bad section of town a man tried to steal my wifes shoulder bag while riding on a bike in parking lot, he was later caught. Just be careful, its a decent grocery store.
Absolutely love Weis and the staff...Everyones so friendly and helpful..Whenever I need help or have questions employees are right there to do their best to help... I love the deals buy 3 get it for lower price... thank you for a great staff and store have and will continue to refer people to Weis...
I like Weis Market. The have the best store brand Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream. Made with Red Maraschino type cherries. Prices are alittle cheaper then Tops. A lot cheaper then Wegmans. And unlike Aldis(which I also like) Weis has the selection of a grocery store, while Aldis is lacking that. So I totally recommend shopping there. They also have a Pharmacy in store.Edit: Inflation is a bummer. I dont think there is an item in the store that hasnt increased by at least 10 cents. A lot has increased way more than that.
Though the exterior looks like a blast from the past, the inside is vibrant and attractive. I took 2 of my kids in and it was like an adventure walking around the store, admiring how things were displayed and discovering unfamiliar products that were strategically placed throughout the building. It was clean, people were friendly, the prices were fair, and one thing I particularly liked was the priority they gave to promoting natural and organic foods.
4/5 because this store needs some serious renovation. I dont know who runs this store but you should hand them a new budget to do some asthetic work. Besides that this is a great store. I especially love the salad bar. I cant find anything like it anywhere within 20miles. Great prices and very friendly staff.
Grocery shopping. Employees were polite and nice. Had a question about their member card because they have a lot of member pricing and got a card in less than 2 minutes. Checkout was appropriate and had enough registers open. They also had self check out. Also got a few deals on produce which is always a plus.
First time there. After registering on line and getting a Weis card, I checked out some of the deals available. Pretty good Stouffers 96 oz Lasagna for only $0.99!!! Great deal!!! Found a few other deals for OnCor frozen entrees for only $2.50!!! It looks like they will have some very good weekly deals and I hope to become more familiar with what the store has to offer!!!
I love this community grocery store. Their selections are better than Wegmans or Walmart in my book. More variety of brands than those two as well. Prices are fair and comparable. Its been updated since I began going there on the 90s. Much cleaner and more modern. Their store brands are very good as well. Best, freshest salad bar around...tons of variety. And their store brand soups from the deli are amazing!!!
Do not care for this store at all since they put in the auto checkers. There will be one cashier open and three other employees just STANDING AROUND talking by the self checkouts making sure no one steals something I guess and if the self checkout say wait for assistance you cant get the three employees to notice YOU NEED ASSISTANCE. Only run in this store if you need one or two items tops! Otherwise take your grocery list elsewhere.
The way they set up the store doesnt make sense. Maybe Im just used to Wegmans, but the set up should be changed. The cleaning supply aisle is in between the frozen foods and candy aisle or something weird like that. Also, their produce consistently disappoints. I really feel like I waste 5-10 minutes extra here just trying to locate some standard things like bread.
Weis is neat and tidy. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices on lots of things are kind of high. Not for your everyday grocery shopping. Also, their self check software is not streamlined the software differs from Walmarts easy in and out system. Payment types must be used separately.(Ebt,cash, credit)
They use to have prices lower than Wegmans but not the case, Tropicana OJ 60 cents cheaper, Fire burning logs 5.00 cheaper. One manager was courteous to match the price of the OJ but another man tonight stated I had to prove it. I asked if he would call them because it was there everyday price he said no. They also make you feel very uncomfortable trying to rush you out if you walk in there prior to closing.
Cashiers get written up for everything. Numerous cashiers stick their hands in one persons register and if the register is off, the original cashier gets in trouble, even though its not be their fault. They get written up. Drink anything but water, get written up. Dont walk around to each customer to look at the bottom of their kart, get written up. Need to keep your drawer organized but at the same time anytime you have to wait in aisle for new customers. Its like an oxymoron...you get written up either way. They have a high turnover rate and you can see why. They hire 5 new cashiers for one cashier that left. This leaves all hours of that one person split 5 ways. Sometimes workers only get like 3 hours a week. They do not work well with other employment hours but yet give each person crappy hours. All of this makes team members untrained, unpleasant about their job, and it shows to all the customers. From a customers standpoint: Its just another ghetto grocery store. They seriously dont mop the floors...as you will get written up for not doing your other stuff.
Ive been shopping here since I was a little kid and over the past 2 years theyve really stepped there game up to compete with the big box locations...ive been a regular shopper most my life and will continue to be..recommendations vary amongst what you are looking for so take me being a regular how ever you may...certainly stop in and judge for yourself...hope this helps
For name brand items, this place is okay. There doesnt appear to be a price advantage over similar places. Generics can be a gamble. Some good and some downright awful. This is personal taste, but their generic cola is probably the worst Ive ever had. Lots of brands that Ive only seen there, and those too are a gamble. Good enough when you dont want to drive to Walmart or Wegmans. When in doubt, go with a name brand unless its something youve tried or dont mind taking a gamble on.
Never again will i buy pizza from there the last 3 months had nothing but problems its either burnt or a sheet pizza made a large or get told no dough and no more boxes i complain over and over again they cant do nothing about and its one certain employee that does this but its ok ill go somewhere else to get my pizza weis deli just lost my business
Something humble about Weis, compared to the other supermarkets. I find their Latino food selection is good/ affordable, and you can find good deals on cereal and meats sometimes. Wish they sold Malta India, like in other cities...12/19 Update: The Grocery Gods have spoken and they said, Let there be Malta (India)! Not sure if its my good luck, or someones listening, but Id encourage all Boriquas out there to show their love and buy a 6-pack...
The visit was horrible the cheese is bigger than the bread and the maker didnt ask my boyfriend if he wanted cheese and when he asked for cheese it seemed to be a problem!!! She acted like we were an inconvenience because it was 830 am and we were interuoting her job!!! Isnt that part of her job???

2022-02-19This place is surprisingly nice. When I was a kid I always thought it was a bit ratty and dirty. The place youd go to if you were hard on cash and couldnt go to Wegmans. It has fully become its own place. Staff keeps it clean and well maintained. The bakery is like a small town wonky factory and its all cheap too. I bought the jumbo donuts and they stayed moist in the box from Monday to Saturday when we ate the last one. They have all classic snacks and foods to make it a quick stop for a cheap meal and a robust produce section with some surprisingly good deals. Being in walking distance of a lot of residents makes it popular and it shows theyve been investing in the right places.

2022-02-20Ive been going their since the 1st day they opened! Go early in the day! Otherwise count on waiting in line Bring a book with you. Good prices, but their steaks are not the quality of Wegmans. Friendly and helpful staff!

2022-02-04Cashier needs re training on how to provide good customer service. Elderly woman was left to bag her own groceries and was rushed to do so. Store has a great selection and the updates and freshness of items are alot better than before.

2022-06-29Decent prices, compared to Walmart its more expensive. Not quite as large of a selection as Walmart or Wegmans either but does offer more local items then Walmart.

2022-02-09I have a hit or miss relationship with Weis. Sometimes I have a nice time and get some groceries I cant get anywhere else. Others I have staff being very rude to me when I ask for help, or I cant find anything on my list. Weis is not a place I can get my groceries because they dont carry many regular items but they do have a few items I cant get at other stores. I dont like dealing with the staff and they never have paper bags to purchase. Overall its a meh

2022-03-17Customer Service was excellent! I came in for a Western Union and the operator has it done in less than 5 minutes. I had been to 3 locations previously and either the Western Union was broken, or the employees had no idea how to send money.

2022-04-15Nice store. Not where I get the majority of groceries, but this store carries a couple items not available elsewhere. Staff is very nice, store is always clean.
