I like this place. They have spray tanning and uv tanning. Its always a wait after work though. Sometimes up to 15 minutes while the girl shows people around or checks them out. Should be 2 girls there in the afternoon. Give yourself a little time if you go between 4-6. Always clean and the girl is super nice!
I seldom go online just to post a negative review! However I am beyond irritated with Zoom Tan. I am completely disgusted with them as a whole! Last night I stopped at the Elmira location. The girl behind the counter talked with me about a lotion that was one sale. It was sitting on the counter with a hand written sign that read 19.99. I asked some questions and she told me how it was her favorite. It was better than the one I was using I was told. We talked about it for several minutes....right down to smelling it and assuring me that the smell didnt have a nasty after smell like some lotions. After reminding me it was the last available bottle at the price of 19.99 she sold me. I told her I would take it. When she went to ring me up....I was told that she was sorry...it was no longer on sale. She then removed the sign. I was flabbergasted. I asked if she could call someone and explain that she just convinced me to buy a product and it was ringing up a different price than I was told. She then made a call to the corporate office. It was a very short conversation. She hung up and told me again that she was sorry. There was nothing she could do. I proceeded into the tanning area to tan. When I came out I told her that I was going to call myself, and she handed me the bottle so that I could take a picture of it. (I wanted to make sure I told them the correct lotion)I called the corporate number and spoke with the night manager named Lisa. She was far from friendly and basically said what ever. The only thing that she could do was to call the store and tell them that it was no longer on sale!No attempt to offer an apology or anything. She was cold and made sure that I felt like I was wasting her time.It bothered me all night long. I know that mistakes are made. We are all human...HOWEVER.....when a store has a sale sign up....the employee tells you how wonderful it is and talks you into buying it...and then says oh wait we are gonna take it off sale now....who does that??? There are so many things wrong with this situation.To top it all off...I went to the Zoom Tan Corporate Facebook page. It would not let me send or post a comment. I really wanted to talk to someone other than Lisa! I left a comment on a picture that they posted showing a lotion sale. I wrote what had happened to me. Not one single person contacted me! They deleted my post and blocked me so I can no longer comment. (I know this because I went onto my work page and was allowed to comment)I have been in customer service for years! I read all comment to all of the stores that my company has...I could NEVER imagine acting in such an unprofessional way. I would have at least expected an email back!I came to Zoom Tan because they bought out Tanning Bed and my account transferred over. I have learned that Zoom Tan is not the kind of company that I want to support. Once my package is over I will find a new place. I also will make sure that everyone knows how awful of a business this place is.For the record.... I know that the girl at the store did not purposely try to falsely sell me something. I understand that mistakes happen. Regardless of that mistake...a business needs to be able to make their mistake right.
I was nervous about doing this bcs I was getting married 🙄want in for a clear spray tan and a day later all blotchy. Went down next day I found out stand up was broke . So they gave me a free one and I went number 1 bronze got home and my feet were orange and my legs were white had nothing . I got married sun day and couldnt wear the dress I wanted and had to wear a long one . I will never do it again .thank you
I am very disappointed by zoom Tans unprofessional business practice of advertising one price then after a customer purchases the package AS ADVERTISED Zoom Tan charges additional charges not advertised a month later in order to use the service that was already purchased. There is NOTHING in writing that stated i will be charged a monthly tax in addition to the package price I paid. A month later I was told I couldnt tan unless I paid another fee called a tax. When I called customer service I was told the tax isnt on the advertisement of the package price of 199.00 a year for a combo of us and soraya trans because it isnt fair to tax the soraya tan portion and they (zoom tan) has to pay a tax for uv! So... surprise a mo thly charge is added when I use the uv portion EVERY month. SNEAKY
I love zoomtan and wouldve given a 5 star review but the location is horrible. Its in a not so nice area. And the location is not convenient for anyone in Elmira Heights or Horseheads area. My account was transferred to zoomtan when they bought out tanning bed which is fine because Tanning Bed was horrible but their location was perfect. It was in between all areas. Please move zoomtan or open another location in Horseheads.

2021-12-08Good hours. Helpful staff. Wide selection of products all though I wish they carried more brands. DS makes me break out unfortunately. Clean rooms and are good size with mirror. The one girl is really nice and helpful. Ty

2021-12-01Just switched back here, after using a alternative tanning salon for a few years. Figured I would give it a try again. Had a great conversation with girl, very knowledgeable on products when I went to select one out. Went full 12 minutes, bulbs are hot. Rooms are clean. I’m happy. Thank you!

2021-12-08Been a few times where they don’t open on time and a manager had to open store 15-30 minutes late. There is one girl who is there all the time whose great but not all the staff is friendly. There is one girl who gives me bad vibes. Please just check me in and not ask which bed I like and dislike and why. They are literally all the same I do not care. By the time you’re done asking me I could have been in the bed.

2021-02-08Been going here for 4 years, first time I went my best friend and I had heard about there free week and her wedding was a week away so we both tried it. We looked perfectly tan and found out that spray tan can be extended in the tanning bed. Few years later and I’m still going here. I like it being close to home, clean and friendly.

2021-09-10Products tend to be pretty expensive. I’ve been a zoom tan client since the elmira location opened. I’ve never had any complaints. The spray machine gives me an even, natural looking tan. The formula used doesn’t leave me “orange”. I recently started to UV daily the beginning of the year. Having worked there in 2017, I know the bulbs are not changed nearly as often as they should. That makes it very difficult for me to achieve a natural color from the UV booths. While I have no complaints about the versa spray machines, my complaints for UVing are, there are no lay down beds. I tan to get color, as well as relax. I don’t want to have to stand every time. The bulbs need to be changed regularly in order for some clients to build & achieve a tan. And the timers need to be checked & adjusted! Every time I UV, I open the door & watch the clock skip several seconds each minute, which ultimately means, I’m not tanning for “10 minutes “, after it’s done skipping random seconds throughout, I tan maybe 8 minutes. Which is extremely frustrating. However, my locations staff are very friendly & super helpful, it is clean every day & very inviting.Click

2021-02-09The girls there are superrrr sweet! It’s ALWAYS SPOTLESS! I ALWAYS get a great tan!! This is my stress reliever lol. This is the ONLY place I will go tanning. The atmosphere is inviting and you’re always greeted with a smile and cheerful voice. And not to mention during lockdown they credited my account every month I stayed with them and that alone is enough to keep me because a lot of businesses didn’t care about covid and still took your money.

2021-01-08I signed up for a one month membership in October or November and got 2 spray tans total, then it shut down due to COVID, but now its January and they just charged my account out of nowhere. This almost drained my checking account. I never agreed to another month membership and I already paid for the first one-which was cut short and not reimbursed.
